The cabin filter is where the stickers are , u have to pop out with a screw driver from the left and right 👉 and take the horizontal cover off then slide out the filter . 😅😊
I had a 2008 Malibu with the same issue. Various videos show where you cut that cover off (which I did), inserted a new cabin air filter and then used the cut piece with duct tape. Worked perfectly - there is space behind that rectangular space for the filter. I guess they saved 2.00 per car not installing a removable door.
Cabin fliter is above that sealed door on a 45 degree angle. Put your hand up there and you can feel and see the filter. I cannot figure out how to replace it?
It probably goes in you have to snap off the black plastic panel at the bottom of the windshield on the outside that's where the older vehicles have it not inside behind the glove compartment
This confusion is because there is no cabin air filter in most 2008 Lincoln mkzs. I say most because according to a Lincoln specialist I spoke with they did start putting them in at the tail end of the 2008 model year. So no, neither of our 2008s have cabin filters. And according to Ford, cannot be fitted for one.
My 2008 Fusion SEL does not have the filter. I did see something above the top of the unit that seems to filter air circulated within the cabin. I see no way of changing it except remove the heater. No Thanks!

I ran into the same issue with my 2007. I believe some of the models simply do not include a cabin air filter
I had an O2 sable that is how you access that from outside the plastic cowl panel by where the wipers attache
have u found it yet? if u can buy for your car then it has to have one

Got a 08 Navigator, and same issue can’t locate it,
no cabin filter?????? or motor assambly?......
Yep. You are correct. None.
Yu pop the little filter door off that's above the blower assembly exactly where your hand was at.
