    Fun fact: THX was actually founded by George Lucas and used the name from a movie he directed called THX 1138. The first time the Deep Note would be used would be in Return of the Jedi in 1983.

    I loved my '07 MKZ. I bought it used at a great value for AWD, V6 and some nice features. Unfortunately, they lacked stability control during this generation, which could have saved me from getting in the accident I got in on an icy day.. Fun while it lasted!

      @Jonathan A I didn't know this generation of Fusion/Milan/Zephyr/MKZ had stability control, have never seen one with it.

    • @hakeemsd70m

      @Jonathan A I think traction control helps wheel spin at launch, and stability control keeps you on your path in turns by like monitoring breaking. That's pretty neat that it has that safety system. Did you like your 2010 Fusion? I've been thinking of switching to a Ford car from my usual GM vehicles.

    I just purchased an 06 zephyr. It has that THX setup. It sounds amazing. It's a 14 speaker 600 watt system. The center channel actually is 3 speakers. Yes my zephyr is fwd, but this is my first Ford product and I'm greatly impressed. Oh and the AC seats still work! Definitely still a goodie on the oldie

      Wanna trade? I just purchased one of these because it looks brand new and only has 70k miles on it. And also because the AC works... But a dude like me needs tunes, and loud tunes at that. I used to own an 07 with the AWD, and yes I agree that even though it had the speed it felt restricted by the creaks, the mushy brake pedal, delayed shifts, I thought that it was just my particular car but you are saying the same thing with a lightly used one. the styling is a combination of one of the best looking front ends on any lincoln to this day mixed with the second ugliest of the rear only beat out by the MKT

    My mother had the same spec 2011 mkz with Bluetooth only had 60k miles. Decent driving, not even remotely fast, felt every pothole (Lincoln will never be Cadillac) it would mute the radio if you didn't have your seatbelt on. Touchscreen was non-existent when the car was moving. It was reliable until my father crashed it in late 2020 so they totaled it (parts availability).

    The silver interior plastic makes the interior look cheaper than the Ford Fusion, IMHO. I would have loved cooled seats, THX, and the 3.5 V6 in the Fusion though. The Fusion/Milan/Zephyr is one of the unsung heroes of the used car market. My 2007 V6 Fusion went over 160K trouble free miles before it was totaled in an accident. BTW, the 6-Speed automatic is made by Aisin/Toyota.

    I looked at this when it was a Zephyr, as I had a loaded LS V8 Sport at the time and a trade was coming if not actually necessary. Underwhelmed. The THX was worlds better than the Alpine in the LS, but the driving experience just wasn't there. The LS for all its faults (cheap interior high on that list) could do a fair imitation of a 5 series - yeah, I know, it wasn't, but you could push it, and use the power to help rear end come around if desired (it has 52/48 weight distribution even with the V8). So much more engaging. This felt like a tarted up Fusion. Lincoln should have developed the LS platform instead IMOP. First vid of yours I have seen pass the bottle test though.

    • @robertborne895
      @robertborne895 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      As the owner of a 2001 in Wedgewood Blue (gray interior), I firmly believe that if Ford wasn’t saddled with Jaguar, they would have made the LS a much better car in version 2.0. It always should have gotten the 4.2L V-8. It should have gotten a supercharger as the S-Type did. And they could have even used the DEW 98 platform to build an Estate (wagon). And the “new” Thunderbird should have always been a Lincoln. It would have been marketed to an aging demographic who wouldn’t have cared that it was floaty. Plus, an Aviator built on that platform would have been so much better than the rebadged Explorer’s of the day.
      Ford/ Lincoln dropped the ball.

    I've always thought that the Zepher/MkZ was a great looking car in every way. I had the opportunity to rent one for an extended weekend and was very displeased with the MPG's it got on the highway(70 mph). it was getting the low 20's.
    as for the one you were showing, I still think it's an all around great looking car and anything under 100k isn't high miles. If it's having power problems it probably has some mechanical issues.

    You can kind of tell this is a Ford Fusion but it looks nice. I like 00s Lincoln when they tried to be a mix of modern and retro. 8 tail light bulbs, that has to be a mess to keep up on. I never see mid 00s Ford products any more except for trucks and Panthers and Mustangs. These weren't built to last. AWD was rare on a sedan back then, now it's hard to find one without. The MK names were confusing because they implied that the cars were comparable but you couldn't tell what a C or a Z or an X meant.

    I have a Mercury Milan Premium. The interior is better than the Lincoln in this video. Same color leather, except it has white stitching, which look beautiful. It has heated and powered seats, along with a 225hp v6 with 6speed trans. The interior is mint. It has no warping of the dash or anything and every other milan, fusion, mkz has some type of warping. The previous owner took very good care of the car. It appears they were the only one to ride in it because all the seats look literally brand new, with the exception of the deivers seat. The tans is clunky but dependable and predictable. All the windows are tinted and the rims are nice, which makes the car actually look nice. I hate the way the tailights look. Other than that the car is good looking if u have tint and the right rims. The rims on that lincoln look hideous on it. Different style of rims would make the car look alot better.
