This rocks, just did it last night. Best tutorial I’ve seen for it online.
My new ebike is coming today and I ordered a Vitilan U7 which has a mag wheel vs spokes. Do you think it would still be possible to mount everything?
How long does the LED go before the battery dies?
@@brandonboss6868pretty sure that depends the capacity of your powerbank.
Thank you sir! So glad to hear this tutorial was helpful.
Looks awesome but I'm a little concerned about the power bank in the wire frame of the wheels
This is a real cool idea.
i designed a 6 cell version of this, so 6x the battery power, rgb or rgbic(optional) leds, app controlled that i installed on a my ebike(pretty much a motorcycle at this point, should I make a video of the making?
Did you make a video of it yet?
Please do, thanks.
I was going to try out the motorcycle led rgb underflow that seperates left from right where the whole setup turns red when you brake. And turns half yellow when you turn
@@Gwatts78 I never seen those before, can you share the link here please? Thanks
Yeah I would watch that
Looks cool.
Very cool!!
Change of plan. I'm going with all blue COB LEDs at 24v with 6x18350 cells per rim.
Looks great! I think I cam make this work with my display that has USB power output. Or tap into existing headlight wire and have remote control with Night sensing to automatically turn them on.
Did you get it to work. I'm thinking about doing the same thing - USB or 3 pin barrel.
Bravissimo complimenti un saluto dall'Italia 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹😉🤝
I wrapped my powerbanks in saran wrap then used velcro to strap them to the spokes. 35ft roll of velcro $7 at harbor freight.
I was thinking the same thing to do that, wonder how long the adhesive would last in az heat though when summer comes might have to mount lights to spokes also.
How long does the lights last with the power banks before needing a recharge?
A very, very long time. I rarely have to charge mine.
HOW DID YOU MOUNT THE USB BATTERY CHARGER TO THE REAR MOTOR? DID YOU TAPE IT? DID YOU ZIPTIE IT?
Three zip ties near the hub to secure the power bank is all that is needed.
Are there different color lights available?
Where do you buy he USB LED? I have a 48 volt ebike which comes with a usb charg port at 5 volt 1 amp.
Look at the description
How do you mount the power supply securely so it won’t fall out but still be able to take it out when you need to charge it?
Zip ties! At least three will do the trick.
How long does the power bank last before recharging?
It depends on the bank and how big your wheel is (more leds). With my 20" wheels and a 5000mah battery I get about 2-3 hours of solid light. I'm probably going to upgrade to 40000 batteries with two led strips per wheel eventually to shoot for 6 hours or so per strip per wheel...I think.
It would probably be better to treat the strip with silicone before you install it, so to keep your rim clean. I'm going to wire 5 single 3.5v 18650 cell holders onto 4" wide velcro to wrap around my hub. It will be both balanced & cleaner!
exactly what I was thinking😃
Where do i get 1?
I'd love to see if we can do bluetooth so we can turn it off and on from our phone
That would be cool! Let us know if you figure out a system, I would be very interested in this.
Great video but where can we find these parts? I can't find usb powered LEDs or a power bank like the one shown.
the links are in the description, you can also search "5v usb led strip". The batteries are just phone chargers.
I just updated the links in the video description
Would you provide the link and tell us how long it lasts just the battery you showed us? Thanks.
I just updated the link in the video description. My lights are on anytime I ride at night and I would say I've gone already 30 hours without even coming close to needing a charge.
Did this se style a couple years ago...always get comments
Yo that’s way cool man and wtf ur from Panama City Florida I was a resident there for six years . But any ways im doing something with my tires im want them to glow I got the paint on it looks nice but I need some uv black light but I can’t fine nothing small to but on the tires Would u have any ideas?
Actually I do have an idea! If you got 6 in strips of UV blacklight LEDs and put them on the inside of your fork, then painted or applied glow in the dark Rim tape around the outer wall of your rim, theoretically when you ride the black light LEDs would recharge the glow in the dark Rim tape. Let me know how this works for you. Always great to meet a PCB neighbor!
Hi how can I get these ?
Does the glue on strips stays on for a long time?
I've been running mine for 3 years, no problems whatsoever
What about weight and balance?
Isn't the battery going to become a projectile?
its not a big deal at low speeds and you can easily create counter weights if youre going at high speeds. I'm currently designing my own hub battery for a motorcycle so that factor is more important to me.
So far no issues up to about 30mph but I'm on a recumbent trike with just me powering so that's about the max I'll get up to unless I run it off a cliff. Which may mess up the results.
Not at all. Just mount close to the hub and use at least three medium to heavy zip ties and you're all set.
How much does it cost for three because I have a trike
Ooh, post pictures! It's going to cost you under $50 when all is said and done.
What rechargeable lights are these please?
The lights are not rechargeable, the batteries are.
Links are in the video description
Kaun sa area Mein Hota Hai Main Bihar se bol raha hun India
Haha how do I check if this is legal where I live?
It's perfectly legal everywhere to my understanding. Unless tail lights on cars are banned in your town, you can use these anywhere!
Where did you purchase these?
The links are in the description
Damnit that power bank is unavailable and you didn't show how you mounted it to that rim.
I just updated the description to a power bank that's currently on sale. Three zip ties on the spokes is all you need to mount the power bank next to the hub.
Does it come in color's
Yes!
It's totally not going to affect your wheel balance💀
Not at all my friend! Try freewheeling once your power bank is mounted. You will notice no difference in the cadence.
You have a radio voice bro…
Mere pass motor chakka Wala Cycle hai usko baithak Mein setting karna hai
power bank out of stock or no longer sold
Any phone powerbank works, I found 2 pack deals on amazon for 2000mah up to 20000mah batteries.
The link has been updated in the video description.
hey
Dude... Nice teeth!
completely bypassed the most important step which is installing the straight tape to a round surface. how do you make it look flawless? How do you get rid of the bumps, how do you instal a straight tape that wants to go one way while the wheel makes it go the other?
Not a very good tutorial that's for sure
It's not straight tape, very flexible.
