Nice video! I plan to visit Lufoten next April by flying to EVE airport . We stay about 5 days. Could you give me some advice about where I should stay, Reine or Leknes or Henningvaer or Solvaer.

Are you renting a car? That matters a lot. You will have a very different experience of Lofoten whether or not you rent a car. If you don’t, then Henningsvær might feel a bit isolated. Svolvær has a lot of tours but it lacks the cozy charm of Reine/Å/Nusfjord. We often recommend people to spend their time 50/50 in the west and east. That way you get to spend some time doing tours (Svolvær) and joining a hiking or sightseeing tour (Reine) whether or not you have a car. BTW, April is still winter here and you usually cannot hike in the mountains without snowshoes or spikes.
      Cheers,
      Ivar

It was great wasn’t it? 😍 I mean, we had a stormy day the day before these shots but it’s at least never boring 😊

Thanks for watching! Late April in Lofoten can be anything from winter to spring. Most likely you will have temperatures from -2 to +6. So bring your winter clothing. Check out our packing list article: guidetolofoten.com/what-to-pack-for-lofoten-in-winter-free-checklist/

Hi, I’m planning a trip here on the 15th of April this year. The plan is to hike the 100 mile trail and wild camp. I am just slightly concerned about safety, so is this a good idea? and are there any precautions I should take before going?

    • @guidetonorway

Hi Oliver! I have never done the Lofoten crossing but if you haven’t already then you should check out Rando Lofoten’s page on the whole trail. It gives you a comprehensive overview of the trail. as well as the TH-cam video with the danish couple. The thumbnail is a blond girl on Ryten I think. It explains pretty well the day to day struggles of the hike. Just be aware that in April we still have lots of snow on the ground here in Lofoten so it might be more difficult than if you do it in the summer or the autumn. Why did you choose April to begin with? I’m just curious.
