Thanks for the help! My first roll propperly developed came out great after ruining a roll in caffenol. It was so intimidating to get started but turned out to be so easy, and cheaper than sending it out to the lab
Setting up my home (bathroom) darkroom and your videos have been incredibly helpful while digging into darkroom photography + masters of film. Very inspiring and I learn something every time. I especially am grateful for your recaps on various photographers - so great! One suggestion - - - I did download your podcast but noticed it was mostly video, which I think is AWESOME but hard to listen to while driving/etc. Have you thought of having a podcast that is just audio? I would love to listen while driving/etc and you have so much to offer / share. It would be super cool if your upcoming Artists Series was in an audio podcast format as well :) Just an idea! Once again, thank you for sharing + teaching + inspiring. Very helpful!!
Can I ask how you dispose of your used fixer for home darkrooms given that camera stores are virtually obsolete these days? I've been trying to figure this out for years and I have a few gallons of this stuff in the garage I'm afraid to dispose of because of the excess silver. Thanks.
I use Photographer's Formulary TF-4 fixer, and with that, you don't need a stop bath, just water to rinse the excess developer off. That may be what you've heard of, but I've had really good success with it!
Ime trying to find out what the powder is i have! I have a jar ov silver looking powder, And a jar ov gold or brass colour powder that was found with my grandads photography stuff. How do i find out?

I have heard that several photographers do not use a stop bath. They just use plain tap water with successful results. What us your opinion?

That’s what my school does and I’ve done some and it was still successful

Ted, does rodinal really last for ever? I have an unopened bottle from about 10 years ago... Do you think it s still usable?
FedeDecuadro absolutely. I once heard of a bottle from WWII that was found and used with great success.
Thank you so much
I thought you couldn't pre-mix rodinal?
Could anybody tell me info about time of exposure while developing films?
I use D-76 in my school's darkroom!
Looks like this video was made before you started using Tf-4
you can prepare it yourself
recording in a mirror?
