I have learned so much from you! It's also nice to know that others enjoy collecting things that I do. Others have made me, in the past, feel silly for collecting rocks and shells. Now I just have to move closer to the ocean that's been calling me for many years! Thanks for the shell videos!
Lisa Jackson Hi Lisa, I find that just like you, some people around me STILL makes me feels silly collecting rocks and shells. But when I'm wearing the finished products, they seem to always want me to make them one or two....LOL I don't care what they think or say!!! I still do whatever makes me happy....:-) Good luck to whatever you're doing and I wish you all the very best. Cheers, Liz
I love how detailed your videos are and how you show the before and after! Thank you for the knowledge, I live in Hawaii and love collecting shells, but have NO CLUE on how to make them look beatiful again. But with your help I can. Thank you so much for taking the time to teach beginners like me.
These are beautiful!!! One of my favorite things to do is to make unique jewelry pieces from the sea shell fragments I find on the beach near my home in Florida.
I live in AZ where there is no beaches. I am going to a state in April where I will be at a beach and I'll get some shells to try to do all of this.... Thanks so much Liz for all you show us.

Beautiful! I wish my could find seashells! There are practically no seashells at the beaches near me in California. How do you cut the pearls in half? How do you shape the shells?
Hope this video below link, helps. Thanks for watching. Seashells - How to Grind Cut and Polish | Liz Kreate - th-cam.com/video/3A4Txldz5po/w-d-xo.html
Hi Liz, just saw this video…based on the date when you filmed this video, is now almost 9 years later or 2023…curious if you are still making shell pendants and if you have a site where you sell them?! Thank you!
Oh wow those shells are gorgeous... wish we could get such pretty ones here in America. That one with the holes, I would love to take some seam binding and stitch it through the holes for a shabby chic look :) Lovely jewelry you make...you're so talented!
i dont normally comment on stuff thats DIY inspired. but with as much time as i've spent shelling i've never really been inspired to sand off the natural weathered look. i bleach it and wipe it down but i've never sanded. I think i might try that when i get back from vacation in a few weeks. i have a ton of shells and i think i just got inspired for my mothers christmas gift this year... where are you from? im sure you said it once before but this is the first video i've seen of yours although i'm bookmarking this so definitely not the last
+ktchupgrlky Sorry took a while to reply. Been too busy of late setting up my website. I'm from Australia. Thanks for watching and have fun with your Mothers Christmas gift. I'm sure she'd love it. Cheers, Liz
Heather Cronk Thanks for watching Heather. I have a lapidary/trim saw that I use to cut the pearls but one can also use a rotary tool to cut them. All the best, Liz

+Debra T Hi Debra, You'll need to get a good quality diamond coated burrs/bit. Most of the bit/burrs that comes with the rotary tool would not last very long or grind very well. Also make sure that you submerge the item you're grinding under water or keep it wet at all times for quicker grinding and also makes your burr last a little longer. Wish you all the very best. Cheers, Liz
You have a Unique way of seeing something beautiful in things others discard or pass by. Never change!
Thanks Joseph. Too old to change now...LOL
