The XA, XB, XC coupes were my all time favourite cars. Never owned one but there's still time.
This is just scratching the surface of what we have in OZ.🕶️
What a great first episode!
I'm a '69 model fellow Aussie so seeing the stock version takes me back to my childhood when you'd see Falcons, Fairlanes, Monaros, Chargers & Kingswoods everywhere on the road. A time when the Australian car manufacturers (R.I.P.) were still passionate & delivered something that not only looked tough but had character.

I own a 70 Gto Judge but the Australian Falcon is my ABSOLUTE #1 dream car in the world. Maybe one day..

Hardly any survive, most simply dissolved with rust.
@@billcarson4566 What? I went to a Ford day 3 month ago in Western Australia and there were 30 XA, 34 XB and 40 XC Coupes. I see heaps every day.
@@BatMan-xr8gg West coast chrome musn't be as savage as the ol' East coast chrome, mate... stuff over here will and does disappear at a rapid rate of knots... I used to live really close to the beach (on the central coast NSW) and cars would chrome up in no time short, it's a right royal pain in the ring gear...
@@grandy2875 Yeah, dryer weather and generally low humidity. There are plenty of very nice chrome cars. My car as you can see in my profile pic. After 20 years, still runs great. Cheers

Danny, I have been and still am a huge fan of all your shows but this one i really dig the most. Please keep up what you are doing with all shows because i really want to see them all. I watched the video, brought back memories. I owned a 1973 2 door 351 XB GS. nine inch 2.75 diff, 2v heads, full instrumentation dash, FMX auto and drove it like a race car on the track and never put a scratch on it, Awesome car, but had rebuild the engine and gearbox after a while. It was a pleasure to have owned one.
As you said Count the American influence in late sixties early seventies Falcons is evident as Aussie's loved there V8's , fast fwd to 2020 & sadly the locally produced V8's are gone as no longer do Ford or Holden ( GM )
Build cars in Australia everything is imported although you can purchase a mustang & Camero they are the basic models not the high end spec & are expensive, this was an awesome episode as it brought back Many memories, definitely looking forward to the next !!

I am the 2nd owner of a 1967 got it in 1977 total restoration 302 boss motor, out of 69 mustang, lowered,keeping it to I'm gone

Just a note the 302 he talked about was a Cleveland not a Windsor. Australia destroked the 351 to create the 302 Cleveland .
I worked at the car shows on the gold coast for years for Ian directly who not only owned the shows but started the Friday night shows and music events at the GC Indy now the V8 supercars events and I believe I have a professional opinion from my years of experience. I've seen many cars but this is beautiful. She's heavy though. I've always loved the XA-XC Falcons. A side note, a friend of my brother-in-law is in an Australian band and owned a Peter Moffitt special. His son wrote it off. A tragedy as those cars are extremely rare.

My late father had the earlier ‘73 XA Superbird coupe, with a 302, which I adored, back in 1978. It was sold due to the world wide fuel crisis.😭I still wish we’d stuck that in the shed. Love this car, my dad had a plum crazy (like) hardtop version which at 19 made me the coolest kid on the block.
LOve these cars. I'm from Melbourne too and my father had a used car dealership in North Melbourne. As a kid I would sometimes go to work with him on a Saturday. He had a bronze coloured XB Falcon coupe like this one and it was show car quality (for the day). Had the biggest Mickey Thompson tyres on the rear I'd ever seen and beautiful all black velour interior. I remember they parked it out the front footpath (which was very wide) as their top car..and I spent many hours on one Saturday dreaming how cool it would be to have this car. Nowadays, XA-XC Falcon coupes are untouchable, even a project car.

Love that you are into our Aussie muscle too... my ex had one of these in the factory purple, it was luckily one of the 351 phase 4's that got chucked in whatever was coming off the line with a V8 after the powers-that-be had a hissy fit and said no more 'cause they pissed 'emselves when the first lot were dynoed at ridiculous grunt...if you were lucky to cop one in whatever V8 option you bought, it was a hell of a ride...btw, he ended up with 3 of them over the years in different vehicles he was arsey enough to buy, the 2 door purple people eater, a late 60s Effy that had been rebuilt, and his "Legless Louie" (was on the cover of a Nev Nichols album, and the centrefold of a trucking magazine in the late 80s/early 90s) that he bought from a mate who built it...he doesn't have any of them now because he had (and still doesn't) no appreciation for the classics...

Great idea for a channel, that XB is stunning. The Aussies had some amazing homegrown cars and got some of the best of the American, British and more lately German and Japanese machines too.
Aussie muscle was tough..
But NZ got/gets far better Euro/JDM vehicles aswell as the Aussie muscle and for far less $$

I’ve never been a fan of centrelines but geez they really suit this Falcon hardtop in its perfect ride height and it’s dark blue colour.
