1975 6hp Evinrude (6504R) outboard refresh Part 2

- We are doing a refresh on a 1975 6hp Evinrude (6504R) outboard. We will rebuild on the carb, clean, sand, paint.
In this video we remove the carburetor and disassemble it.
The end goal is to make it run well, look good, and ready for many more years on the water.
Thanks for uploading the video. I have an 6504r too. Looking at doing a restore in the not too distant future. Great little motors.
You're welcome. We have another one recorded that needs to be edited. We still have a ways to go. Hopefully have it running right for spring.

@@Gearheadcentral hi gearhead. i am in Australia so we are in our summer. my father had the 6504r as a safety motor on a larger boat as we used to go offshore fishing. it has very low hours. i also have a 6602 6hp from 1966.it was very well looked after and very low hours too.. a little gem.
evinrude used to make motors here till the early eighties. look forward too your video.

No part 3? guessing y'all never could get it started.
We did get it started. We have a video shot, I haven't finished editing it yet. It is a long video, need to cut it down. Even though it started, it isn't running just right yet. We have some trouble shooting to do. Lock downs haven't helped. I need to see what Jeff plans to do next. I want to get it running and test it out.
