    Full Disclosure, I do not work for Harbor Freight and all opinions in this video are of my own. I try to do honest reviews to the best of my ability! If you find any errors in this recording please comment down below. I did reach out to Harbor Freight as I do with a lot of venders and asked for this tool. Harbor Freight did provide it free of charge and I chose to share it with you, my viewers! Harbor Freight has not paid me to do this video!

    I like that the case has removable pins so it can sit without the lid in a shallow drawer.

    Looks a lot the one SnapOn put out a year or two ago, just different handle. Pretty nice kit, I just don’t feel I have a need for it. I do heavy trucks, but they have drivers at the shop. Personal use, I would have just replaced that whole hub assembly and called it a day lol. For folks that do use it a bit, seems like it worth taking a chance on.

    Putting a label on the case is a wonderful idea. How do you get those labels to stick to rough cases?

    Can you use these on an hydraulic press to press the bearings out?

    the labeling on the case seems trivial to some…but I think its a great touch.

    This tool works for hub and bearings remove and install?

    • @1D10CRACY
      @1D10CRACY  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It just seats bearings, it doesn't remove them.

  • @rmzstudio8229
    @rmzstudio8229 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I think you did it backwards. The smaller round portion is suppose to go inside the seal to prevent you from sliding all over the place like you were due to the grease.

      I am a bit confused to this comment as I didn't install the seal in this video but I will try to answer as best as I can. The conical side of the puck nests inside the bearing race when installing it. When installing the seal, you can't stick the conical part through the seal, it would be too big and you risk tearing the seal out. Also there is only a thin lip on the pucks above the conical part, you need to try to cover the entire surface of the seal to prevent damage.

    I would never use that for bearings. Hardened steel vs. Aluminum. You will destroy the tool and make it worse for using it on seals.

    • @1D10CRACY
      @1D10CRACY  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Maybe you should be using the aluminum ones. They are made out of aluminum to prevent any damage to the bearing race when installing them. The softer material will not chip or ding the race when knocking them in place. Pretty much all higher end bearing and seal driver sets are made of a high quality aluminum. As for destroying them, I have a MAC set on my service truck that is at least 10 years old now. That set has been used pretty heavily over the years and shows very little sign of wear.

      @@1D10CRACY Exactly, aluminum is the ideal metal for this application.

      @@1D10CRACY I agree, better to have the tool take some wear than chance a dinged bearing surface. I used to use a brass drift and go side to side pounding the bearing in but this tool would be a much better way to do it.

    This kit is useless. Get the one with the long bolt that you can use a wrench with. This thing would never work on anything, minus some brand new bearing.

    • @1D10CRACY

      This kit has been awesome! I have beat the crap out of it and it has held up extremally well! If you are having an issue seating a bearing, you need to do some more prep work with the bearing seat. A little experience will go a long way!
