I’ll tell you. When I want to watch a fashion video, I want individuality. I’m not clicking on any of these capsule wardrobe or, more recently, closet staples that will change your life, videos! Discussing proportions, textures, ways to combine and enjoy clothes, these are what interest me. I’ve always enjoyed your analytical approach.
I welcome the movement toward more elegant and ladylike dressing. I think it’s partly a reaction to the long lockdowns during the pandemic. We got depressed wearing only baggy loungewear at home and missed the joy of wearing beautiful, feminine clothes. It’s back and it’s one of the special pleasures of being a woman - wearing pretty clothes.
Alyssa at her best! These are my favourite videos. I learn so much and look at what I have with new eyes. The only issue/ challenge is that I live in the Southern hemisphere. This does not mean that we are strictly replicating these styles 6 months later. Style is constantly evolving so it’s looking at how we can incorporate elements of these trends into our summer wardrobes while keeping next winter in mind when we consider decluttering and packing away out current winter wardrobe.
You are so right! Fashion is all over the place. Hemlines could be mini, midi or maxi. I love that whatever I have can be made stylish. My favorite is wearing any color in cooler weather. Leopard 🐆 is a no for me though.
There's a lot to learn. Your approach provides a freedom and individuality that others don't. Thank you for teaching us how to be ourselves in fashion!
I've noticed the trend of wearing dark colour vests/bras under sheer white/light colour tops to accentuate the sheer. Normally we are told to wear nude bras/vests underneath but I also quite like the idea of a contrast, and you're showing this microtrend perfectly in this video Alyssa by wearing it yourself
I sell donated jewelry for fund raising. The latest batch there is a pearl choker with 12/14mm size pearls probably 60+ years old. It reminds me Princess Diana so I searched her wearing pearls photos. I saw that she wore casual or crew neck tops/dresses wearing pearl choker that didn’t fight with the neckline. I found it very interesting how a choker style in big pearl size can enhance the facial features. I already put that choker on Poshmark before I decided to buy it for myself. I have quite a few choker necklaces but they are all in small size beads. This vintage pearl choker really brings attention to my face and dresses up casual outfits.
On a similar topic, I recently found a pile of magazines from 4 to 10 years ago. I just plopped the fall ones on the coffee table in lieu of buying new ones. It’s a delight! And not too different from the stuff on sale now.
Thanks for this video! And for touching on accessories and particularly tights. Any chance you can do a short video on how to wear tights with different outfits and which tights are the best for the specific occasion or style one is trying to achieve, please?
Thank goodness, tights and even stockings are back! Since leggings have officially been out, I've been struggling to wear skirts. I really don't think the no-tights tights of the 90s are all that flattering and I live in a cooler climate where it's not practical at all. I'll be bringing back my woven tights with so much joy!
I never gave up my socks, stockings and tights. I can’t stand the feeling of bare toes in closed shoes, so I didn’t always do the no-socks look. Tights and stockings are essential for me, too, because I wear mostly dresses and skirts year-round and I can’t go bare-legged if it’s cold.🙂
@@KimberlyPerrotis 😊Yes, I predominantly wear skirts too. When it finally stays chilled in 😎LA (aka 60s + below)〰️&/or I'm going to a more formal event👠〰️hosiery is a must. 🤍Plus, I love the continuous column of color ↕️ w/coordinating skirt, tights, & boots too. 😰In our warm weather, I prefer closed toe shoes where I can discreetly slip in naked socks. 🥿Ballet slippers, glove slippers or loafers are my standards. Sometimes shorter booties, but that's specifically when the hem of the skirt overlaps⬇️ the top of the boot. 😉Will break that last rule w/below⬇️ the ankle cowboy booties for Country🤠 Western dancing or related concerts🎶. Since I no longer go horse back riding🐎, they're considerably more comfy than traditional cowboy boots👢 in hot weather🥵. Short boots paired w/a more swishy fit & flare skirt for max joy around the dance floor😁. 🤔Generally, I avoid high vamp shoes like the plague, but I do make exception w/sneakers & skirts. It's key when it comes to situations where I need to be on my feet for hours, covering lots of territory in a timely fashion⌚️. 🔎I do find slimmer slip-on sneakers w/naked socks & a lower vamp the most flattering for activities. ▪︎👟Dad sneakers are reserved for walking in my hilly neighborhood & to the top of the mountain above. ▪︎🥾Hiking boots are required when going off clearly marked trails, esp. in high grasses🐍. ▪︎White leather sneakers & sporty skorts for covered &/or shady🌲 outdoorsy events like volunteering @ marathons. ☂️Parasol & maxi skirts for shopping flea markets & more. Beautiful brogues also shorten my legs😂, so they're reserved for the times I wear full length trousers in Late Fall/Winter/Early Spring. 👡Sandals, slides, & sling-backs are typically only something I can bear at home🏠, around a pool🏊♀️, the seaside🏖, eateries🍷, the theatre🎭, etc. Places that get 🏡door-to-door⛪️ drop off service🚘 where there is minimal walking involved. Find these types of shoes more suitable for lots of standing or sitting. The bottomline is w/o socks or hosiery of some kind, my feet blister like mad🤣, esp. in our sizzling hot temps☀️. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
@missfl0werstar 🤗You're lucky🍀 to be in a cooler climate. Can't stand hosiery once the mercury🌡 starts heating up here〰️which is practically ALWAYS w/the impact of our beautiful blue skies💙 & full blistering sun🌞. 🥺I've been forever self-conscious of my well developed curvy limbs that come along w/my extreme hourglass⏳️ figure. My fat & muscle content will always keep them on the thicker side. 😃The good news is my muscles respond well to hilly walks & keep the fat in check. Without a doubt, hosiery & tights smooth everything out as well as provide a modesty barrier, but I can't bear them when out & about in temps of 70s-110s☀️. 😬Broke the top of my tibia in two places, two years ago in a wildfire brush clearance accident. Fell down a height from a retaining wall that crumbled. Had surgery w/pins put on both sides below the knee w/long scars. This AFTER having to be stabilized w/this huge metal aparatus until swelling reduced w/4 metal pins in the center of my whole leg. Not excessively vain, but all this extra scarring drama added to my already self-conscious mix. That this would be the END of my shorts & shorter skirts😂. 🤫Luckily, the surgical scars have faded & blend in more after all this time. Although I no longer have exactly matching limbs at this moment. My right leg has bulked up even more to take over for the weak leg. Fortunately w/regular targeted exercise this will also improve over the long haul👍. 🙌Meanwhile, I remain thankful to 🕊God, the ortho team👨⚕️, PTs🧑⚕️, & nurses👩⚕️ for the continued recovery of my sturdy limbs. 🙏🏾I pray my next surgery to remove any residual scar tissue & bone fragments to restore flexibilty in the joint will be equally successful. All this does make me even MORE self-conscious about my own body issues, but comfort in this climate🥵 & practicality often take precedence over all this nonsense. 🤨Not sorry, but screw any socially superior soul or style critic that demands to be a stickler on all these points. Aging gracefully is about acceptance of our bodies. Doing what we can to dress appropriately for the circumstances & occasion. That also means taking our personal needs, incl. the formality of our lifestyle & climate into consideration. All the while employing simple visual style tricks that can improve our overall silhouette as well as mitigate some of our choices based on body issues, personal preferences, & other requirements. ❤Love the elegance of heels👠, but I will be lucky to graduate to sturdy block heels or even wedges one day. Restricted to flats for the foreseeable future. Platforms are possible, but they are only flattering when hidden underneath floor length skirt or wide straight trousers. Otherwise, they highlight my shorter legs. 🤓Interestingly enough, I noticed recently in my new floor length wardrobe mirror 🪞 that my perceptions of my "imperfections" are not as grandiose or obvious as I imagined🤯. Sure, my limbs are still full & curvy, but NOT nearly as ⬅️bulky➡️ as they are in my head or in 📷photos😔. Yay!🎉 All this to stay, I will slip on leggings underneath longer skirts & high boots. That makes it a 💯% more comfortable down in the 50s-30s range. 🤍Love the look of short skirts (vs micro/mini), tights, & thigh high boots while also doing that continuous column of color ↕️. It's so vertically slimming & elongating. In addition to having a slightly longer torso than legs, I also have longer thighs & shorter calves too. Although 5'7", w/big bust & wide hips & these other specific factors, it can make me look top heavy😖. Certain garments can make my legs stumpy🪵. The shorter shorts/skirts combined w/even flat thigh high boots obscure my knee placement & will lengthen my leg. It is the MOST highly flattering to my particular proportions. The next best option is short shorts/skirt w/tights & an ankle boot. As long as I'm wearing matching monochromatic color from bottom to boot, I'll look longer. The tights actually help reduce my sensitivity😵💫 toward exposing the top of thighs & making my hips more of a feature. Otherwise, if I dare go bare on the legs in short shorts or skirt, that requires a light duster length topper layer (say in a gilet, kimono, or trench). This reduces my discomfort😳 about the added exposure in back. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
Thank you for this great video! Would love to see a "styling these fall trends from my own wardrobe" video! I think you did something similar in the past and it was so inspiring!
I am passing on the plaid trend, it is so specific and hard to style with what I already have. I do love the burgundy trend. I think burgundy and cognac boots and bags look very rich and interesting. I am glad to see so much color. I am kinda sick of black, and some of the color combinations in the video look amazing.
1:30 TOTALLY agree. I don't purchase clothing very often; I tend to wear things for 10+ years. But I love figuring out new combos, and always go back to tried-and-true "Fall outfits" (etc.). So sure, maroon/red/burgundy is "in" right now, but it was "in" last year and the year before and the year before and before and before... since the 80s (as a young adult; I'm 61 now.) so when I hear or see "deep red is "in", I can always find something - but it's the same thing I wore last year, so I try to play with it differently. Sometimes. 😄Just for fun. Thanks for the fun video.
Same! I'm 60, many of my clothes are 20 years old (they were made so much better back then) and I wear them in different combos and it all feels new. And as far as burgundy, it's been a staple in my wardrobe for just as long so I have to laugh when I hear that it's the "in" thing.
I purchased the course, am a few chapters in, and LOVE it. You are providing great info (and for some reviewing concepts) in a manner we can relax and delve into. I know it’s early but I am clearing out and wonder about spring “trends”…. Any items YOU will always have in your closet? Also a few items to have for holiday dressing
The best fall fashion trend advice! Christina Mychas and Tasha Juli also made good videos on the subject that were introspective for me. When it comes to great style, sometimes what you buy/wear or don’t are equally important!
Hi Alyssa I live in Paris and there is no mention of your course. What a pity ! Very nice video and interesting topic. In Paris, we value long-term investment buys. Lots of very long coats seen today in Paris in the Marais. Thank you for your work.
Most of this fall’s trends are classics, including the biggest colors, burgundy, khaki green and browns. It’s been a great trend year for me because I was able to get modern versions of so many old favorites, classics and preppy styles from the late 70s and early 80s. I love contrast-trim; collared Polo knit tops and sweaters; cropped tops, sweaters and jackets and tailored skirts, pants and dresses, all of which I found. These three trending colors have long been in my wardrobe palette, too. I bought a whole new wardrobe over the last year, shopping for each new season as they rolled around to get the best selection. I’ve lost 50 lbs. gradually over the last decade from aging, but could only recently afford to buy new clothes that didn’t fall right off. It turned out so well that when I was ready, I loved the trends available, which I can’t say about every year. I hardly found anything I loved from about 2000-2020, classics weren’t “in” and styles trended to be extreme, so I bought little. It has been expensive because I can only wear natural fibers and materials, which cost a lot more than synthetics. Fortunately, footwear and accessories still fit at any weight, so I have a good selection. This is my forever wardrobe, so I tried to choose the most timeless and versatile items I could.
I agree, it’s more acceptable to wear unique, individual-style outfits now, rather than the few trendy looks of the current season. I think younger people have helped with this, high-school and college kids where I live (California) will only wear secondhand clothes. They don’t care if they’re “current” or not, only if they appeal to them and are comfortable and practical. There is nothing in thrift stores where I live because the employees are all young re-sellers and cherry-pick the donations before they hit the floor, usually for free. I’ve been burned too many times buying secondhand, I decided it’s not for me.
Is the course the membership of your msbeltempo website or something different, please? I can’t be sure I found the correct link (UK: a country where the course is unavailable?). Another enjoyable video. Helped me realise how much I LOVE autumn style: rich colours, lush textures, draping cosiness, heritage & boho vibes, practical accessories, a sprinkle of spice, academia…
I love these videos, I feel like I already have everything I need, I just need your guidance on what to put on my "currents" rack from the closet. I wish your course was available where I live, I really want to buy it but it says it is not available yet. (Hopefully soon...)
I've finally caved in and bought some wide leg jeans, I needed to look a bit more current. I must say that I like them (not as much as straight/bootcut) and that they have the unexpected bonus of hiding my stick-out tummy, I am slim but the post-menopausal vegan tummy (fibre in transit) can get me down sometimes as it's so hard to shift. So the wide leg jeans and also A-line denim skirts do a good job disguising it and are very comfortable. But I don't want to get too comfortable in case the other jeans no longer fit me. Burgundy - I've always hated it, I don't think it's going to last, I would rather invest in browns, navy or grey.
I have tried to use belts for years now. However, I find that I keep taking them off before going out. I feel like it’s to fussy, uncomfortable and annoying to have around the waist. I tried it on blazers, to nip in the waist, but it feels like a costume and again, to fussy - it looks so dumb on me, when I sit down In trains, busses, you name it. And I keep having to adjust the belt. It looks great on other people 🤔
I don’t think belts on blazers are practical unless you keep the blazer on or the blazer has belt loops for a belt. I tend to get warm, so I’d be removing the blazer and wondering wear to put my belt. 😊
I don't know if you are right about commercial fashion and trends giving way to individuality, but I do feel that way about fashion in my own life. I love to see trend videos. But not to see what I should buy. Rather, I like seeing if something I've already been wanting or dreaming of, will be coming available, and to see if what's trending vibes with ME. Of these trends, the one that probably most vibes with me is the ladylike trend in the sense that I like clothing with a womanly silhouette (30's, 40's, 50's vibe).

🤩Dear Alyssa: adore your value of living a more sustainable lifestyle. Also appreciate your powerful training & encouragement for us to 🛍shop our closet. This philosophy has been life changing💣💥! Being able to ✍️jot notes on my 📲cell as I 👁👁watch your videos is important. Another great posting. Agree with so much of your posting. However, that see through “trend”, is fake. I see it on the runway and from influencers, but here in Montréal no one is wearing it. A recent trip to New York and London proved to me that no one is wearing it. I asked a friend in the Netherlands, Amsterdam in particular, no one is wearing it. The same from a cousin living in Paris, on one is wearing it. So……is it a trend?
I'm avoiding leopard print and stripey tops this year, too ubiquitous, I'm sick of them. And 'm seeing lots of leopard print worn by not very classy ladies, so it's a big turn-off. I always avoid a trend that is everywhere, it gets too predictable and common, I like to be a bit more original and timeless with a little twist
Why can’t I ever find the information “linked just below” or in the “main menu”? What is the “main menu” in TH-cam? Never heard of it and can’t find this $20 course mentioned in the video. So frustrating!😤

The best fall fashion trend advice! Christina Mychas and Tasha Juli also made good videos on the subject that were introspective for me. When it comes to great style, sometimes what you buy/wear or don’t are equally important!
I love sheer 3rd layers...I have alot of it vintage for travel
Great analysis Alyssa 👍
I always love your videos but this one was special ! ❤
Can you give some visual examples of the suggestions you’ve made Alyssa? Esp the ways to wear sheer you mentioned
Thank you for this 👏🏾
Love it!!! 💘
Your necklaces are 😍
I'm so grateful for this! ❤❤❤
That 's just really helpful and amazing content ❤. Thank you so much, Alyssa
I love my 80's fry campus boot.
Hi Alyssa - I also can't find the link for your course and I am in Canada. Hope it will be with posted with your next video. Thanks!
@@tanyac9910 hi Tanya! So sorry about this! You should see it on the top menu when you click on the channel homepage - along with shorts, playlists, etc - but I will link in the description shortly! Hopefully that will work! ❤️🙏
Since my childhood my shool uniform @ 80's was burgundy skirt vest and cardigan with my my white open down shurt
I have luxrul replicas, and my favorite is LV. In addition to the beautiful design, it is easy to take and can hold a lot of things.
The course is not available in Italy, what a pitty. When will you be having your next shop your closet event?
Thank you! ❤
Hi, Alyssa! Im trying to buy your course, but since I am living outside of US and my Apple Store is US. TH-cam doesn’t allow me to buy it. Is there another way for me to pay and have the access?
@@analumonaco ah shoot! It could be because you are not geographically in he US. Let me check with YT! Right now, the only other access point is the subscriber community who get $10 off the course with their monthly membership… let me double check with YT re; geographic location vs account!
I love the top you are wearing…. Where is it from? Can it still be found?
Not available for Spain 😢
So useful. ❤
Love your white top. Curious about the type of underwear you wore underneath that doesn’t peek through at all despite the loose big neckline
Great job!
Hi Alyssa, I’m United States and don’t see the course. Is it unavailable here? Love your videos… so much fun and informative!
Love you white shirt… brand? And is that for sale anywhere?
is the course not available in canada? I am not seeing a link ...
@@najmakhalil5257 it is available in Canada! When you click on my channel homepage you should see a “courses” option on the menu where there are “playlists” “shorts” “videos” etc … let me know if you don’t see it there! In the meantime I will link in the description!
Would love to do the course but do not see it. The Netherlands not yet included?
🤩Dear Alyssa: adore your value of living a more sustainable lifestyle. Also appreciate your powerful training & encouragement for us to 🛍shop our closet. This philosophy has been life changing💣💥!
Being able to ✍️jot notes on my 📲cell as I 👁👁watch your videos is important. That practice helps embed your ✨️solid gold✨️ teaching into my brain🧠.
🤔Only this time, YT would NOT allow me to minimize your video in order to do that. It would shut down. A message appeared that said playback wasn't possible in this mode.
Can you fix that? Not sure if that's on your end or the platform, but that's why I'm back here today. Thanks lovely.

Would you mind sharing where your beautiful necklaces are from? They look so lovely on you! 💕
They’re by one of the jewelry companies that occasionally sponsor her videos. AnnaLoisa maybe.
Like, love as always ❤😊
Leather and suede are easy to find second hand because many of us are saying good bye to this choice.
Hi Alyssa, I don't see a link to the course and I live in Canada.
I found the link - thank you.
An idea for you. Disseminate the final Ralph Lauren fashion show. Make it a long video or a series. So much to say there.❤
I'm avoiding leopard print and stripey tops this year, too ubiquitous, I'm sick of them. And 'm seeing lots of leopard print worn by not very classy ladies, so it's a big turn-off. I always avoid a trend that is everywhere, it gets too predictable and common, I like to be a bit more original and timeless with a little twist
Christina had already made a similar video.
Why can’t I ever find the information “linked just below” or in the “main menu”? What is the “main menu” in TH-cam? Never heard of it and can’t find this $20 course mentioned in the video. So frustrating!😤

Trends seems so ridiculous. Why do we want to all look the same. Carbon copies. Let's me original.
I am not paying a dime for a greedy little girl for information that is readily avaliable.
Wow, this is an incredibly rude and unnecessary comment! 😑
Nasty... Wow!
Why are you even on this page?
@@katem3961 How? Just calling out a greedy little girl with grubby fingers trying to scam little people.
Is your comment smart? Is it valuable for others like everything that Alyssa does? Does it bring value? Nope. So save it for you, and for all of us please keep your mouth closed forever when these are the words coming out of it!
