And there are seemingly more posts on Reddit complaining about the Volvos than the lacklustre cars in previous updates. Kids these days, as you say, don’t get it!
I love this thing, I made a Gr. A replica of this with 340hp 2,315lbs (1,050kg) and with RH tires and a good suspension tune it’s like a go kart. Genuinely one of my favorite handling cars in the game
Thank you for sharing the suspension setup. I'm going to get this baby tuned and race the nurburgring in VR. I've already done one in the stock version with sport soft tires as my only upgrade and it was fantastic.
@@davidshekhter5284 that setup with RH tires and 100 downforce from the wing is the sweet spot. No wide body and sits at 607pp. SS tires will get it to 600 so it’ll be competitive for that level of competition. And if the rear wnd does step out it’s very controllable
Such an awesome addition. I bought 2 straight away, one fully upgraded touring car style, and I left one untouched. It should be fun for some of the Clubman Cup+ events, maybe not the quickest because of it's lively handling characteristics, but should be a blast to not take too seriously.
I'm happy to see Volvo back and looking forward to seeing the different liveries people make for this one. Having 80s and 90s "normal" cars in such a great looking modern game is always entertaining to me. I hope we get the 850 even if it's just the standard road car with some visual upgrades available so that we can make the BTCC version.
Given the popularity of Volvo engine swap projects, it would not be surprising to see a high power engine swap like a V8 or 2JZ being added in a future update.
By far my favourite car of the update! There’s currently a 240 GLT sat on Autotrader with basically delivery mileage of 160,583miles on the clock. It might just be the silliest thing I buy this week 😂
I have a soft spot for Volvo ever since my parents bought one when I was little. The main thing I remember was how finnicky the seatbelts were. Probably my first sign Volvo takes safety way more seriously that most manufacturers.
That episode of top gear when Jeremy painted "turbo" on the side of his Volvo and crashed into his parents garage. Too funny. I am glad to see Volvo return. Great video. Mine is designed to look like a hearse lol. Funny to watch a hearse rally cross at Barcelona.
I hadn’t payed any attention to this game for a few months, not even wanted to play it; it got a bit stale for me with the last update I was present for being that awful one with the many electric VGTs things and nothing good. That was until one of your notifications came through my phone and the first thing I read was “Volvo Confirmed”. Along with Lotus, I’ve been wanting Volvo in the series ever since I started playing in GT Sport, mainly because my dad had a 940 Turbo which I loved. So as soon as I could, I loaded onto the game for the first time in a couple of months and took my cash cow car to Le Mans to get enough money to buy three, yes three of these 240s (one to recreate my dad’s 940, one to keep standard and one to go mad with for no reason 😂. I hadn’t played the game in so long that I’d completely missed one of the updates and when I was mucking about in a lobby with one of my 240s, I saw a Urus and thought, ‘Since when was the Urus in this game??”. So then went and bought that and subsequently discovered the other gen of R8 had been added and bought that too. I completely went over the top with this comment just to explain why I I’m so glad to finally have Volvo in the game, I’m hoping they add many more
Goodwood Time Trial is my GoTo stock car test track and I was amazed how driveable and NOT top-heavy (as you pointed out in your initial review) the 240 is…Loved driving it around there…I'll likely buy another one now and tune it up to your spec. Thanks, HSG!
It's underpowered and lack of top end for 600pp fully tuned with sport tyres but in places like Nordschleife it's a pleasure to push that hard, at least for me going for the European Clubman 600 at no chili and fighting the really OP Giulia to the finish line in dash cam is crazily satisfying
This was absolutely the car that I was looking forward to in this update. I love the other cars as well, but this one was the one that piqued my interest most. It’s especially exciting that it’s actually a great vehicle… \m/, 😅 ,\m/
You should thank me. After all, I’m the one who’s been nagging both Kaz and Volvo to work something out for _years._ Now I have to nag them for a 1995 Volvo 850 T-5R wagon, and it has to be the wagon, or else.

Can't do a good tune? Can you help me with suspension?

Very cool car. I travelled 300 km to my PS5 just to buy this car.
I hope we'll get the 850R and the Nissan Stagea too
And audi rs2

Now I can build my virtual 240 wagon instead of the real one I have on jack stands 😂
I absolutely love Volvos, hopefully there is more lined up for the title.
I can picture a P1800 or an Amazon being added at some point.

Oh dear how expensive is it

This car and the Civic surprised me with how well they handle corners stock

I made 4 liveries for this Volvo, starting with McDonald's, Hot wheels, STP, and Caterpillar
Cool! I never downloaded a livery before, but this might be reason to do so!

Love they added Volvos
Best carmaker in the world

Compare to 88 variant this one is definitely better in every aspect especially THE WEIGHT
I REALLY hope they give it a V8 swap so I can complete my Rote Sau style build for it.
I don't know why but i would love to see the 5-cylinder Audi engine swap into one of these tanks.
What's the point? Volvo themselves have a 2.5 inline 5 turbo.
If they can add Volvo into Gran Turismo, that should mean they can add Koenigsegg to Gran Turismo
