- Demi Lovato seemed destined for superstardom, tapped to be the next Disney child star to hit the big time, similar to Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears. Her ascent to the mainstream nearly collapsed owing toe addiction and mental health issues. But she's claimed victory over substance abuse, and has continued her ascension in the pop world. She talks to Tracy Smith about sobriety and what played into her decision to become part-owner of the Los Angeles rehab center that saved her life.
Demi is really amazing. I'm so proud to call her my inspiration, she's struggled with so much and in the end, she got out of it all victorious.

I used to think Demi was just another corny Disney girl singing cheesy songs.. But after seeing some interviews and finding out she overcame her addictions and has 4 years sobriety, I like her now and I have mad respect for her for using her voice to help others. Pretty inspirational..
I cried at the end of this video! So happy that she's here right now singing and being her true self. She is my idol and lets be honest, her fight allowed us to continue fighting as well! ♥♥♥

She has experienced struggling with so much and for everything that she had to go through in her own life I couldn't be so blessed to be alive and how much she had saved my life to see my light of who I am today with a disability with Down syndrome and she is such an icon and such a very beautiful person that she is and I couldn't be so happy to see her being happy in her own life

Because of all the fame and depression they have to go through, cuz they chose that path, and being that famous comes great disadvantages. The more popular you are the more haters or false rumors and attention seekers will go against you or use u. Especially at a young age most of them didn’t get to have a normal childhood and relax there’s always weight in their shoulders more than their parents if your started as a child star, most get depressed a lot, with all the spotlight and paparazzi.
