    That’s why I love this site to buy plants from. They’ll recommend you to buy from local people they don’t try to promote themselves only. They also actually check you’re location too see you’re temperature. Not much companies do. 5 stars from me.

    I need to look through your videos for substrate for plants. I recently bought Flourite from PetSmart. I hated the amount of cleaning that had to be done, it just seemed to take forever because it was wet and had lots of fines in the bag to wash out. The plants really like it though so I'm probably going to use it again. I would be interested in your opinion and I am off to look for videos you have made on substrate.

    Hey there, I'm currently planning my set up for a planted tank (70L), and I'm planning on getting some specific substrates that hold the nutrients and further help the plants become established as you mentioned, but I'm just wondering if I should also be doing a layer of gravel substrate at some point?
    Thanks 😊

    What do you think of using an Under-gravel filter as a method to ‘recharge’ substrate?

  • @AlphaAussies
    @AlphaAussies 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just wanting to see if i got this right. So when i recieve a potted plant its better to submerge it in your tank with the pot to get used to the water parameters? And then plant them later? The exception is stem plants and rhyzomes

    Nice video...side note, dont dip in copper solution if you have shrimp. UV wands are amazing but pricey... Salt dips and hydrogen peroxid dips also work, but they must be very short duration dips and then thourough wash offs/soaking

    I've found that some sites and some plants can't ship to California due to customs/laws/whatever it is. :/
    My main concern is that my apartment building collects the packages and mail and I have to check for a package slip and sign for it... And they don't always have all of packages sorted and stuff the day of delivery. I think the plants probably will be fine, especially if I fuss about how my packages are live and time-sensitive and need them right away, but... I definitely won't be ordering fish, that's for sure!

      If you are near L.A. try CKs fish world in west covina. And check out SCAPE. Members from that club could definitely point you in the right direction for Cali aquascaping

      I keep a P.O. Box for the purpose of special items that I cannot trust to be left on my door step when i'm not at home. Not only does this help ensure your package does not get diverted or stolen, you can also use the post office app to notify you of when a package is delivered and you will always be ready when it arrives. As for UPS shipments, I use their app also and have standing delivery orders that nothing goes to my home address, but is instead left at the local UPS store about a mile from the house. Again, the app notifies me of deliveries and I go there to pick it up. Diverting it there costs nothing extra other than my gas to stop by there on the way home from work.

    Laughing so hard, Washington state is not like Texas with generally the all similar weather.....it has huge mountains and 0 degrees is very rare in the western side (zone 8 gardening) where I am, while pretty typical on the eastern side (like zone 4-5). Having just come from Texas, I understand your comment, but it still makes me laugh. I was waiting for you to say Alaska...which would make complete sense (my husband having grown up there). But regardless, I had no idea that water plants are so sensitive...yes, my raspberry plants had quite a shock going from 90f to 50f when we moved TX to WA, but that is a serious drop.

    How much does it cost generally for shipping aquatic plants in the US?
    Also what method do you ?
    In South Africa we mostly use a courier which delivers overnight country wide,costs about $8.

      @erikm8372 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s been a while for me but if I recall right, it was anywhere from $7 to $20, but most companies do free shipping if you spend over, like $40 or something. Lots of diff deals and options. Wish I’d known back then all that I know now… sigh

  • @DimasAgusta
    @DimasAgusta 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi, noob here... Have had my tank for almost a month now... As you said gravel/sand needs fertilizers, yet some say fish waste is enough to give nutrients for the plants that live within said tank. Is this true or false? To be specific I have a 10 liter tank (I'm guessing that translate to 3 gallons US?), A Betta and a few plants I believe are Amazon swords and hornwort on opposite ends of the tank. Any info is great whether I need any fertilizers or not. Thanks in advance. Love your videos btw.

  • @Danielle-zv2so
    @Danielle-zv2so 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Plants can go in a tank before being cycled but there won’t be anything for it to feed off of. (No fish waste)

    • @Danielle-zv2so
      @Danielle-zv2so 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea I’ve had my tank cycling on prime for 3 days and have 4 or so days left. I added some anubias congensis and Amazon sword. I have flourish but don’t know when to add it.

    • @Danielle-zv2so
      @Danielle-zv2so 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got snails in my aquarium from plants. They really aren't a big deal at all unless you have let's say a 2.5 gallon.
      They won't take over your tank, and since they don't hide... You can just take them out if they are causing problems

    Too fast, almost manic speaking. Not enough visual aids and it seems unprofessional. Work on a polished presentation and slow down; salient points and lots of visuals.
