Say what you what but musically this is finally fulfilling the potential that Black Metal have been promising and failing to deliver for the last 40 years. Finally a sound that matches the subject in how dark and harrowing it is. It took 3 generations of musicians and countless innovations (musical, instrumental, production values) but we're finally there.
I'm late to the party but played this album for the first time at 1AM just when Hurricane Ian (Sept 2022) was just starting to hit with 70+ mph gusts and coming across the state. My windows were starting to shake, it was blackk outside, the rain was wicked, and I was waiting for the roof to blow. This shit hit hardddd. Lorna blew the roof that night.
I totally agree. Dude this album Is probably my favorite all time deathcore album. Love the pain remains album but I do hope on there next album to go in this direction
I was loosing hope in metal, but lately I’ve been finding hidden gems like these guys. I will continue to dig more. It gives me hope that not all hope is lost.
How the hell this could be a hidden gem if the guys are signed by Century... They even played at a Grammys with the new vocal or something like that. Great bad, but not hidden one at least in the scene.
His vocals are so good dude. Perfect fit for Lorna Shore. I keep replaying 5:38 onward, the instrumentation for that section specifically is so good especially the double bass with those symphonic elements.
More Melodic than last three singles, Kinda sounds like shadow of intent here and there which is a good thing. This album is definitely gonna be one of the best albums of 2020.
I got the shadow of intent vibe too. Awesome song. I think the four releases with CJ have progressively gotten better each time with this one being the best. Enjoying them all though! Fuck I love this band!
Lorna Shore are kind of doing something entirely of their own. They're melodic, but they're not Shadow Of Intent, they're bm-influenced but they're not Carnifex, they're slammy but they're no slammy deathcore band. And that's what will make this album an amazing one, I call it.
lyrics: [Verse 1] Repulsive sermonizer, vile wrathful prophesier Psalms and chants disgorging in hateful tongues Line up his children one by one, forced to be hung Let the sin-filled air be ripped from their lungs All the daughters and the sons, and everyone you think you loved The life that you lived that you thought was enough Was not good enough when corrupt judgement day comes [Pre-Chorus] The immortal question The cesspool we rest in The immortal question When will you learn your fucking lesson? [Chorus] Immortal obscurity In death, was once beauty Eternal tyranny A life of purpose bound to cruelty [Verse 2] The mouth sewn prophets bleed from their lips Where the stitches of serpent skin begin to rip Unanswered and sick Abhorrent and soulless [Pre-Chorus] The immortal question The cesspool we rest in The immortal question When will you learn your fucking lesson? [Chorus] Immortal obscurity In death, was once beauty Eternal tyranny A life of purpose bound to cruelty [Bridge] The immortal question The cesspool we rest in The immortal question The final breath that slips through your lungs is when you'll learn your lesson The immortal question The final breath that slips through your lungs is when you'll learn your lesson All this madness, all of your depression, all of this madness The scripture they wrote will no longer be Force-fed and shoved down your throat [Chorus] Immortal obscurity In death, was once beauty Eternal tyranny A life of purpose bound to cruelty [Outro] The scripture they wrote will no longer be Force-fed and shoved down your throat
The black metal elements are phenomenal, (I'm an avid black metal and raw black metal listener) and they resemble some true bm stylings at times, like the intro was amazing, gave me goosebumps. Shadow of Intent is great, but they have a diff bm influence and style that they compose with, it's more polished, LS has some true bm phrasing at times with riff writing and sections that I'm just like damn, holy shit. Also at the end there I felt some major Wintersun vibes which to even be referencing them to point out a similarity in a "deathcore" song is just a testament to how these guys are taking everything everyone knows and slamming it on their heads, all the while still sticking to their roots with the heavy deathcore style slams. In closing as a true black metal listener and a brutal death metal listener of the unpopular fashion, Lorna are a different breed and they're completely fucking going off right now, also their lead guitarist is about to blow up, fucking shredder it's insane that he's relatively unknown, his phrasing and timing with his solos and leads are brilliant. Also CJ is a monstrosity and was made for this.
I couldnt agree more. When i heard this is hell for the first time i could hear the black metal influence. Death portrait as well has heavy black metal vibes to it.

Like forreal can we inded stfu bou cj, keep it music. He was not even 2 years now lorna is taking shit for his life.
I wont, innocent untill proven guilty, same thing happened to bassist from NeO and vocalist from Alpha Wolf, NEITHER were convicted of anything, but treated the same way from similar accusations from people. Fuck cancel culture, and fuck these spineless bands.
Nicki Minaj will be their new vocalist. Prepare to support.
@@MidnightHell421 I agree. Shit like this happens a lot, either it happened or it didn't. I think CJ should speak out and hopefully somehow resolve this
Such massive build up and cj delivers perfectly with the vocals lorna shore know what they're doing the way they adapted from tom to cj to will is amazing definitely a top tier deathcore band imo
this
agreed 100%
That breakdown hit harder than “effective immediately CJ will no longer be......”
Too soon?
lmao bruuuuuh
Dont remind me ... i might cry 😔
cummon bruh...smart
@Jason Jenson nigga really.
@Kai Lyle what did he do, i'm in the dark, can you tell me?
03:00 I just love how he goes “IMORTALLLLL” and then the guitar…
05:40 And this part makes me feel like I just died and resurrected.
i like it more when he goes ETERNAAAAAAL and then the drum goes brrrrrrrrrrrr

Stunning way to put it 🖤🤘
Say what you what but musically this is finally fulfilling the potential that Black Metal have been promising and failing to deliver for the last 40 years.
I wanna say how incredible CJ, Will, Alex and Dickie are. It’s not a competition, Gents. No one can say Mozart is better than Bach or Vivaldi.
Fuck yeah man! I fucks with it alll!
Don't forget Dane Evans, Kyle Anderson & Cameron from Methwitch !
I don't see why people compare them when they all have amazing vocals they all can do highs and lows what do you need more😂
literally just named all 4 of my favorite vocalists on point lol so true though

That breakdown was so filthy, I had to wash my hands afterwards.
I had to wash other body parts even
I can never truly put into words how awesome it is to have CJ back.
I assume you mean with his new band?
still their best work to date, i love pain remains but this album is so dark, i love it
I totally agree. Dude this album Is probably my favorite all time deathcore album. Love the pain remains album but I do hope on there next album to go in this direction
More like the direction/sound of sun//eater
Lorna is still trying to recapture the lighting in the bottle they created with this one
Well said. I love Lorna shore with will, he is a beast but immortal with CJ set the bar and to date they have not been able to get to that level again
When he said immortal for the first time I immediately pressed like.
I was loosing hope in metal, but lately I’ve been finding hidden gems like these guys. I will continue to dig more. It gives me hope that not all hope is lost.
try malediction by shadow of intent👍🏻
How the hell this could be a hidden gem if the guys are signed by Century... They even played at a Grammys with the new vocal or something like that.
Great bad, but not hidden one at least in the scene.
His vocals are so good dude. Perfect fit for Lorna Shore. I keep replaying 5:38 onward, the instrumentation for that section specifically is so good especially the double bass with those symphonic elements.
What I highlight most are the symphonic elements that they add to the song.
CJ just have the presence and mannerism that Will can't match. Vocally they're both great.
Will’s singing is impressive but my only beef with him is that he uses the gutturals in all his songs even a lot of the songs don’t need them there
It's like a symphony of metal genres. I'm just completely absorbed in it. A miasma of darkness upon the world.
Thumbs up for the appropriate use of the word ‘miasma’
Anyone else getting epic saga feeling when listening to the latest lorna shore? Seriously damn.
Nope
No i hear the same solo in 3 songs
absolutely not, sorry.
True masterpiece Of Deathcore + symphonic ,Melodic Black Metal Elements ..
Yeah it reminded me Melancholy
Definitely carries Dimmu Borgir-esque keys and choir that both bands like to use lately
Mitch Blythe hell yeah
Lorna Shore are kind of doing something entirely of their own. They're melodic, but they're not Shadow Of Intent, they're bm-influenced but they're not Carnifex, they're slammy but they're no slammy deathcore band. And that's what will make this album an amazing one, I call it.
WTFFFF IS THISSS!!!!!!! JUST DISCOVERED THIS BAND. MY EARS. Just don't even know.... wha... how? It's unmatched. This is unmatched.
lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Repulsive sermonizer, vile wrathful prophesier
Psalms and chants disgorging in hateful tongues
Line up his children one by one, forced to be hung
Let the sin-filled air be ripped from their lungs
All the daughters and the sons, and everyone you think you loved
The life that you lived that you thought was enough
Was not good enough when corrupt judgement day comes
[Pre-Chorus]
The immortal question
The cesspool we rest in
The immortal question
When will you learn your fucking lesson?
[Chorus]
Immortal obscurity
In death, was once beauty
Eternal tyranny
A life of purpose bound to cruelty
[Verse 2]
The mouth sewn prophets bleed from their lips
Where the stitches of serpent skin begin to rip
Unanswered and sick
Abhorrent and soulless
[Pre-Chorus]
The immortal question
The cesspool we rest in
The immortal question
When will you learn your fucking lesson?
[Chorus]
Immortal obscurity
In death, was once beauty
Eternal tyranny
A life of purpose bound to cruelty
[Bridge]
The immortal question
The cesspool we rest in
The immortal question
The final breath that slips through your lungs is when you'll learn your lesson
The immortal question
The final breath that slips through your lungs is when you'll learn your lesson
All this madness, all of your depression, all of this madness
The scripture they wrote will no longer be
Force-fed and shoved down your throat
[Chorus]
Immortal obscurity
In death, was once beauty
Eternal tyranny
A life of purpose bound to cruelty
[Outro]
The scripture they wrote will no longer be
Force-fed and shoved down your throat
I have to agree!!!! I'm more of a black metal person but listening to this I was very shocked
I couldnt agree more. When i heard this is hell for the first time i could hear the black metal influence. Death portrait as well has heavy black metal vibes to it.
@@andrewcable2494 fuck yes
Black metal elements? Stop doing drugs. This shit is way closer metalcore. Drums are way to loud to. Emoshit. A poor version of arsis
@@Kentirir Looked at your liked vids, I said I listen to "raw black metal", not the pussy shit you listen to. Borkfagnar lmfao. Lorna has clear bm influence. You're an entry level metalhead man, do your homework before you start passing judgement lol
Masterpiece. 11/10. What an incredible song. The talent is off the charts. I can't imagine anything ever being better than this. It's like this song was made just for ME. Perfection.

Do you like will the new vocalist?
Oh yeah, Will is a beast. They are just awesome. 👌
Yes I come back almost daily to listen to this masterpiece. Don't get me wrong, I love Lorna shore with will, he is one of the greatest but damn this album with CJ is a straight deathcore masterpiece 🤘☠️
Best era of Lorna Shore.
agreed
Best era started with Will.
I will remember 2019 by all the red moons in metal videos and album covers lol
Didn’t expect this kind of epicness in deathcore. This is the only deathcore song I can listen to non stop.

Try out shadow of intent, they’re pretty much just as brutal and still keep the orchestra in songs like melancholy and malediction
Infant Annihilator is for pure G’s
This song damn near moves me to tears. So incredible.
Same, especially that last fading scream at the end...CJ puts his whole heart into his vocals, I love it.
Makes me wonder if any of their songs have some deep personal meanings for these guys.
Agreed, chills and almost tears when I heard it. Epic sound in every regard!
Lorna and Will at the moment produced an EP that was absolutely fucking magnificent. And previous you had CJ which imo produced the best deathcore album to ever be released. Yeah I mean, there is basically nothing to add or take away from this band. They are simply astonishing in every shape and form.
I prefer CJ but Will is amazing in his own right
Cant agree more. CJ add a more versatile and poignant vibe to the whole track with EPIC symphony
OH MY FOCKIN' GOD, THIS IS SO SICKK 🔥🔥🔥

Never thought that a Deathcore chorus could be so catchy man, I can't take this chorus out of my head
Hey i know you you commented on whispered 's one song
CJ's vocals are irreplaceable .
Will Ramos is a god tier vocalist, but he don't have the same intensity and brutality that CJ haves.
will can't touch cj's brutality
Recently heard of this band… I didn’t know they had a different singer before. Holy heck CJ is definitely the best
Can't stop listening to this all day, worst part is - I can't find anything even close to this in quality. So sad that CJ had to leave, this band would've went above and beyond.
Yup this record was too sick, fookin shame they kicked him out.

Lots of comments about the vocals as usual (which are amazing duh), but can we appreciate how much of a beast Adam, Andrew and Austin are!? I feel like since Tom left all the focus has been on CJ and the overall sound but I'd like to commend each member on how fantastic they're doing. I'm not usually one to anticipate whole albums due to the singles mostly being the bangers but holy fuck I cannot wait for this album.
I am new to Lorna shore, don't they have a bass player??? The musicians here are amazing

Back when Lorna Shore was still good
I knew that Lorna boys will reveal CJ's final form. Don't get me wrong, CJ was already amazing before Lorna but holy shit, he's godlike now. Also, Adam's writing and guitar is sooo much ahead of our time. Truly work of art.
After watching the statement video CJ put out on TH-cam, I have mad respect for this guy. He seems like such a humble guy, and I feel his video was him being honest, genuine, and purely telling his side.
Usually, I hate music videos, don't even watch them because they take away from the music. But this, this adds to the amazingness of the song and makes me love it even more. Beautifully done, awesome performance, showmanship and concept. Not to mention the legitimate important lesson of what people are willing to do when in a mindset of fear - definitely something to remember here in 2022
This might be my favorite riff in a Lorna Shore song!
I want a song which includes CJ McCreery, Dickie Allen and Alex Terrible
That would be so heavy it would put a whole in the space time continuem
What about Ben Duerr of shadow of intent?
Look up deadweight by lowlife. Has Alex, cj, Ben duer, Tom barber, cj McMahon Dan Watson and some more. It’s fucking heavy
I agree....... but as long as Phil is alive he needs to be included just out of respect.
@@kannonburchette4079 the fact that dickie wasn't included is insulting frankly
