Couple years back I said to a Swiftie "Who's Taylor Swift?" Her face went red with rage. Was a legit question too, I don't really follow many celebrities.
Let's be real, she's been one of the biggest stars in the world for nearly two decades, is one of the best selling musicians of all time, and is a literal billionaire. I'm not even a fan of her, and I'd look at you like there was something wrong with you if you acted like you didn't know who she was.

These skits keep me grounded, and remind me of how good we had it in the 90’s! (I was in high school then. I could sit down without making sounds, and my bones didn’t ache when I woke up each morning…)
As a fan since Debut (but not a Swiftie, never a Swiftie) who saw TSwift on her Fearless tour, my fan card has been steadily declining more and more since probably Reputation (excluding Folklore/Evermore and I did like most of Lover.) Told my normally sweet sister, a true Swiftie, that I wasn’t overly fond of “Robin” on TTPD (have yet to listen to the complete album) and she said, “You’d understand it if you were a mom.” You’re a brave one for this, Ryan, and it’s much appreciated!
90s had its share of media-induced environmental panic attacks too. Holes forming in the ozone, the fear that any random storm might be acid rain and kill us all, the ice age that we were sure was just about to start, the upcoming extinction of all trees from deforestation and using too much paper. I think previous decades before that had their scares as well, but I'm not sure of examples off the top of my head. The things I've mentioned were all being hyped up while I was growing up. All of it was always presented as the end of the world being just a few years away... until they stopped mentioning it and moved onto the next thing to fearmonger us with.
@@MuljoStpho My comment was more about the Character of this specific 90s host than the 90s altogether. If you're a regular watcher of the show, You'll know he's a bit wonky.
@@MuljoStpho Actually the ozone hole and acid rain were real things. There's still an ozone hole, because someone used CFCs again, probably in China. The ice age thing had a kernel of truth in it too, for a while global temperatures dropped due air pollution, but global warming reversed it quickly. Another thing like that from much earlier is that someone calculated that large cities will soon drown in horseshit from the growing traffic. But we invented cars before that prediction could come true.
@@MuljoStpho "media-induced" I mean, you're not entirely wrong, but you're strongly reading like an anti-environmentalist nutjob. Ozone-depleting chemicals were a legit hazard that we managed to resolve like reasonable human beings. Acid rain is another instance where we won by creating new emissions regulations. Another win for reasonable humans. Some component of the media did run stories about a looming ice age in the 90s, but scientists did not actually think that at the time. It was basically some earlier speculation that the media ran with and pretended was a thing scientists believed.
For anyone who wasn't alive in the 90s - the graphics and music of the show are closer to what you would have seen in 1991-1992 than in 1997. By 1997 everything was more about early CGI and "3D" effects.
I’m not officially a swiftie but I am officially a branchie. Anyone else miss Michelle Branch? She was one of Taylor’s biggest influences but then her label ruined her career and she’s been living on the other side of fame since with a shelved album. Which I’ve listened to; it’s incredible!

“A general and persistent feeling of dread” is VERY relatable
Her flight frequency ✈️ 😮 good lord
Who cares, I saw a picture of her wearing clothing.
I’m really proud of Taylor, finally breaking into the mainstream such that even Ryan George made a sketch based on her!
breaking into the mainstream?
I don't remember ever thinking she was anything other than mainstream...
Her dad literally owned the first label she was at.
wow this video really points out how bad things have turned since 1997
When this series finishes, all the videos should be compiled together into one.
If Ryan ever stops this series, which I hope he doesn't, it must end in 2004 with the death of the 90s Guy!! Maybe we finally get to see it, then the reporter just goes, *"Welp, I guess I'm never getting back now!"* 😔 😆 🤣 😂
@@dr.braxygilkeycruises1460 That sounds pretty good, yeah.
OH HECK YEAH!!!!!
I AM SO IN WITH THAT!! Hopefully he could include his screen rant videos too!!!
sounds like a great idea barely an inconvenience!!
1:12 Columbia house!!!
😀😆😂🤣
Totally forgot.
Also Ryan is wow wow wow with the cleverness level of this one.
A really fast suit maker?! Brilliant... seriously
AGAIN: love the time-traveler vids. Plz keep these going. My fave after the big PM.
My favorite Show. 😍
This 90’s series is fantastic. Gotta do one on the debate the other night!!
I’m so happy this is back
The time-traveler is my favorite. This is a keeper format. You’re a genius, Ryan. Thanks for all the laughs.
Few people truly deserve to be on TH-cam. Luckily, Ryan is always two of them.
Finally here first, you do great work man thank you so much for the laughs throughout the years
It’s about time! 0:07
Not everyone gives a care about her. She is what we call, "white famous." I know her name, but literally could not name even one song she sings. Now, Erykah Baddu, *_HER_** I know!*
@@seigeengine I'd be confused too, but rage? I've only ever been shocked when someone says they don't know someone/something well known, but never angry, let alone having my face go red because of it.
@@InvdrDana I mean, I agree, but I'm not prone to fanaticism in the first place.
I didn't even realize you were making these anymore, I'm so happy.
As someone who genuinely doesn't know much about Taylor Swift, I consider this my official source of information on the subject.
wait that shirt might genuinely be one of the best youtuber merch designs
I just need a small disclaimer printed on it, that says "persistent feeling of dread not included"
Someday a time traveler will find these skits and be really really effed up. 🎉
I've just now realized this, this needs to be a real show, maybe a streaming service or sum shii
It is a show, you're watching it now... on a streaming service...
Don’t know how you’d fit a TV in a porter potty…
@@Vincent_Beers I know, but I meant Netflix or Hulu, it's not a real show, at least not yet
@@F.F-Productions Real just mean it exists, you just watched it, proving it exists. And there's no reason to care about netflix or hulu if it's already free on youtube.
@@BLUE-dw4tc what does... What does that have to do with what I said?
These skits keep me grounded, and remind me of how good we had it in the 90’s! (I was in high school then. I could sit down without making sounds, and my bones didn’t ache when I woke up each morning…)
I was so afraid this series wasn’t going to have any more installments. Definitely my favorite of Ryan George Universe
I'm surprised he didn't beg to be brought back home again, like he always does.
Seems like he gave up.
DUDE THE SERIES IS BACK YESSS
just slowly unraveling the mystery of how producer guy dies
I love ALL Ryan George videos!!!! ❤
The most surprising thing is that the Host from the 1990s is more concerned about the Environment than Popular music.
@@MuljoStpho
Actually the ozone hole and acid rain were real things.
@@MuljoStpho "media-induced"
I mean, you're not entirely wrong, but you're strongly reading like an anti-environmentalist nutjob.
By 1997 everything was more about early CGI and "3D" effects.
dontt be that Xer
@@thac0twenty377 I'm a millennial. I just thought some people might find it interesting 🤷♀
I think we call this Saved by the Bell chic, where the 90's hadn't quite yet managed to escape 80's aesthetic influences.
I figured the host would have his face filmed on a fisheye lens camera too.
Youre right. It wasnt the memphis aesthetic at this point in time.
I’m not officially a swiftie but I am officially a branchie. Anyone else miss Michelle Branch? She was one of Taylor’s biggest influences but then her label ruined her career and she’s been living on the other side of fame since with a shelved album. Which I’ve listened to; it’s incredible!
Please NEVER stop making these
1997 was a good year. Well, not February, but summer was awesome and autumn perfect!!!
