Geat subject i always struggle with VW wiring , i will need to rewire a few buses , boy this will really help me. I had a old 1973 super beetle it was a electrical nightmare i think it was under some evil spell..it beat me like a drum.

I LOVE YOU, VOLKSWAGENPLANET GUY!!! It's June 30, 2021. I Just installed a rebuilt transaxle in my, guess what... 1972 SUPER BEETLE!!! I'm planing on doing a moderate Cal Look restoration. My first challenge is the Starter Wiring. Next task will be the Horn circuit!! I just watched your 1st Intro video and I'm Syked to get started!!! Thank you for doing this series! Looking forward to viewing all of them!

@@Volkswagenplanet awesome! I've done a 61 and a 65 complete from headlight to bumper. The superbeetles have a "few" more wires to figure out. And the wire diagrams I find online aren't really doing it for me. The hand drawn ones that come with the new complete harnesses are much easier to follow I think. I was about to just order a complete new harness... Now I think I'll wait for ep. 3!

Go to Jbug.com there will be a section to click on to get free wire diagrams. These are factory color coded correctly. They are available for all years. Hey, I'm new to the hobby. I'm not sure what I'm doing. I have a 1971 Super beetle. A Brown and white stripe from the turn signal going to fuse. Would you please tell me which fuse to connect it?
Does not go to a fuse. Once you hook it up to the dimmer relay on " S" then the yellow wire on the dimmer relay goes to the fuse box. 5th fuse going from drivers side to passenger side.
Volkswagenplanet Yes I Bought this pack: www.mecatechnic.com/es-ES/set-de-10-fusibles-cilindricos_VC31600.htm my vw has 12 fuses and I can't find a 12 pack of fuses (I have the old ones installed) is it ok with this pack of 10?
@@Volkswagenplanet turn signal, brake light not work and no warning lights in the speedo. New flasher relay. Fuse 8 pops when i use the hazards. Tired 2 different turn switches and same thing
@@vwmadness1591 let me take a look at the books tonight. Pop a fuse is a ground issue. The rear tail light ground is inside the engine area. It's on the left side of the engine on the flat metal area. Should be a screw and male spade sticking up. I had the same issue with mine. Check your grounds. Almost always the issues with VWs.

It goes to the dimmer relay switch
It goes to the letter " S" spade on the relay. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more help.
