Relaxing Narrowboat Cruise to a Picturesque Market Town

- Continuing our journey along The Lovely Ashby™️ we leave Stoke Golding and its farm shop charms and end up in Market Bosworth - via a stop at an ice cream boat (we chatted with the owner who was a very nice young boater, so do support them if you’re in the area!). Market Bosworth was super picturesque with some amazing old buildings, the most charming Studio Ghibli-film-esque cottage I've ever seen in the UK, and unbelievably fast internet speeds?? This canal really has it all.
Really hope you enjoy it! See you next week when our Ashby jaunt continues 🤓

Kris, thanks for the great content. Each new posting is a new adventure. I have to say we love your style. When we get a notification that you’ve posted we always ask what you guys are up to and what you’ll be wearing. The wicked dry sense of humor just makes us smile from ear to ear. I bet you’re fun at parties?
It's probably testament to the UK's cost of living crisis that the London house prices in the little "jokes" we were cracking at the end of April are already feeling lower than actual going rates these days.
King of the water voles lives there. 🙂
What a joy. Another lovely video. You can tell Market Bosworth is posh. They have “Nationally important Water Voles” we only have mildly aspirational water voles where we are.
hahaha!
Those are some damn fine looking chooks ❤
I swear they must have a “feather & makeup” team 🤔
🙂🐿🌈❤️
P.s re the swan nest for 800k.
I’m going to say 1 million.
Due solely to it being a detached dwelling. Not semidetached, it’s a stand alone dwelling. Albeit a studio townhouse.
I always look forward to seeing your thumbnail picture appear and know that I will be about to watch a beautifully crafted video of your travels, interspersed with gentle humour and joy at seeing all these new places along the canal. Thank you so much for sharing ❤
Thank you very much 🥰
You are so talented, love love love your photography your humor brightens my day,l am so happy for you l hope you are as happy as you seem 😅
Ahh thanks so much Helen 🥰❤️
You must be the most stylish continuous cruiser out there, Kris! Love your looks. Because I’m very nosey I’d like to know which clothes you’d rated boat worthy and which didn’t make the cut (see what I did there). 👖👗👚
That’s a great idea, I’ll note it down for a future video! And you’re tooo kind ❤️
Lovely video per usual. If its not too much of an invasion of your privacy, would you and Andrew be willing to show what changes you have made to interior of boat? When you did the initial walk through you had plans for individual workspaces, has that come to fruition?
We will at some point! We actually haven’t done much to it yet, we wanted to live in the space before we made any big changes. For my office I was dead set on ripping everything out and putting in a big desk asap, but I’ve actually really enjoyed having the bed in there and chilling on it while I work! So now I’m not sure what I want to do 😂 I think the answer might be to talk to some really good joinery people to get something custom made for the space. But I will definitely vlog it when we do!
Good idea on living with the space for awhile.
Yet another lovely relaxing video to watch; almost a meditative experience. You have such a perceptive eye for the little details in the environment. It goes to show that to create an enjoyable vlog you don't need clickbait titles or drama around every corner!
Thanks so much for your lovely comment!! ❤️
Narration is brilliant. Musical choices are perfectly matched with the visuals. Just the perfect amount of baby everything (and excitement about spotting the babies!)
Pure magic. ❤❤❤
thank you so much!!
Thanks
Thank you!
Oh dam it finished, so suddenly... that was beautiful. Thank you.
Beautiful stretch of canal to cruise through. Loved the house with the very decorated garden. I agree that an Ice Cream Shop is a definite must stop zone. Wonderful as always. 🦆😊🤗 Kathy
Thank you for watching Kathy ☺️🍦
Chicks and ice cream. What more can one ask! Perfection yet again. I love your canal stories; every single time. Your eye and your artistic nature never waivers. Thank you for the videos!
Thank you, so nice to hear that 🥰
Lovely, lovely video Kris -- and how simply wonderful that opening track from Kylie Dailey was -- sublime... OK, onto what I liked/loved. "My god its an actual coffin - holy shit (and in a way it truly is holy shit if you see what I mean)... stopping for an ice cream "it seems like it would be wrong not to"... I admire your moral compass on that one. Next is Nest: "In London that nest would be like 800k - it's only one bedroom". Then 100k for an abandoned piece of rail infrastructure and 2k a month for a studio apartment (tree house)... I was starting to think of you as Kirsty and Phil and not Kris and Andrew. Then the tiny duck house "Ok 3k - its a detached!!" -- so funny. BUT - hold the front page, stop the press...I have not told you my favourite "bit" in this episode...the bit I watched again and again and smiled. Film making is not always about grand, sweeping gestures - sometimes the smallest of things catches the eye and moves the narrative on or makes an impression. For me, this happened at 05-18 when you held the camera up, pressed the shutter release and - at the same time - cut to Andrew. Just a lovely bit of editing and easy to miss if you were not playing attention. For me that was the Gold Star moment of the video. Well done Kris and Andrew - keep up the flow of dialogue, the speculation on house prices, the adoration of ducklings and the innocent pleasure of simply buying an ice cream. Pleasant is what these videos are and pleasant is no longer a dirty word! Have a great week and I look forward to the next mooring - just don't call it posh or Andrew will not want to tie up. Cheers, Martin.
What a lovely way to cool down from the heat here by watching your beautiful vid. thanks for that. keep 'em comin'! i do love the ducks and chickens. Enjoy yourselves

The little three wheeled truck is a Reliant Ant if anyone wants to know.
It is indeed! Such a cool little truck
Ice cream stops are always worth it. Keep smiling.
Always! 🥰
this is going to lead to a mainstream television series isn't it
unless of course you & Andrew say nope
because you're shy & retiring or
similar (& of course that's all ok)...
but if it does I'm just wondering how one should categories it?
documentary, leisure & sport, drama, comedy, fiction, quiz show, news, arts, food & drink, fashion, nature, the weather, sc-fi, history or
well the list just goes on,
& on
& ( yeah you guessed it)
onwards...
slowly of course
somehow
in some
genre
brilliant
Not sure telly would have us, I think we’d need an industrial strength profanity bleeper for a start 😅 no but thank you very much Lloyd, you’re too kind!
A man after my own heart bracers 😅loving your vlogs 💖 always stop for ice-cream 🎉
Erm, there should have been some kind of jumpscare warning for that Thomas the tank engine...
Those thatched roofs are so gorgeous
So dreamy!
💜💙💚
The gorgeous yellow fields were just breathtaking. And that little thatched house? Good lord it was delightful. Beeng able to peek around like this is so charming. And I'm always grateful when you share iy with us. It often makes me miss Britain but this is such a genuine delight every time you update. Thank you.
