6th gear is so tall, could have also reached the same speed at 5th gear. Anyways, I sold my 2014 CB650F and got a XSR700 for a bit more money, the CB650F has higher top speed, but the yamaha is 30kg lighter and and more agile, and a lot more fun on the mountains here in Thailand... I used to do 18Km/l on the CB650F, and now can do 24Km/l on the XSR700.
Yes it is much more bike, but for me i don’t want all that power. To use 50% of the xsr900 power i need to go on a highway. But i can easily push the 700 and improve on skills. I used to have a CB500F and think that bike is just so good spot. Both the xsr700 and CB500 are so Practical and cost effective.
@@brfsa Understandable. My first bike was a 1995 KLR650 with big bore, jetting, pipe and it was fun to use all the power everywhere. Then I got 1995 CBR1000F and using 100% power required the highway because it was a heavy bike so stopping and handling were not as nimble. Now I have 2022 ZX6-R KRT and it has as much power as the CBR, but is much lighter and has better suspension/brakes. It is much faster and it is easier to use the power. The XSRs are very cool bikes. My friend had an XSR900 until recently.
@@brfsa xsr700 also has a lot of torque Löw in the revs so it’s fun and you don’t have to rev it up. I prefer the Inline 4 engine of Honda’s 650s though their bikes are heavier

Hello cb300f owner here, gonna get the 650r as my second bike (hopefully) and it's crazy to me how people are calling this bike slow. 237kph?!?!? That's almost 150mph, quick question. On what planet is this slow? cause I'd love to visit said planet? A better question is how much faster do you really need to go?? Especially on the street. I mean if top speed is really what you're after a sprocket change, light weight exhaust, battery and some other do dad's along with a tune could probably get you to 160mph or more! And considering this bike is so much cheaper than a 600 (both upfront cost and insurance wise) not to mention more comfortable than a 600 it's a no brainier. I know looks are subject but to me it also looks nicer than Honda's 600 but hey that's just me. So go ahead feel free to hate this bike because it doesn't go 300mph but just remember, you look like a fool for doing so.
It is fairly slow acceleration, especially past about 160 kph. Soon get used to it and want more. The CBR 650R is a good intermediary purchase between a starter bike and what you really want.
It was my choice stepping up from a 250. I have an R6 as well and that will beat you up with acceleration. The 650R is in no way slow but it's far more forgiving than a supersport and more comfortable to ride. The supersports are awesome, you won't experience them fully off the track. The literbikes, IMO, belong on a track.
It is an excellent bike... with all those assistance that came to aid when things got tough.excellent value for money too for what I know.but there are some people including me that likes the thrill of going 350++kph (Kawasaki h2r can go 400kph)and the difficulty of controlling the wildcard especially on the corners.the type of riding people scream at isle of man TT .to each his own.
Will say time and time again, they are made for different purposes, this is an A2 license friendly bike, made for every day use, hence less power at top but more low end grunt. Stop comparing two different categories of bikes.
It's 94hp so about what we'd expect. Was there an incline? Did you rerun it with GPS might have speedo misreading the actual speed. My R6 shows +5 to the actual speed.

So that why you see i have to shift up to 6th gear very early because i want to rev back engine to get the torque. Just like Shinobu said. The bike has not enough torque to go faster when i have testing it. and may be this bike is Thailand Specs that has a bit lower power than EU Specs.
Not bad, but they only 90hp.... and it runs outta puff power at 130mph (200kph), lovely display... and a gear indicator which is nice and big to see. Only thing is... with respect to it... it's a 650 cc sport touring R.... so it should be quick.... but a 2011-2013/4 CBR600F has more power, higher torque rate in the mid and high range of the revs, is faster and has a higher top speed, it is also a lighter bike and better on fuel by a fair bit. Now the 650R is a lovely bike, and the display is defianlty better than alot of the others and there and it does sound good... very good and it been a Honda it has a solid engine..... but for what you would pay.... your better off with a 600F I no they stopped making them in favour of these... but the 600f is also a stunning bike, sounds great, and if you stick a command and flash it will give a stock 600rr a run for its money if not walk over them. A 600f tops out about 258kph which is about 158mph.... from a sports touring bike that isn't sat as aggressive, will do 60mph or 100kph in 3.3 seconds. I'm not basing the new 650r, I just think they went backwards a bit. The 650f was a big leap backwards losing nearly 30hp from the 2013 cbr600f, now they're picking it back a bit with this bike... but it's still under powered and runs outta off a little early, as a pro though it is a stunning bike and like the 600f and 650f it comes with abs which is a good extra as standard, and I love the fact it has a fuel gauge and a gear indicator. .. I just feel I'm a few...only a few areas it's missing some of the spark and finesse the cbr600f had, put them together...... now that would be a amazing bike. Either way still a good choice of bike to get..... still cant get over the bikes dash, stunning! 👍
How much faster do you need to go? Especially on the street, to me this is the perfect package light weight considering it's an inline 4 and fully faired bike, great looks and comfort and let's not forget about that exhaust note.
a good way showing the real top speed in this video via speedomtr...believe or not .. it is up to everyone ..however... with the fact ........zhongguo cfmoto 650 cc gt with 71 hp can reach 210 kmph is not too bad if compare to cbr 650 r... of course with a lower price.. so stop to underestimate zhongguo products.....as latin america european countries use the products without any complaint ....
So I just bought this bike, is the gearing kind of low? Because it feels like it doesn’t want to go 50 miles an hour in first. Straight up, is it slow that’s what I’m trying to ask because I haven’t really gotten mine past 8000 RPM yet so does it takeoff in first gear when you do?
Tiago Vieira this is sports touring bike created for everyday and long term use with less maintenance needed. Compared to the 600rr, it need attention more on maintenance since the engine put more heavy stress for racing purpose
@wadsawd wads CBR650R is a sport touring not much power CBR600RR is an Track/Sport/Race bike the power output is not the same but people said this CBR650R is slow but for under 100HP engine it's good enough.
Just to make a point here. 237 km/h is not the actual top speed. The rider doesn't pushes until the red line in last gear. Also, watching the revs go during the acceleration, the rider wasn't giving full throttle.
Christopher Guzik I’am a test rider guy in this video. The reason why I shifting up the gear so quick because it doesn’t have torque enough to increase rev and speed to redline (In fact it can but i have to wait maybe 5-6 more seconds but the road has not long enough to wait for that) . So i have to shift sixth gear early to rev down engine back in torque range to make speed increasing quicker. For me i think it can reach speed to 245+ km/h but it need to take really (really) long road to get that speed. And I twisted full throttle since second gear. 😁

i dont know it seems a little slow from 100-150. a kawasaki z900 or yamaha mt-09 is only a grand more expensive so im thinking the z900 with 125hp would be better and it has more torque too.

XSR900 would be perfect choice. 22 more hp than the CBR650R with nearly 15kg less weight. Will be more agile and quicker with similar top speed.

จริงๆแล้วตัว650ของฮอนด้า ถือว่าเป็นรถที่ทำความเร็วได้ดีมากรุ่นนึงเลย แต่ผมว่ามันติดแค่ตรงที่มันไต่ระดับความเร็วช้าไปนิดนึง
ถ้าปลดกล่องละ คิดว่าจะได้ 14,000 รอบไหม ตามสเปคบอก 12,000 รอบ ในคลิปได้แค่ 11,000 รอบเอง แต่ก็อย่างว่า อยู่ที่ผู้ทดสอบ น้ำหนัก ลม ผิดถนน และอื่นๆ ผมว่าถ้าปลดกล่อง เปลียนกรอง ท่อ จูนดีๆ 265 +++
ใช่ๆ265มีเกินแน่นอน237รอบแค่11000เองนะ
เห็นตัว F เมืองนอกจัดชุดใหญ่ ปลดล็อคกล่อง ล่อไป 267+ ทำไปได้...

Tiago Vieira this is sports touring bike created for everyday and long term use with less maintenance needed. Compared to the 600rr, it need attention more on maintenance since the engine put more heavy stress for racing purpose

Just to make a point here. 237 km/h is not the actual top speed. The rider doesn't pushes until the red line in last gear. Also, watching the revs go during the acceleration, the rider wasn't giving full throttle.
Christopher Guzik I’am a test rider guy in this video.
The reason why I shifting up the gear so quick because it doesn’t have torque enough to increase rev and speed to redline (In fact it can but i have to wait maybe 5-6 more seconds but the road has not long enough to wait for that) . So i have to shift sixth gear early to rev down engine back in torque range to make speed increasing quicker.
For me i think it can reach speed to 245+ km/h but it need to take really (really) long road to get that speed.
And I twisted full throttle since second gear. 😁

i dont know it seems a little slow from 100-150. a kawasaki z900 or yamaha mt-09 is only a grand more expensive so im thinking the z900 with 125hp would be better and it has more torque too.

It doesn't cross 11000 rpm at 6th gear ! I think peak power should be at 12.5-13k rpm as the redline is at 14k rpm.
Redline is around 12500 rpm actually....

ไม่เกี่ยวอะค่ะ ตามหลักกลศาสตร์ยานยนต์แล้วถ้าเกียร์ที่5 มันรอบสูงแล้วเข้าเกียร์6 ปกติความเร็วยังไงมันก็ต้องตกไปวูบหนึ่งอยู่ดี เพราะอัตราทดเกียร์สุดท้ายของพาหนะมันต่างจากเกียร์ก่อนสุดท้ายเยอะมาก พวกรถแข่งเลยต้องมีการทำเฟืองเกียร์ใหม่ขึ้นมาเรื่อยๆให้เหมาะกับเครื่องยนต์และสภาพสนามค่ะ ไม่เกี่ยวว่ารอบเหลือไม่เหลือด้วย P ของเครื่องมันสุดๆแค่นั้นแล้วค่ะ ต่อให้เป็นเกียร์ต่ำ มันก็มีมาแต่ torque powerไม่มีอยู่ดีเผลอๆจะได้แค่220ด้วยซ้ำ

no where near the red line in 6th gear, I seen vids of people going 248 / 256km/h with that bike
true... just like the cbr250rr series. there is a video in facebook that i have watched. the bike reaches 232km/h at 13.5krpm. almost at FULL 14K RPM REDLINE.
