8 of the most beautiful horses I had ever seen just showed up in my feed one day. This was my first FH video and is still my favorite. I think one of the few videos where Yvonne wasn't riding Uniek to move them. 5 of the horses are still at Stal G with Frieda having her own foal now. Can't wait for the others to become moms and can't wait for Gea to return. She is off doing dressage now. Amazing video

Friesians have such a fluid and lovely gait. In watching your videos, I have noticed a difference between their movement when under saddle and when moving freely - no rider. When under saddle, still lovely, but when on their own, gosh their gait is so light and fluid. Just beautiful.

This took me back to my younger days of childhood. This is how my parents always moved our horses, from pasture to pasture. With an older calm mare as a lead horse.

I did not know what a Friesian breed of horse was until I watched your channel. They are beautiful and appear to have courage. Today I re-watched a video titled Rescue of 200 Horses By 7 Women In 2006 (Netherlands). I read the details of the rescue and learned that a woman, Mickey Jijboer, posted on a Friesian horse forum that the horses needed rescue immediately. The other 6 women came with their horses and along with Mickey rode across to the tiny island to lead the herd across the frigid and dangerous waters. I noticed many of the horses stranded on the island were Friesian by their unique gait as they came out of the water and into the pasture set up by a large group of rescuers. It is a very emotional video to watch, but the story of the success is heartwarming. I would recommend that viewers of your videos, if they haven't seen that one, watch it for the love of the horses. I sincerely am not detracting from your channel which is so positive and enlightening about the Friesians. Sometimes we as humans should see the other side of what happens to animals and the efforts of people to rescue and save them. Thank you from North Hills CA USA 08-23-2019

It makes me so happy to see how you care for your horses. You give them so much space and that makes my heart so happy. They also get to live in herds and that´s so important for horses. You always handle them with so much kindness and you can really see that these horses have the best life ever. Wish all horses could live like this.

In addition to simply beautiful scenery and horses, the dynamics are so interesting / fascinating, ie: equine behavior. And, what good condition the humans are in to lead, guide, direct at the pace they move - - - Yet another most enjoyable experience to watch / learn about 👍 🐎 👍 ........

I found this very stressful. I don't know why. I love these horses but I have never ridden a horse, I don't know any horses, I haven't seen a horse in years. They represent another world of wind, air, sun, grass, open water, flowers, fields, trees, hills, stables, foals and fillies and clouds against a blue sky - another reality, another way, another life. I want to live again. 🐎

Maximus Opus wonderfulanmals If I had my time again I would certainly have a pair for driving. I have ridden and driven horses all my life, from being an evacuee on a farm during the WW2. I am hoping to get back in the saddle after Christmas, when I shall be 88 in February. I now have a very good mounting block, so it should go OK. I have been held up with a Bradley broken ankle, nothing to do with horses. I love them to bits. Roma Severne.

Yes, I did enjoy eating the green grass with the horses. I so enjoyed watching how all of you coordinate together into keeping the herd together moving one place to another. That was quite a job, especially the older man who trotted. He must be in fit but a beautiful run alongside the leading horse. That was so much fun to watch everything that you people do with these beautiful horses. If I had a farm/ranch and had room for horses, I would choose Friesian Horses to own, ride, groom and everything else. I have cousins who live in Montana and some own horses to help get them around on cows. I am simply just a city lady.

I find it interesting every time you move the horses. It's wonderful to watch how they follow the lead horse. I know what you mean about not being on a bike very often. I don't ride a bike at all, but I had to go to Physical Therapy years back and one of the pieces of equipment they put me on was an exercise bike. When I got on the bike, I must have only been on it 30-seconds and I jumped off. I looked at the Physical Therapist like he was crazy, lol! Well, I ended up building up enough strength to be able to be on the exercise bike for 15 minutes and I was using it every day. They had other equipment I was building my strength up as well. As it turned out, I didn't need the exercise - but needed major surgery instead. At least I was in good physical shape when I had surgery. But yes! You definitely get tired out when you're not used to riding a bike. I imagine some of the terrain you were riding on was giving you some resistance also.

@@FriesianHorses We went to our state fair like I wanted to see the horses. They might have had some friesians, but I'm not sure. I was able to interact with 8 horses, bu you could only get your hand and part of your lower arm in to physically pet them. I loved them all. One, no one was paying attention to one horse because he was standing sideways, most likely taking a nap. I stood there long enough to get his attention, and he was such a sweetheart. He gave my hand kisses. I went to go see him again, and all I had to say was, "I'm back!" and he came right to me. He gave my hand kisses again, but then he started nibbling a little bit with the edge of his teeth. I laughed and told him he was a little stinker. I went to bed smiling that night. No matter how short the connection is, it is always special to me.

It's so interesting that you use the natural behavior of the horses to get them to do what you want safely!

I can't get over how the horses just follow a leader without running all over the place. I also find it interesting that they don't cross the water to wander off out of the pasture, they must be very well trained besides being beautiful.

"Normally we use Uniek (for the lead mare). But she isn't at home right now." Just wondering, where does she go? It is beautiful land.
