My dad died a year ago at 65 and had just found a td18 that has hardly been used. I've been obsessed with it and so impressed, been cheating on my wife with it.
My Dad had a TD9 big machine I thought at the time but I was a kid still had a lot of power pulled 8 ft Rome disc had to load it down it would walk with it

Scrapers are still used today, but not much. These days they use an excavator to load off road rear dumps, then a dozer spreads the loads. A loader is also used to clean up around the excavator. 4 Machines, instead of a scraper. Go figure.
Oh wow to watch these again uncle had a td 24 breaking land and making roads seen him work for days / weeks to get done what I can do now with a D10 N can in one day you imagine what they`d have thought if a 10 N or 11 N was ever made totally impractical machine for the fuel used but little did they know eh Thanks for uploading this we had a John deere 40 c too HA HA HA .
This is back when equipment was built to last. Hundreds of them are still going today

My left ear is ringing...
Skidded timber with a '48 TD 14 in 1990, she would start in 20 below weather and pull 3000 board ft of oak up 40 degree slopes. Love the red machines!
I had a 42 TD 14 to skid with would snap 1/2 chokers no problem if you weren’t careful
When the TD24 was introduced it was the largest bulldozer.
