    Your coaching is nothing but fundamentals,and logical structure to the swing in golf. I have also been real athletic. I'm 48 and been following for 1year and seriously practicing golf daily. Your program is by far the best . That's only my option. Keep feeding me logic

    I found this years ago with trying to "hold my right shoulder back throughout the downswing". Sorta similar, but you lesson is even more visual and works great. Thanks.

    In another video you said "a lot of people haven't heard this" yeah this exact way of thinking about it is really new to me. Definitely needed your style of teaching to have some breakthroughs, sometimes you just need another set of drills and swing thoughts to make what you're already trying to do suddenly work... amazing!

    I always had this problem, but what was shocking to me when watching myself was how prevalent and noticeable it was even when i was hitting little 25 yard pitch shots. This makes a lot of sense to me now because I definitely focus on all body turn! Thanks for a good explanation.

    I think everyone should turn their back to the target, hit one, then face the target and try to hit one. You’ll see it’s almost impossible to hit the ball while facing the target but so much easier when your back is to the target. Great lesson

    It is absolutely the hardest thing to learn in golf, but once you get the feel, you will need to practice the sequence over and over. It's all about timing. And don't swing too hard.

    • @harleyhall4485

      I found the key to it is trying to not move your head in the downswing. Your shoulders will stay away from target for a second while the club drops and the hips open.

    Great explanation. Another way to think about it. On downswing your left shoulder should pull away from your chin to get maximum distance. One word of caution. You will have trouble doing what is taught here if you are not physically able. That is why doing stretching exercises that loosen the hips/pelvis really helps. There are plenty of exercises on YT on how to do this. It really helps to make this more natural.

    I like the sound of keeping the back turned away facing a ball behind. To be clear: you want the ball behind you to be on the ball to target line? When I've done disassociation drills I find it works best when I think about the lower abs or obliques pulling behind me in a straight line forces type of way as opposed to the hips themselves. Is there any reason you can think of why abs or obliques wouldn't be a good area to think about for the disassociation?

    • @PorzakGolf
      @PorzakGolf  หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      We just try to keep it incredibly basic what happens below the belt(lower body), and what happens above the belt(upper body)… we could absolutely cater that instruction to whoever’s in front of us if they like, thinking about specific muscles to make the move easier on them. As far as the drill, you can put the ball a good 2 feet behind the ball you’re hitting (on the ball line) and it can also help straighten out your takeaway on the way back or you can just put the ball between your feet and the ball 2 feet behind you and just keep your chest facing that longer! Very simple drill I use that helps many people with this!

    I shot 76 in a round three years ago with 3 birdies. My only swing thought was keeping the back towards target and swing the club under my lead armpit. And I wasn’t sure if that’s the right idea but it worked.

    I’ve incorporated so much of the Porzak Golf techniques into my swing for the better! I still struggle with firing the hands with the hips. Hips, no problem, but the hands?!?!
    To stay connected, the hands stay in front of the sternum as you rotate throughout the swing per another important Porzak lesson. So what muscles and motions are used to fire the hands while the back stays to the target and the sternum points to the prop ball? Triceps pull down? Shoulder rotation absent chest rotation? Shoulder vertical pull down? Some combination? Something else?
    Appreciate any thoughts or tips on this aspect!

    So I have an issue where I start the round with a draw but start to push shots out to the right towards the end of my round. It feels as if when my body loosens up, it ends up racing past my arms on the downswing which leaves the clubface open at impact. Going to try this drill next time on the range 🤞
    So fired up the sim and tried this drill, WOw! What a difference! By keeping the chest down and turning the hips I felt the release and the torque I felt on the finish was amazing.

    Great video great drills but my advice (having only taught 2 people!) would be to use a Tee Peg to start with,being a reasonable player im lucky enough to do these drills without Fear of Ball Contact but most will need a tee peg as i have found out teaching step drills etc to newbies

    I learned originally from Hogan's book, where it is hands, arms, shoulders, hips on the backswing, and then reverse, hips, shoulders, arms hands, on the downswing. Clearly this is not the same as what is being taught here! I am wondering what the shoulders are really doing on the downswing, other than holding the arms?

    I'm 48 and constantly wondered why my swing got more on plane as the round went on. Well I get there 15 mins prior to the round and putt. That does nothing for my hips or get my body looser. I'm finding it easier to disassociate after I stretch a little bit and take some half swings with a small bucket on the range. I wonder if Adam has a pre-round routine for us 40 to 50 year old's to get warmed up before tee off?

      I can’t think of a club where it’s more important!! This is huge for the driver because of the length of it and the farther away the outside horse(club) is away from the inside horse(sternum)… this is huge for sequencing the driver!!

    I do disagree with the elbow should be in front, that imo defined by stature of the player, Rory and Oosthouisen both have elbow on the sides... Anyway, my question is how much "connection" there should be between the hips and the arms/upperbody...The hips can be 100% engine for power or 0% (and everything in-between), what is your definition about this... Hope you understand the question... Best regards Kim

      Not a fan of that rhetoric! Doesn’t translate well for many… the hands don’t drop they fire from the top! Watch players on tour… extremely fast hands! This is a big move and definitely what we call the ‘pro move’… understanding how to disassociate the upper body and lower body. A lot of times if the hands “drop” there’s no speed and there’s no rotation.

  • @davidrose3312
    @davidrose3312 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If you look at Adam Scott vs. you there is a significant difference. Adam has his top
    shoulders open a bit at impact. You do not. You are rotating that club through the ball quite a bit while he isn't. This may work for some, but, really, you shouldn't compare what you are teaching to what Adam Scott does.
