- Epcot's NEW World Celebration Really Worth the 1,548-Day Wait? at this Walt Disney World Resort theme park was full of budget cuts from Disney CEO Bob Iger. We also saw the nighttime lightshow on Spaceship Earth near the Monorail. We did a full walkthrough of the new Disney Attraction before finding new Luminous Firework merchandise.

The state of the company as a whole is so disheartening. It's almost like the people running Disney are actually double agents from Universal actively destroying what made Disney, Disney.

looks okay at night but 5 years of construction for this place is a lot. and the rust and tripping hazards are pretty bad.
USO was shut down 2 months for Covid and Disney World 4 months. USO returned to normal and Disney is still recovering. Epic started being built in 2021 and will be done summer 2025. Disney took longer to build a Marriott looking thing than USO building an entire new park and 3 hotels. Someone should be let go at Disney for time and budget management
Glad to see Moana bathroom is ready for the EPCOT hot, acidic, goosebump driven diarrhea that can happen at ANYtime.
It's a huge problem, and I'm happy Disney is fixing that issue. Diarrhea free!

I like the new area and would use it a lot if it was here in my hometown. However this is not what I envision doing after paying thousands of dollars on a vacation, to sit on a bench or charge my laptop?😂
I tell so many people I think Walt would be severely disappointed with how Epcot was built and what it looks like now. I stand by that.
Not a fan of what was created. If you’re gonna cut something, so severely my question is won’t they just put a bunch of concrete down if they didn’t want to really invest in the area like they said they were?
I’m guessing each one of those individuals that budget cut this project got their bonus! In that bonus, there was no budget cut!
The rust statue/trees in the rust things on the ground don’t bother me as much. The bench whoever made the decision to make a bench that is 100% rusted and has no treatment put on it for their customers, sit down on that bench and get rust stains their clothing.
It’s a bunch of cement with plants. Yes, it has Walt Disney statue in it but this doesn’t make me want to go see the new addition to Epcot.
When I was at Disney, we didn’t go on the ratatouille ride. We didn’t go on guardians of the Galaxy ride. My reasoning on this is, if I’m gonna pay close to $200 to get into a park you better have everything rides free and I’m not standing in lines for over an hour and a half. I’m gonna enjoy myself at the park. I will not give Disney an extra dime for genie Plus or lightning lane for a ride that I already paid for and if they want additional money. You who want to ride those rides to desperately go enjoy pay your genie plus and lightning lane, because Disney obviously need more money because they can’t even put together the center of Epcot in 5+ years. Can you imagine the next ride Disney’s gonna put together from scratch? Thank you for giving your opinion and thoughts, I agree.
The water cycle is educational so I get why they went with it in Epcot, even tho aesthetically it’s probably a better fit with Animal Kingdom
I really thought the rock & landscaping work was very nice. They certainly could have expanded more on the water cycle and made it more educational to justify its location. They seemingly gave very basic information on the science behind it.
I’m becoming ever more impressed with what imagineering can do with basically no money at all. It’s not magical or fantastic but is impressive for the amount of money they have and that’s such an awful thing to have to say.
The new area certainly is a disappointment to us guests. I have always referred to the slow construction workers are "dead grandfathers" moving in reverse. My gosh dude, Universal just about has an entirely new theme park up in less than a year! So come on Disney/ What's wrong with your picture? If Peltz gets in as we hope, the hopefully we will see some drastic changes happen immediately and for the better.

I rarely watch these type videos but yours was very good. You held my interest, I agreed with much of your assessments and I thought that you very fair to the Project and to Disney.
It was a lot of C- work. I wish they would just stop the rest of the construction all together and leave the walls up indefinitely until somebody has a real idea.

I thought that this area might serve as a gathering place for booths during the Food & Wine Festival or other events in the future, so having more tables and chairs would be really useful.

Yeah the gardens areas remind me of what we have here in NYC. Called Rooftop cafe’s It’s nice place to sit and relax. I like it. It’s peaceful too.

I don't go to a Disney park for a botanical garden experience, I can't believe how much was cut from this addition. It may as well not exist it's so lackluster.

It seems like their focus was seating for all their epcot festivals and then they added lights to make it fancy

When we came back from our trip in 2010 that cost us a measly $5,000-ish grand, I was so excited to tell everybody at work. One of the things I specifically mentioned is "Yeah it costs a lot of money. But when you get there and take it all in, you see where your money went. It was perfect". Since then, they've been price gouging and nickeling/diming for everything they possibly could (I'm waiting for them to charge for air). Where is all the money going now?

Youre trying to justify low effort, cost saving, uninspired facelifts by dragging his name and legacy through the mud.
If you want to turn epcot into a upscale strip mall, thats youre choice. Own it. Stop trying to legitimize it by bringing walt into this.

Well, this is Disney we're talking about. Disney of today, is sub par on a good day. The saddest thing is the lighting that is malfunctioning is due to Disney themselves. Apparently they use pressure washers that use 4400 psi and the weather seals on the pavement and the buildings weren't designed to withstand that pressure. Imagineering isn't what it once was. One would think they would design something that would withstand the equipment they use for cleaning. Or at least train the maintenance staff on the cleaning of the area.
One thing that boggles me is that ya'll hate everything happening in the company and they deserve it yet you're still paying money and going to the parks just to complain. Just don't give them money. Vote with your wallets. Or is it Disney is where the clout is. Good or bad Disney vids gets tons of views and engagement more than Universal I noticed.

Well if Disney decided to put more investment into there parks and less investment into there streaming none of these problems would have happened.
It's not terrible, but it certainly feels lacking. Maybe once the food/wine booths start populating the area, it'll feel 'more EPCOTy'. The concrete 'blobs' on the light poles are a trip hazard and lawsuits waiting to happen. Like you mentioned, 5 years and it's still just gonna be 'eh'... kinda shameful.
They should have never torn out Fountain of Nations. We seriously ended up with bland and boring stuff that took years to construct and loads of money to produce. There will be pretty much no return on this investment. This was a costly downgrade.

Figment is way too huge! They should have made him a puppet carried by Dream finder. That would’ve been magical! What they offer is cheesy and stupid.
I did the meet and greet with him, but it is nothing compared to the old days. I long for the days of him being carried around by Dreamfinder, taking and throwing everyone's hats around 😂

I know it’s the hip thing to say “we waited five years for this” but we really didn’t. In the past five years they remodeled the front entrance, built and opened ratatouille and the crêperie, they built and opened space two twenty, they built and opened gaurdians, they remodeled electric umbrella and mouse gear into connections and creations and opened Moana journey of water and they remodeled the core spine of the park with nice places to sit and relax which is a much needed addition to the park. They also haven’t finished constructing the new communicore hall yet. Plus we got a figment meet and greet so that’s something too haha. They obviously had grander intentions that were totally tossed to the side because of the pandemic, but they did a heck of a job with refreshing this park.
They did not have one guy with a hammer and saw doing all that work. They have the resources to hire an army of construction workers who could have completed the tear downs of the old area behind Spaceship Earth, and construction of the replacement area in far less than a year. They could used different construction contracts for all the other renovation.
Ppl are so infatuated with Disney they could slap any crappy thing and ppl would loose it. Guardians od the galaxy has been the best thing they've done everything else downgrade. I bet they are worried about epic for sure lol

Things have just been getting really bad
I think we’re not considering the whole world was going through an unprecedented plague during construction and it would HEAVILY retard any progress with Epcot. Regardless, I think Disney was doing whatever it needed to do to stay a float. It’s unfortunate it’s not perfect but being negative without including all of the facts is unfair, the statue is fine. I get the criticism but I’m pretty sure Walt even explained that Epcot will be forever evolving and changing, giving them an excuse. It’s all fine and I’m happy the walls are down, it’s a lot better than the park being closed and us not having somewhere to go and have first world problems.
The “rust” looks like corten steel. Quite popular in Europe for landscaping as it doesn’t require much maintenance since the weathered layer protects the steel underneath. It’s a nice contrast against the greenery as well. I really like it but using it for seats is just silly though.

If the perch is around bum height it’s going to be used as a bench by the general public even if that is against what the original designer wanted sadly.
