It’s actually deeply disturbing how easy it is to influence people.
edward bernays is smiling in his grave for sure
That’s what speaking hours a day scrolling through tiktok will do to you.
Just remember, those people have the same rights as you 😂
Yes! We’re so easily distracted.
@@gildedpeahen876His shifty ass is happy as hell. He did all of this and made it normal.
The fact that 10 year olds are excited about a container that holds water is beyond dystopian. Why is your 10 year old on social media?! My daughter is 8, she asked for toys, I'm doing a good job. 🤣
Honestly just steer her clear of tiktok for as long as you can. I have seen adults acting like literal zombies while using this app.
There needs to be an experiment to see if theyll choose the Switch or the Stanley cup.
Honestly as much as I don’t support the craziness over these cups, a 10 year old being excited about a water bottle is a lot better than the many other alternatives kids are into now days (drugs, smoking, etc).
@@jazlyn2721There will always be kids into that stuff, definitely not just a nowadays thing.I was a preteen in the early 90's and lots of kids were drinking, smoking, using drugs etc. As for the cups, I personally don't think it's bad that kids want them, its a trend and kids will always follow those just like my gen did with whatever was trendy when I was a kid,but it is a little strange. I remember screaming with happiness when I got my favorite album for Christmas when I was 9. A kid screaming over a cup just seems odd, lol Then again I see adults doing the same thing and I don't understand it,lol. Guess whatever makes people happy 🤷🏼♀️
It's not bad to want a random cup as a child. What's bad is wanting a $50 cup and having parents who don't teach you the value of things beyond silly fads. So many better things you can buy or do with that money, even for the child. However, if the child sees the parent being the same type of foolish person who buys things without thinking, then oh well...
I would have lost ALL of my Christmas presents if I acted like that little girl when I was growing up. Seriously, there are some real spoiled brats out there.
Seriously, the look on her face before even opening the Yeti.. as she's surrounded by gifts.. utterly disheartening !! Total brat. Should have not bought her it at all as a lesson 😂
yeah that video was sickening. She doesn't deserve anything.
So true! Anytime I acted like a little girl my mom sent me to my room to, "Think about why I'm acting this way."
Fortunately it didn't take many thinking sessions.
That isnt about "acting like a little girl" it is about the rude ungrateful , spoiled child that those parents have created and continue to encourage by buying her 2 gifts just so they can take a video to put online so they can get likes and views and validation from total strangers and total strangers can all repost it and get likes and views and validating from total strangers for posting about it .

It's the parents and kids alike behaving badly. It's so insane! It's a CUP....
I was wondering why on earth my 9 year old niece was acting upset about not having a Stanley cup… I didn’t understand what she was saying, so I got my husbands good old green one out for her and she was more confused than I was. Now I understand.
Yup
That child who dismissed her Yeti would have had NO TUMBLER because I would have taken the Stanley before she even opened it and returned it due to lack of manners and gratefulness.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
💯
I agree 100%. This is what is wrong with kids today
Yup. She would have been taken with all her Christmas gifts to give them away at the closest woman's shelter. I would have kept clothes. Everything else..including toys in the stocking..would have gone to children in a shelter. And she would be in the car with me.
I saw a video of a grown adult woman behaving the same way when her boyfriend gifted her a yeti instead of a Stanley. Pure insanity
Seeing children cling and hug a literal water bottle like it’s a teddy bear is so absurd to me lmao.
Look up the origin of teddy bears. A trend from a hundred years ago.
Late stage capitalism
If I got a cup for Christmas as a kid, I’d be smiling through gritted teeth

This was a troubling look into how easy it is to start a cult.
“It has mold around the rim.”
“I’m building my immune system.”
“It leaks!”
“I know, it’s annoying, but I got used to it.”
😳🙄
TFS! ❤
Any bottle will have mold over time unless you clean it, doesnt matter how expensive
I mean seriously there's so many cups exactly like the Stanley band that are way better at being mold resistant and don't leak, and still have a straw and handle..... Stanleys suck, imo
I’ve been in a number of cults, both as a leader and as a follower. You make more money as a leader, but you have more fun as a follower.
The same woman will take home ...
"You have a bruised face."
"He beats me cuz he loves me."
"He doesn't work and spends all your money."
"It isn't ideal, but you get used to it."
^ the type of people who will make excuses upon excuses for their decisions.
Yeah...that did my head in, lol!
It's like these dumb bitches have never heard of Milton tablets or similar.
You know...that stuff that you use to disinfect baby bottles and gear?
Yeah...those, lol!
Use them religiously for kiddies drinking bottles, plastic or silicone straws, or anything else that is otherwise hard to clean.
Not hard, people....
I must be living under a rock because I had no idea this was a thing. Got a few belly laughs 🤣 so thanks!
The problem with this is that people are just proving to retailers that they have scads of disposable income to drop on useless items. The same people complaining about high prices are the same people paying $160 for a tumbler. When they see you can afford $160 for a coffee mug, of course they will assume that you can also afford to pay for overpriced grocery products.
Exactly
More likely they have maxed out credit cards
Let’s not forget the resell
While the poor starve.
Unfortunately, prices of groceries will inflate, even without these stupid TikTok moms buying stupid tumblers
It's so surreal seeing people go nuts for these and talking about Stanley like a designer brand. It'd be like if Black & Decker drills suddenly became chic.
Gimmie the B&D over the cup/ flask
Shush, you might just start a new TikTok trend amongst these brain dead zombies
I don’t see anyone acting like this in designer brand stores 😂
Dont give them ideas bro 😂😂😂😂
every business is about to do something like this. when something proves extremely lucrative in eurocentric culture, all the parasites start their exploitation parade.
I love that one woman yelling "STOP HIM! STOP HIM! I didn't touch him. STOP HIM! STOP HIM!" Lol.
And then she switches to "stop her". Like, why?
I’ve used the original green version in construction for over 30 years. It was a good cup but this is ridiculous. And no way in hell would I buy anything just because a so called influencer told me to. Now all they’ve done is raised the price so people that actually want to use one for its intended purpose can’t. These people are nuts and anyone that would do this needs their head examined. This is why I say that social media has ruined the world!
All by design. Very dystopian. I wish we could make 1984 fiction again. 😎
This status symbol cup reminds me of when the status symbol bottled water, Evian, was in fashion over 30 years ago. Evian spelled backwards is Naive! 😂😂😂
Imagine having 100+ years to design a lid that doesn't leak and then releasing a product with a lid that leaks.
there is a stanley cup with a leak proof lid.

They already have that. It's just the regular stanley.

The literal child CLAWING at the blue Stanley as if her life depended on it but also pushing away the yeti cup in disgust and ignorance SENT ME 💀💀💀 she’s literally being arrogant and entitled for a cup 🤣 this is PATHETIC and I blame the parents.
Absolutely, where do you think she learned to act arrogant and entitled over a trendy item?
Its not even arrogant and entitled because the Yeti costs as much as the Stanley does, it's being gullible and a follower. It is one of those times where getting them nothing would be better than getting them the wrong thing, though
I think all 3 of my kids wanted the cool “it” item of their time, and yes I bought some of those things for them, because it brought them joy. The pressure to fit in is huge for kids and sadly it’s starting happening younger and younger. Seriously though if you can afford it, is it really that big a deal? I’m not saying that this girl shouldn’t have properly thanked whoever bought her the Yeti cup, absolutely that needed to happen.
@@traceydotts7842 as long as you're not having to buy them EVERY color, or new TRENDY cup each time. One trendy, "fit in with friends" item for Christmas is one thing. An overabundance, is another. And yes, Manners still count.

I literally bought a Stanley thermos for under $10 at a local discount store this summer. I had no idea about the company or it's history but noticed that it was made very well. I do like it very much, but this is insane. 😮
I'd kill for a 10$ Stanley! I love their thermos and they're so well built. but the hip tik-tok Sippy-cup tumbler is just ridiculous. Can't put it in your bag, or else it spills, the lids are annoying to clean and to replace. It's perfectly built for the wine moms to hide their booze in public.

There is a story about the warranty on one quart Stanley coffee "mugs". A bulldozer operator was working along on a rock/dirt/more rock and some small smattering of almost dry clay mud road. His "Stanley" fell onto the tracks, stayed on until the tracks ended, and the Stanley fell out in front of it. He slipped the Stanley into a large envelope and sent it to the company, explaining that the Stanley had been damaged, and explaining how. He wanted a replacement unit. A week later, h got the envelope back, with a note taped to it it said "Unbreakable. not indestructible, go buy a new thermos". they included a 5.00 off coupon.
That is bullshit.
Crazy!! I got the Walmart Ozark cups when Yeti was a thing for $10 lol. They still work great. I only wanted them because Florida Summers get hot and they keep the drinks ice coold sitting in the hot car all day
First it was Yeti, then Hydroflask, and now it's Stanley. It's insane how so many people have turned regular items like coolers and water flasks into must have fashion accessories.
i'm surprised with the amount of trolling online that somneone hasn't decided to use peoples stupidity against them and tried to make something like trash bags trendy

I remember when it came to backpacks, Fjällräven Kanken was big, it still kind of is. I wanted to understand what the hype was all about and so I went to my local thrift shop and I actually found a Stanley for $3. It was practically brand new, only reason the previous owner got rid of it was because of a tiny scratch on the side. I tried it for a week before I sold it for to a local shop that I usually sell Yeti's to. Since this trend, I've been finding practically new Hydroflasks in the dumpster at my apartment complex. Now every girl I see at the university has a Stanley. Even my friend is slowly going into this cult. I still remember the OG Stanley that was meant for the worksite or camping and I wouldn't mind getting one of these out of nostalgia but now these trends are going too far at this point. I'll take my Nalgene anyday.
It’s wild to me because in childhood, my father carried around his blue and red Stanley cup. He still has it and used to carry it to family functions, bbq cookouts and my mom would be embarrassed like “babe don’t bring that cup” 😂 and he has the green heavy duty one shown in the beginning of the video. He was the first person I knew of carrying a favorite cup around as an adult 😂
It's pretty wild how perceptions change. I remember too when carrying a stanely would be seen as embarrassing outside of most scenarios.
He was an OG. He did it before it was cool.
I was so confused when this first became a thing. I grew up on AF bases and the green Stanley thermos is military issue- we always had at least 4 in different sizes. My sister in law I told me she got one and how much they are and how it's a tiktok phenomenon and I was like, babe I could have just given you one
Hi, fellow military brat! Though I never asked, I always wondered if my Dad’s green Stanley had some sort of military connection (he’s retired Air Force). I think his Stanley is great; it’s really cool-looking, it’s sturdy, doesn’t leak, and does its job to perfection.
Your sister in law is dumb.
That’s not the same model that all the kids want.
as someone no longer on tiktok it is very interesting finding out these oddly specific trends!! i had a stanley thermos growing up for camping trips and yes it was really awesome but it's so funny to me that this is what all the kids want for the holidays now. i guess it is similar to the hydroflask phenomenon from a few years ago? but the girl in the video is right, at least those fit in backpacks!
but omg using it as an ice cream pint holder is GENIUS - no cold hands and no melty ice cream!
This just makes me appreciate my $10 Iron Man commuter mug from Ross 100x more.
The kid wanting all the celebrities in their basement got me 💀
frrrrrrr
Future cereal killer 😂
Lil man was hilarious 😂
"I want this lady in my basement."
I started to die at that part
My son used to work at McDonald’s back in the day when they gave away McD Beanie Baby’s in the Happy Meals. They had people who ordered multiple meals and then just threw away the food. They also had many crazed parents pitching fits if they ran out or they didn’t have a particular one that they wanted! There will always be something!
😂😂😂
Yep
They had to lock'em in the freezer 😂
My granny managed to get the whole set.
Yeah proving its not worth the hype
these were mainly people at I think, hoping to resell the so called limited items.
My gma still thinks her ziplock sealed Beanie Baby collection will be valuable some day. I gave mine to my baby who tore the tags off, drool, dirty & heavy play use. She freaked out & refused to speak to me. I resolved by gifting her an Hermes Birkin Bag & explained how that’s a real investment piece 👌❤🎉
lol at the Stanley Steamer commercial in the background at 13:04.
This is like Cabbage Patch Kids, Tickle Me Elmo, Beanie Babies etc etc alllllll over again
Just insane.
My mother in law randomly gave me one the other day and I'm almost scared to take it outside 😂 it definitely keeps the drink cold and the handle is nice but I'd never pay $45 for one and I'd never fight and trample people for one. People are crazyyy
My cup 10 years ago kept my ice cold for 24 hours.
Sell it online for $1,000 and split it with MIL. 😂
I got a no name metal water bottle from Target on clearance for $3.99. I can put ice in it at night and it'll still be there the next day. I'm waiting for them to on clearance again so I can get one or two more to stock up.
@@Corpst right? It's not a new concept. My Costco Thermoflask keeps it just as cold and it doesn't leak like the Stanley 😂
@@carolwilliams8840 that's the thing, the Stanley isn't revolutionary and it should be for $45! I prefer my Thermoflask because it keeps it cold and it doesn't leak 😂 I need to check out the target clearance section next time I go!!
I think when something gets hyped up so much everybody wants it just to follow the crowd, and this is a perfect example
Agree, Tervis has had these for years.
It's pathetic really.
It's the fad of the moment. Something else will come along soon.
@@kdbee6086 always! It's human nature
Something dark behind it. It's like when Wilkenson almost went bankrupt and made people who came out of the chill 80s, believe in the 90s, that it was a crime for women to have any sorts of body hair, just to sell more razors and knew females were easier to manipulate, when it comes to shopping. Everytime when something becomes so popular, even though it has been there for decades, i feel like there is a powrrful subliminal underneath it.
First it was the resurgence of Hush Puppies. Timberlands. Then Carhartt. Now Stanley. Once all quantity products but the trending made them fetch outrageous price increases. They all cheapened their brands by doing this. Saved the stock holders. Consumers are just suckers.
The reduce cup you picked up does the same thing. I personally like the original Stanley for hygiene. The lids to a lot of stainless steel cups being plastic get moldy/stained and you have to bleach them to get rid of it. If your going to get a cup the Yeti 20oz is most sanitary or generic brand with a similar lid.
On a different note I remember the cabbage patch dolls causing mayhem similar. My parents signed up in Kmart raffle hoping to win one for Christmas. For my kids they would be upset about not getting pajamas for Christmas tradition doesn’t matter what brand. When I didn’t have a lot of money for Christmas 2 years ago my kids said don’t worry about it Christmas isn’t about stuff. That kid refusing the yeti is ridiculous. My dad would have given away my presents and put me to work
Someone I know recently has become obsessed with “drinking enough water” and suddenly won’t shut up about it… had no idea about this Stanley cup phenomenon OR “water tok”… Same person used to be disgusted by water and never drink it, nor could you ever convince them to. Of course they’d never admit to the former, now that they’ve changed tune to the latter. SMH.
Noticed the similar behavioural change in someone else outwardly hating Taylor Swift and the cult of Swifties… and is now essentially a Swifty herself, cries over missing overpriced concert tickets and suddenly cares about who’s the bigger fan. I have no issues with Taylor as an artist, but this is all just insane and ridiculous.
Social media is an f’d up place - I’m so glad I’ve opted out of most of it. 🤡🐑🐑🐑
I was shocked to see how much her tickets cost. I’m not a fan of Taylor Swift but I had to look it up because I saw someone on TH-cam that went to her concert TWICE🙄
If they drink that much water they need to include electrolytes including sodium. It's bad when they put soda, or juice in it since the 40 oz size gets them a serious sugar spike and crash.
Your "friends" are idiot sheeple.
They have no will nor mind of their own.
They are easily led and cannot think critically for themselves.
Ever.
I am so sorry.
Just don't be like them and you should be ok. :P
Taylor is doing straight-up rituals on stage. Why do parents let their kids go partake in witchcraft? Watching someone do a ritual is still giving passive consent to it.
I never got into the trends , I rather spend my money on travel, books plants my kid. Not paying for these stupid trends. These idiotic followers . If I want water I go to the tap
Damn. I got my lavender Stanley in November and I’m all good. People are so conditioned to overconsumption. The whole point of a reusable bottle is to have ONE, maybe two.
exactly. IT's supposed to practical...not something to show off or collect. SO weird.
I have my dad's old Stanley thermos and a cute lavender thermos I got when I was a teenager. I also have a Stanley coffee cup that was a total regret buy because while I still have it somewhere the design was horrible they don't make it anymore and the cup made me feel stupid.
I want a Stanley because my grandpa used one. I'm so disconnected from trends. When I think of Stanley I think of that forest service green finish rolling around in a conue or in the back of a wagoneer and flannel jackets. I'm suddenly cool. I don't want to be cool.
It's ok, they're just fixated on the one model with the straw. You're safe with the old-school one!
I actually remember my grandfather had those sturdy stanley coffee pour thermos. I remember that thing was all sorts of beat up and he still used it till he, or my grandmother, got him a new one.
This is so insane!!! From the point of the house organizer, I can tell you where all of those bottles, thermos, coffee mugs end up. The drawers and cabinets are filled with all sorts of cups and containers, chewed straws, already messy and no lids and most of it no one is using. But after New Years, they added Stanley tumblers where there's no room for more tumblers already 👀 It's like hoarding lol
I've dealt with pallets of these stupid cups this year. I didn't know they were $40 to 50 until a bit later when I commented how dumb they are. Then I learned that they were popular, I just didn't know that they were this popular 😂
People are dumb.
I kinda did know, but only through actual funny comedy skits for a 30 second video. But I still didn't get it. If I'm out of the loop for normie stuff like trendy name brands and cups. Then it must be a good thing.
Very dumb, blind and want to fit in so bad! i pay attention to things and seen changes in style and the tracking devices (our smart phones) to Apple has a hold on way too many while being anti consumer charging abused prices for less and sued third parties doing what they say "couldn't" do.
Then pairing basically each part to the motherboard and serialized each part so a simple break is a hassle so you "have to" buy a new one. a battery swap or just swapping the back glass iOS gives those "unknown part" messages so you'll only go to them for fixes! it's evil.
It's 99% loser women.
Don't be a hater.
Well, they are keeping you employed, so keep em coming.
Imagine going to Target just to buy some groceries for the week and end up dead in the middle of a riot for a tumbler
I’m glad my local Target isn’t selling Stanley’s yet ._.
I always wanted to be able to legitimately say this, and here is my moment. I was carrying Stanley mugs before they were cool.
Seriously, there really are a very good product. Quality steel, resilient finish, the trigger-action lids are the best coffee mug lid in the business. They're everything YETI is, without being outrageously, hilariously overpriced. Outstanding customer service as well. I had an over 10 year old stanley coffee flask that the lid finally gave out on (a small internal spring somehow popped out during washing and the trigger stopped working.) When I contacted customer service to BUY a new lid, they told me my model was no longer available and they couldn't provide parts - so they offered me a FREE brand new entire flask and the absolutely top-of-the line model currently sold too! Shipped free to my door in 2 days from the first e-mail, to replace a product 10+ years old and out of production.
After this I bought a ton of additional products from them, including a pitcher and set of tumblers that are now my everyday use cups in the kitchen, coffee flask to use for tea, a whiskey hip flask... and more.
Master class in customer service. Never change Stanley, don't let the success and the billions of being a seasonal fashion fad alter your outlook. In me you have a customer for life and it has nothing to do with trends. I am sure there are many like me.

Yeah I had to look up the full videos. They were pretty funny.
As i person who doesn’t even have TikTok and doesn’t plan to, only using TH-cam and usually watching only things about fandoms I’m into and stuff, I walked into my frickin classroom one year then I saw so many people with Stanleys.. I was confused af then later on the year…the cheerleaders got a Stanley…ALL OF THEM. and had a cheer logo put on it by the person in charge of cheerleaders…then my friend said her mom had gotten her a Stanley. Then another friend got one. Everyone wanted one. AND JEEZE DID THEY LEAK SO MUCH. WHY DO THESE PEOPLE WANT THEM SO MUCH ITS A CUP.
Oh and I barely even knew what a Stanley was. Yes. I’m not kidding. I thought people just wanted that type of cup. Then I saw these frickin people saying they bought ‘fake Stanleys’ and too many people kept buying them and I’m just annoyed how everyone’s obsessed-
Exactly. How many plastic cups have we all gotten from McDonalds and Starbucks in our lifetimes and trashed?? I literally have the same $1-2 plastic soda cups from McDonald's restaurants and I use those EVERY SINGLE DAY instead of throwing them away!!! 🙃 😂People are SO DUMB IT'S UNREAL. We are DESTROYING the only planet we have. There IS NO OTHER PLANET.
😂😂😂 every mom needs a Stanley because I’m tired of my coffee getting freaking cold!!!!😂😂❤❤❤ mine will be here on Wednesday yayyy
Wow so crazy over a cup! I remember the first craze seemed to be the cabbage patch dolls back in the 80's .People were lining IP outside the toy stores hoping to get one ,and that was way before social media influences .I think people forgot how to appreciate the smaller non material things in life that will bring much more happiness than a cup will.
I actually watched a documentary on here about that the other day as it was just before my time. But add pet rocks and all the consumer fads after an its really no surprise to see the behavior continued. The part that actually shocks me is how aggressive people get over these things. I always remember that LegiQn quote "Oh ya call it black friday well we call it red Tursday go in for a toaster come out inna casket"
I was going to mention beany babies and furbies too, but these days, it seems more shallow than ever. People wanting something for themselves is kinda understandable, but wanting something just to show off that you have it, especially now to online strangers... i cannot sympathize anyone not getting it. I've come to dislike so much about the internet, for all the ways it's changed people for the worst. It used to be referred to as "the information superhighway". Now i think we'd be better off without it, even if we went just a year or so, imagine the difference that would make.

When i first heard about the Stanley cup, I thought they were talking about the NHL championship.
Am I the only one? My husband had stuffed my stocking with a Stanley mug and I returned it for a 40 Oz insulated bottle that is more versatile, keeps my water cold for 24 hours, hot for 12 hours, has holding handle, silicon base cover, swapable lids, plastic straw. And I got $20 back after the swap.
Reminds me of the brand Champion. When I was a kid, it was sold at k-mart as cheap clothing. Suddenly, its the expensive, high-end, must have brand. Society is weird.
I truly blame this on parasocial relationships & to some extent - viral marketing. I’ve been off social media for nearly 8 years & remember when Yeti Brand was HUGE online, with resellers getting 50-75 for the standard ones, ones customized with those tacky “Live Laugh Love-like” platitudes/names with indistinguishable fonts. I still have a Yeti someone gave me for Christmas back then and…it’s just a cup at the end of the day. I drink nothing but water so as long as it’s colder than 60 degrees, I’m content. Just turned 32 & the other women my age are spending more on multiple mugs a month than I spend on my mortgage 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
Has it been 8 years since Yeti exploded? That was my first thought, "Don't all these people still have their Yeti tumblers!?" That was the whole thing, they were supposed to last a lifetime.
@@SalisburySnake It started going “viral” around that time, if not a little before, iirc. Mine has “Merry Christmas 2015 From ____” on it (name left blank as a joke since they had one made for everyone & just Sharpied a name on each).
Wait - was that a Stanley Steemer commercial on the tv?!?!? Too funny!!
13:03 The Stanley Steemer commercial!!! 🥹 Yes to the subtleties!! 💜🎉
I was so confused when I heard about the trend from Josh Johnson’s standup. Like, “Is that like the Stanley Cup? Or like Stanley Steemer gets carpets cleaner ™?? Wasn’t that a train first??” And apparently none of those companies is connected to the others. 😂
I retired my Stanley and went back to Hydro Flask. I was so embarrassed by people's behaviors that I cannot be caught dead with one. I only have one and I bought it over a year ago...I wasn't even influenced to do it either. it is so scary how people MUST follow a trend and jump on the bandwagon.
You have a Stanley and a Hydroflask but do not consider yourself on the bandwagon?
What's the difference in you and the other people who buy the trendy water bottles?
@@ChristinaFromTH-cam I've had a hydro flask for years...cuz I saw it and wanted it for my ice water. not sure if that has anything to do with a bandwagon. just normal shopping habits and I knew it was a good brand. same with Stanley...I wasn't following a trend or anything. I didn't see influencers talking about them. to be on the bandwagon is following what others are doing. to follow the crowd because of what's popular. just cuz you own a product that went wildly popular doesn't make you part of the chaos lol. that's why I put it away. I don't want to be attached to the ridiculousness. people are easily influenced.
I got one from ice shaker through a brand whom sponsors streamers i watch that influence us to drink powders of energy, hydration and or sleep aids (Similar to gfuel & ghost energy) one is advanced but add the power into water shake it boom marketed heavy to gamers but liquid IV does the same too.
And seriously sure we all walked pasted this very cups a month ago and ain't bat an eye god social media brings out the worst in people and fomo hits some waaaaaaaaay too hard! blind consumerism is wild and the fact cops were need to i remember black friday when someone died over a PS3 to fights over TV's.....
It comes across like "well yeah I just so happen to have every product that influencers peddle but its different with me. Im naturally cool and when other people started liking the products I don't like them now."
It feels like a desperate explanation for why you possess all of these products.
I'm talking about one product lol. I don't own anything else that's been influenced (that I'm aware of), I just don't pay attention. I was using my Stanley proudly even when I found out it was a popular influenced item, I didn't care, I liked it and still used it.. It wasn't until the Starbucks/Target collab. I do find myself better than the people who behaved the way they did for a cup...as an adult, it was appalling to see other adults behave that way. that's why I said I was secondhand embarrassed. maybe there's an age difference between me and you. I don't think about being "cooler" than others. it's really not that deep, promise.@@ChristinaFromTH-cam
As a business owner, I’d love to learn marketing secrets from this CEO - crocs and Stanley, wow, he’s brilliant
Yeah, but it would be really difficult to make sure your production is ready & often the fad dies as quickly as it started, so then you're stuck with a bunch of product that is old news. It can be great for a company if they know how to prepare for it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it could bankrupt a company that doesn't know how to plan for it.
Also, it would be great to make a lot of money, but honestly, I'd be embarrassed to be part of this kind of insanity.
@@miriamrobarts yeah, I don’t want to use his business smarts to peddle crap, but the stuff I believe in instead. I own a Stanley, I really like it. I was looking for a new tumbler after my old one broke. The thing is, I only have one. It’s wild to me that people will collect these cups when the point of a reusable tumbler is to reduce waste.
I have one 30oz, I was looking for a new water bottle, and it checked all the boxes. I like it and have used it every day for the last 6-8 months but I don't need another one. I did buy one for my 17 year old dancer who uses a huge water bottle, when her old one cracked and broke.

When I was 12 (in 94) I went through this phase where I was obsessed with skincare and buying matte powders and foundations to try and hide the fact that I had oily skin and my nose was always shiny/oily. I had soaps, lotions, oxy cleanse pads and probably more foundation and powders then my mom. She even bought me some expensive facial cleaners and clay masks from Origins for Christmas back then. I begged her for a $70 matte powder that was only sold at Bloomingdale's but it was never in stock. I had never had a zit in my life but using all those different products on my face actually aggravated my skin and I started getting pimples, lol. I moved on from being obsessed with my skin to being obsessed with my hair then my weight. There was nothing wrong with my skin, hair or weight, but I wanted to be "perfect "All this before I was 13. My friends were like this as well, and adults would blame this and other trends on MTV, supermodels and pop culture in general. There's always going to be something or someone that kids look up to and follow. There are dangerous tiktok challenges that kids are doing and getting injured or even killed doing, but I remember parents blaming wrestling and Beavis and butthead for that stuff in the 90's. Only solution is to monitor what kids watch, and how much they watch. My son gets an hour on TH-cam, no tiktok and he has no interest thankfully in any of the other social media apps. However he's still little, I know as he gets into his teens he will be exposed to some of the crap. It's normal to go through trends/phases as kids, but I'll never understand this obsession over a cup, lol.
