Radiohead are still "together." Just as the bug was hitting their rhythm guitarist, Ed O'Brien, was going on a mini-tour to play his debut solo album entitled "Earth."
Jonny, lead guitar, does a lot of work composing movie soundtracks. He's director Paul Thomas Anderson's go-to composer.
Thom and Jonny worked with another drummer and have a new album coming out as a trio. Their band is called "The Smile." Singles are dropping now.
Thom has three solo albums and has done a movie soundtrack as well.
They all have a lot of other venues to express themselves, but they always talk about getting together when the time is write and doing another Radiohead album.

it's easy to underestimate just how psychedelic Radiohead are. It's not all just beautiful chords, anxiety, great vocals and electronics... sometimes it's totally trippin ballz. Their nerdy image sometimes throws people off I reckon. This album in particular... it's just insane.

For sure, Pulk/revolving doors is straight tripping material

Just like Led Zeppelin, Radiohead was never afraid to lead their listeners into unfamiliar areas of exploration… completely reinventing their sound with every new album.

One of my favorite albums of all time and the most underrated Radiohead album by far. Just some insane cuts off this album.

There are many reaction videos out there, but they are all pretty much the same. When I want to hear a smart reaction, I come here. I have been a hardcore radiohead fan since 1997. You are the only person that understands what they are trying to say in each song. Thats impressive. Subscribed.

Thanks Edison. I usually have to go back and listen a few times with lyrics. I usually don't catch everything. These guys are very deep.

Very spacey at times, the lyrics are indirect like most of their work, but also the most direct in another way. Claustrophobic words seem to juxtapose the minimalist use of silence. Haunting and angelic sounds often join together and separate, leaving feelings of ambiguity or maybe choice. My third favorite album behind In Rainbows and OK Computer, largely due to the heavy jazz elements, and it sounds like the band just finished listening to Aphex Twins' 1995 album I Care Because You Do for months on end before entering the studio. Life In A Glass House is my favorite song by Radiohead, and another example of them closing out their albums with a high note.

I agree Life in a Glasshouse is one of their absolute bests. It gets me every time- especially the live version they did for BBC

I saw you a long ways back listen to my favorite zeplin song, “since I’ve been loving you” and loved it.
Now this popped up on my timeline and would have paid for this reaction back in the day! Radiohead has been my band since the beginning and this is still my favorite album. Culmination of their darkness, eeriness, inventiveness and raw talent. Thanks for your perspective on the lyrics. Your take is always awesome.

Amnesiac is a less coherent album than all the others by Radiohead, but imo the most experimental in sound, even more than Kid A.

I did not like this album much when it came out this and Kid A were too much of a departure from the Radiohead I loved from the Bends and OK computer and I just was not ready at that time for them. Suffice to say I now love all their albums but I would say most of the songs I like the most on this album I like even better live it is really great live. I really like the b-sides from this record they are among the best of a vast amount of stellar b-sides by them they are the only band I know that enough great b-sides to fill a few albums and they would be better than a whole lot of bands a-sides.

As a Radiohead fan since 2000 I can safely say that this album is now my second favorite. Kid A being my number one. This album has grown on me slowly to the point where it really resonates. I think that the band were at their peak at this time. That's not to say I don't like their earlier and later albums almost as much though. A fine reaction and review. Cheers STB.

What you're saying is a bit hard to hear during the song, which is too bad since I think you always have an interesting interpretation. I know the music takes precedent but it would be nice if you could find a happy medium.

You really nailed it on your take on this album. They are still together and likely have one more (let us hope more) album, LP10, maybe coming 2023 or so. Unconfirmed but jst the kind of vibe out there. They have done a lot of solo and side collaborations in the last 5 years. For example most recently, the 2 front men, Thom and mate Johnny Greenwood, lead guitarist and every other instrument known to man - you saw him bouncing all over during 'From the Basement' (never hurts when your main guitar player is also an Oscar nominated movie music score composer as his side gig - his score for frequently-considered greatest film on the 21st century "There Will Be Blood" is an absolute revelation in and of itself) and Thom and Johnny just made their own side album under the band name "The Smile" with a wicked jazz drummer named Tom Skinner - it should release soon and one track is out on TH-cam. As for Radiohead their last release was "A Moon Shaped Pool" an absolutely lush, powerful, haunting masterpiece (big shock) and I truly hope you do a full reaction to it when the time feels right - you will love it I am pretty sure. It is them maturing into their late 40's and bringing their evolution of always changing their sound to a really uniquely supreme place. In the annals of all great bands, you will be hard-pressed to find many that are so big and have the exact same 5 members intact from the beginning, the same producer (except their first and 2nd albums where he was engineer, Nigel Godrich) and even the same artist for every Album and all promotional material band logo, the insanely talented Stanley Donwood (unofficial band members 6 and 7, as the artwork is done while the music is recorded and vice versa - they have a truly unique symbiosis in the world of popular music making it one of the coolest collaborative relationships in rock history - he and Thom are childhood friends and Thom also does some of the art). I feel like you'd have to seek hard to find too many other examples of transcendent level bands that have gone 30 years and 9 albums intact in such a way. It says so much - but most importantly that they love what they do and ill only do it when and as they feel that love for it, and don't care about anything but their artistry. That love of what they do is evident - such as with this album. This is truly a slow-burn "Grower" as you say - I literally either hit skip on the song "Like Spinning Plates" but also heard it enough times in the background not paying attention as it was craftily sinking into my brain over literal years, when one day it came on with the volume turned to 10 and hit me like a Louisville Slugger across the head and now sits as one of my all-time favorites of their work. They have so many similar examples it is one of many things that are unique attributes that contribute to their vaunted status. And Ha! You are so dead on right with the critics - they tear it down, and it ends up at 320 on the Rolling Stone 500 Greatest albums of all time list. Radiohead has 5 of their 9 albums there (that is pretty elite company regardless of the deserved questionability of this or any similar list) though it slipped off (Amnesiac) on the last 2020 list, so 4 at the moment I guess; 7 of their 9 albums (the last 7 in a row - and the one before that "The Bends" just had no publicity and is now of course considered a master work of the 90's - otherwise they'd be 8 for 9 on Grammy nominations for their career - pretty rarefied air.) This is my favorite band along with Pink Floyd and Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, so I am so glad you have taken to them, as I've enjoyed your reactions for a couple years now and you really take your time and know music, so it is a special occasion when I see you react. Thanks for the time, the insight, and sharing it with all of us. Happy 2022!
