      @@moniqueleducq1309 excellent and important point Monique, and also completely true. thom is a master craftsman not by chance, but rather through pure will, drive, determination, and passion. This life-changing music exists bc of all the thousands of hours of practice and toil by the lads for our supreme benefit as fans. Thank you for suffering for us thom, seriously. Without your inspiration I would never have gone down this path.

    Thom is really happy here because Kid A and Amnesiac was a very positive time in his life and he remembers it very fondly. With OKNOTOK he just has memories of regret and his depression (which is shown in Meeting People is Easy). It might be the album that let him have the freedom to experiment with Kid A and Amnesiac but he wasn’t able to handle the pressure and fame that came with OK Computer. Thom doesn’t like to talk about it because he’s wasn’t proud of himself. But with Kid A he was rejuvenated and (somewhat) comfortable to continue and thank God for that

    It's been an absolute honor to watch Thom and company grow into the band they are today. I was 12 when I first heard Pablo Honey and I'm 40 now. They truly saved my life on more than one occasion. Happy Thom dancing is one of the greatest things on Earth and I can't wait to see them live a 4th time.🖤

    • @TheColoradohans
      @TheColoradohans 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed! I was 12 when Pablo came out. Got a Kid A tattoo when I was 21 ish and this has really felt like “my” band for most of my life. Driving along country lanes listening to Radiohead (and other albums from the era like Moby Play) has gotten me through so many difficult times, and I’m sure will again. I’m glad other people feel the same way. May every generation have artists like this that can help give shape to their lives.

    I remember 2001 very well. I had lost 100 Lbs over a 2 year time-frame and would come home and listen to Radiohead after my workouts to help me relax and sleep. Although quite an accomplishment, Fitter Happier always stuck in my mind and was right on. Being Fitter Happier is not what it's all about, but it's hard to be happy if you're not fit and don't have the energy to do anything. No instruction manual for Life!

    After obsessing over Radiohead and recording every song and live performance I heard on the radio, I finally got my hands on my first Radiohead album, Kid A. I would sit and stare at the artwork while listening to the music and they both complimented each other wonderfully. Needless to say, it had a huge impact on me. It's great to see and hear them talk about it after so many years.

    The cover to Kid A is my favourite. It gives me this feeling of being in the deeply lonely, fantastical world of old fantasy books. Lost in the mountains like Gollum, in a world between Middle Earth and an infinite DMT trip, but making the isolation, the smell of moss, the lost expansiveness of it all - the main story.
