So there is this Indian guy who used to sell gadgets near former Ximex mall. I bought 2 irons from him and they were dying so quickly. Guess what he said? Just because it's a steam iron doesn't mean that u have to put water in it....get a spray bottle and spray water on clothing just like our mothers used to do back then. I listened and i haven't bought another iron in more than 10 years. He said that water tank on the iron will eventually leak into the iron and damage it. Hope this helps
