I have a bmx since 2014 and now I'm starting to learn how to properly ride it. I'm so excited!!!
lets gooooo
@@colinlikewhat W vid btw
36 and picking up BMX. I skateboard back in my younger days and always wanted to. My kids are starting to ride so this gives me an opportunity to mess around.
I’m doing the same haha
@@jostafro4967 right on! The only setback for me is torn acl/mcl, may limit me on what I’m able to do lol
I’m 37 and I’m in the same situation as you. Never too old to learn new things
the one thing i regret not doing is learning tricks on a cassette hub. i feel that building a foundation of skills on a cassette is more beneficial that jumping right into freecoaster hubs. fakies are harder on a cassette but it in turn teaches you more bike control and muscle/brain memory.
Yea I could agree with that. I didn't start riding a free coaster until a lot later in my riding career.
@@colinlikewhat as luck would have it, i broke my freecoaster's axle a few days after making this comment. now i'm on a cassette.
@@dethgripcoI got a BSD Swerve & at 48, I think I'm too damn old to even want to learn on 1,I hate the slack too on them, & it does make you a better rider for a lot of tricks
@@colinlikewhatthis video was great. Please continue to make more. I know you’re probably busy with Haro right now, but these are wicked helpful to new riders.
@@colinlikewhatwhats the bike that you are using for this demo?
Thanks Colin for the instructional video. I've been in the sport since 2016 on and off and still refining basic bike control... There is a big learning curve to BMX and I am only scratching the surface. 🤘
Pumping is for some reason one of the hardest things for me, I think I'm getting the hang of it slowly but it's taking frustratingly long, I loved this explanation, will apply it the next time I ride.
it takes time! just try to relax and have fun with it
Very obvious you have taught for a living. Thank you for all you do for bmx
Please keep these coming, fundamentals are always needed. thanks
So glad you’re back on TH-cam!!!
This video helped me fix my fakies 180’s and manuals better than any other video instant results and I’ve scoured forums, and TH-cam for any piece of advice I could get, and none of them had results as quick as this video. Did I just played the video in my pocket and did 10:19 what he said to do in real time it’s a lot easier that way. Plus you won’t have to remember. Not only that he does a good job emphasizing key points. Thank you so much man.
Really happy to hear this! Keep shredding
Loved the video. but couldn't find any more how tos. You are good at explaining and teaching. you should do more of this.

W Vid.
Have you got an equipment list? Mic,camera, tripod etc?
i think he might be using a gopro and a mini microphone mounted to his shirt.
I got my first bmx today and I didn't know how to ride, once I was ok riding I forgot how to break and rolled 4 times down a hill
This.... like i'm 6ft 240(43years old)... i just feel so goofy riding a BMX
what's with the seat so low...
I'm 40 about to be 41, about 5'11" 200lbs, just got back into BMX about 2 yrs ago, there's plenty of options for you. Look up the S&M Longjohn Seat Post. Would be perfect for you.
Hey, I’m only 24 but 6’4. If size is an issue, I really like the WTP Audio 22”. It feels incredibly stable
do you have to be fit for bmx biking
no, you dont really. however you may have less stamina
Nice b8ke
