Best bunnyhop advice ever. Every other channel says it’s a “manual connected to an endo”, but when you see the footage, this description is far more accurate. In the manual you get away from the handlebar while bunnyhopping you’re pulling said handlebar towards your waist. Big difference. I’m 46, learning this stuff and this video has helped me the most.
When I learned to wheelie I was scared of looping out so I did it on purpose on the grass and I was never afraid again so doing it on purpose it a good piece of advice
Yeah so I'm a pretty experienced mountain bike rider, I picked up my first BMX bike today - rode it out of the shop and went to drop off the curb, picked the front end up a little like I would on my mountain bike and proceeded to loop out and land flat on my back. Grass seems much more forgiving! (I got the manual down a couple hours later once I got comfortable with where the balance point of the BMX was.)
@@caketin4216 you just need to learn the balance points and where to distribute your weight, if you mean for bunny hops then try bending your legs a lot more and pull up harder. It's all to do with balance and timing
Been riding a bmx bike for transportation for years now. I love getting air when I'm getting speed and I hit a lip and I whip my handlebars to my body and capitalize. I think I'm gonna start trying to do tricks.
heres my bmx story. i got a mountain bike about a month ago, and ive been playing around with it a lot. its a full rigid giant something or other. in this month i've learned to get my front wheel up but not manual, and i can do drop offs/hop curbs with only a slight wobble here or there. then i was in walmart, waiting on a friend to do some shopping and i wandered over to the bicycles. i found myself looking at the mountain bikes, knowing how bad they were, then i saw it: a bmx junker. i checked that no employees were around, and with exactly no gear- not even skate shoes, i decided to try to manual. i pushed down in to my bars, and shot back like im used to doing on my full rigid, steel framed mtb with a 120 mm stem, and the next thing i knew i was lying on the walmart floor. i got up, did a quick look to make sure no one saw me, checked that the bike was okay, put it back where i found it, and hurried away, and now i think i want to save up and get something like a bmx.
I just discovered these and I'm glad I did, I'm 37 and about to start riding again after a 10 year hiatus. Really cool to see you rediscover bmx and I'm looking forward to doing the same thing! Thanks for posting!
This is great stuff. I am now getting back into this thing after more than a decade and the outline of the basics is refreshing and motivating at the same time. Thanks for taking the time to put together videos and detailed descriptions.
Hey, I am a big fan. I was wondering why you do not make an edit of you riding? I love to watch you ride because you have an interesting approach at different things; I think I speak for alot of viewers when I say that. So, maybe consider it? Thanks.
Ya it's possible but I strongly recommend buying a BMX bike. Like if your staring out and have a low budget, check out the Framed Impact BMX bike, it was my first and I liked it, it's a great begging bike and it only costs around $125
Having a bad bike is no excuse to not being able to do some tricks keep practicing you can get just as good with your mongoose. Get a better bike when you can but you're good for now
SuperSlayer mongooses arent as bad as people think as long as you go to their actual website and buy a bike that isnt being sold in low end stores youll be fine
When you talked about how to bunny hop really helped me more than a lot of videos. I practiced just pulling my bars to my waist and that really helped! Thanks ❤️
Great stuff Seth. I'm really thinking into getting a BMX. How come the music kept playing on and off everytime you introduced a new topic/skill in the video?
I rode as a kid. I been riding again everyday for about a month. This video is really helpful. I am doing some of these things. I was really good as a kid. I love it so much. I'm DRYING to get better again. Thanks peace
Similar, but you need to deal with the pedaling part and the bigger bike. Obviously you can only wheelie a fixie too, not manual. I may do some fixie tutorials later this year.
I finally got it, I finally figured out how to do the bunny hop and manual. Instead of trying and failing over and over, I just watched some slo mos of bunny hops and manuals and thought about the physics and what it would be like to do it myself
thanks man ... very well spoken, and easy to fallow. now take to the street. I love the learning process. I know somethings don't come over night, just keep at it if you love it and things will come together... Charlie m.
I always rode BMX bikes growing up but never got good at it. I loved downhill mountain biking but trials were tough to find. Many years later, I think I’m ready to get back into a BMX bike. Just cleaned up my Flybikes and I’ve gotten comfy with riding wheelies, doing manuals for a little bit, and fakie but can’t quite turn around yet. I can almost footjam tailwhip but haven’t gotten back on the pedals. My Bunny hop is weak but hopefully these tips help.
this channel has inspired me to take my bike out and learn some new damn tricks beside bunny hoping after 6 years in the garage my haro is finding new life haha
thank you for the helpful tips because I am a skater but I recently bought a bmx n I would like to learn some tricks because a lot of kids do bmx where I live
This is really good thank you, I have been riding a bmx bike for two years but never learned any tricks because I thought I just wasn't naturally skilled enough and too weak, but you make it seem easy I want to try to learn :D
Seth is one of the people that inspired me to start riding bmx, I've been wanting to start for 3 years, but i bought my first bike like one year ago, and from the average bmx rider experience i have, i would say that the bike that Seth is using could be an OK bike for a beginner, but i would recommend to get something else if you're doing more intermediate tricks because this bike is mostly made of high tensile stell, doesn't have an integrated headset neither it has good components. Anyways, thank you seth for inspiring me to start riding bmx✊✊✊👍👍👍
I was really surprised how much I learned in 1 month: 15 meters manual, bunnyhop to where the stem is, 180 and whiplash. All the sweat, blood and repetition pays off real fast

NEWBIES: I’ve learned that all TH-camrs aren’t very good at telling how to bunny hop. The first part he said was true, the bring the bars to your hips part. But it’s not just all in the arms. Easily the best one of these types of videos. I just watched a bunch and watched this one last, and you do such a better job of explaining things.
Looking back at Seth's simple videos. 5 minutes or less, calm and informative. Still a great channel, but nothing will compare to this.
