Thank you for this video…but do you have one where I can see the entire kemenche while you play, and not just the pegs? 🙏

Hi Jennifer. Below is a link to another of my videos on how to tune the instrument. I will make another video in about 3 weeks as these two were done a while ago.

Jennifer, here is a video I've just uploaded on how to tune the instrument. I hope it helps. Btw, in this video you will see my plucking the string at times, that's only because the tuner app I use is on my phone which I was using to record the video.

Do you mean the pegs are slipping? The things used to tighten the strings? A bit of saliva can help. Unscrew the peg, raise it about half an inch, and apply a bit of saliva from your finger to the peg. Not too much. Then push it back in. The saliva will moisten the wood and make it stickier. Before trying this however, you may just need to push the peg into the peg box a bit so it can stay in place. Not too forceful though.
As for strings, it depends on the type of instrument. Is your instrument a Greek type? If so, is it a long narrow type that produces a higher pitched sound? Those need violin strings. I think I have a video on that. If not, a guitar 14 on the zil and two A violin strings will be fine for most other Greek type instruments.

Hey there! Thank you for the great videos! I was wondering if you could show us a "makry kaiten" it's the introduction piece before playing the Sera.

Hi there, I appreciate your comment. I can probably do a very basic one for you. Stay tuned 👍

I know that there are different size Lyes: Kapan, Zilokapan, Zilaki, Zil. but what determines the register of a Lyre? the size? or simply what you decide to tune it to? I would imagine you don't want to tune a larger instrument to the Zil because of the high tension it would bring but Im curious! Thanks 🙏

Good question. The main criterion is width and depth of the instrument. That will determine the instrument's limits and range. I'm about to start experimenting with different strings to show how they change the tone of an intrument. I suspect stings only change the quality of the sound.

How about you tell us the note tuning ρε. It makes no sense

There's no single tuning "ρε", but try AEB or GDA
