      this motor is NOT a drop in replacement. I had to redrill some mounting holes to get the sprocket to line up. Also the cheap kidd traxx gear box wont handle this for long. Eventually the more powerful motor will wear out these gears. At that point, Ill decide to do a total rehaul? or upgrade to a bigger power wheels. IT is VERY fast with my 30lb 2 year old son! Faster than he can actually handle. My 5 year old daughter handles it fine, but she is really too big at 41lbs.

      Awesome, thanks. I work in a fab shop, so Ill let them tear up the gears, then get better ones.

      @@EagleRun23 how fast would someone your son's size take before the gear box wears out? I do electronic engineering, so the PWM controller board you have, I am very familiar with.

    I built my kids a 20 cell 12V lithium battery for their normally 6V
    power wheel Lil' Quad and changed the motor and gearbox to a higher rpm
    6/12V unit and this thing hauls. The lithium battery is alot lighter
    weight than the factory acid battery so that alone makes it faster. It
    runs all day long without heating up or running down and it's so fast
    that when I take them around the block I have to run the entire time to
    keep up with it. It carries my 2 and 3 year old kids together with no
    problem, combined the kid's weight is 75 lbs.

    Awesome little build. I got a grave digger monster truck of this same size from the dump in great shape, slapped a 20v dewalt 6ah batt in it and my 3 year old was ripping around the track and came back and said her butt was hot… totally smoked the motor. Knew it was gonna happen but not that quick lol. Can you post the link for the motor you used? I got the link for the speed control. Thanks brother! My 18mo wants to ride the little thing now lol

    So, I did this... then the gears stripped on two separate four wheelers within 1 min. It would kinda be cool to see a slipper clutch like an RC car. I also thought about just transferring the whole gear box, motor, electronics from a 12v power wheels. It would be 2 speed with reverse. Then run an 18v battery.

    • @EagleRun23

    How did you hook up the wires to the battery. Also how was everything wired up. Thanks

    • @EagleRun23
      @EagleRun23  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      the Milwaukee I used has slots. so a spade or a ring connector slides right in perfect. sometimes, on big bumps it will pop out, but thats fine! I like them loose so I can swap to fresh pretty easily. wiring is just per the package in the speed controller. The bat power goes into the speed controller and then to the motor. It is really WAY easy. I am not a pro, I have very basic electrical knowledge.
