    BTDT, have fun! Oh, and I filled the wheels with expanding foam to help kill some of the noise when riding on cement or blacktop. I was going to glue inner tubes to the wheels, but they grew up too fast.

      I’d like to know if the Milwaukee M12 battery pack has built in circuitry to shut down the battery when the charge gets too low. I know some brands have it in the batteries, and some in the tools. Please advise.

    I’ve wired all my sons power wheels with 12 volt car batteries. It’s hilarious he legit can ride for hours. With two large charging prongs. Two dump trucks. His four wheeler was a little smaller so I hooked my agm battery from my $200 jump box. Legit charge every 5 to 6 hours of riding. Just make sure your power wheel is 12 volts to not burn anything up and might need to do away with any small inline fuses and replace with something larger.

    Can you link your M18 adaptor deal-y too..?
    Also wanted to point out that you'll find traction becomes a big issue outside, more so if you have gravel around the area.
    Take an old bicycle tire, cut across it, wrap around the drive wheels, and secure the bike tire right over top of the shitty plastic fantastic ones using screws.
    Traction for dayz.

    Super late to this video, but I have a kids 6v Maserati car, and my daughter will probably be in it a while given she’s still a little small for it. I want to do something like this, but I haven’t heard or read anything positive regarding 6v to 12v swaps. Is it going to burn up the one little motor?

    • @SloppyMechanics
      @SloppyMechanics  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      in my experience with 3 of them it was not an issue other than too much immediate power haha, you can buy battery adaptors on amazon with voltage regulators built in also if you want to lower the voltage but i had no issues with motor or wiring burning up with m12

  • @evelynmccullough2383
    @evelynmccullough2383 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    does the 12v battery not burn up the 6v motor?

    • @SloppyMechanics
      @SloppyMechanics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it does not with a 30-50lb child
      you can also bump the 12v cars to m18 (20v) without issue also.

      i thought about it also, but i stalled the whole motor out and it only hit 8amps, forgot to say that in the video, im thinking of getting a 10amp breaker and wiring it in, i am also going to wire in boat lights and shit for underbody and headlights - tail lights so i tink ill order one and install it when i do the rest of the wiring. just to be sure, also thought of adding in a low voltage cutoff but i dont think ill need one, we will be able to tell its going slow
