    I own a 22 G70 Seville silver 3.3t RWD. It's amazing... Everything is so sharp. The transmission is a dream. The "sports+" is a real SPORTS MODE. The Brand doesn't have to worry about cannibalization. The G70 kicks ass. Think M2 v M3.... Genesis puts all the goods in this one chassis. It's amazing.

    • @TracerHawk
      @TracerHawk 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was thinking the exact same thing Layne. I’m a big fan of all these new genesis cars and SUVs, but this is nowhere close to an M2 or M3. Still a very good car though, especially for the money.

    • @dansourile5444
      @dansourile5444 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@layne4376 he didn't compare the Genesis G70 to those cars directly. He was dismissing concerns of cannibalization within the brand. In our words, the M2 and M3 can both coexist in the same way the G70 and G80 can (I am only guessing on the second car in the Genesis line he's referring to).

KIA and Hyundai are more the day to day normal driving cars, while yes the Stinger was labeled as a Luxury type car, but it was never meant to be a full on Luxury car. Genesis pure focus is Luxury, while they share the same platform, they will always overall have much better interior as that's their main selling point.

    The G70 needs the full 3D gauge cluster! I noticed the same thing about the front wheel well liners. Not sure why half is carpet and half is plastic. I think it's the same for the Kia Stinger I believe.

    • @TheRedRaven_
      @TheRedRaven_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No it doesn't, not until the 3D cluster is refined, right now I dislike the GV70's full 3D cluster, it needs work and honestly it's such a niche complaint...I see it all too much and I believe it's because Mercedes went too far with interior lighting BUT implementing full digital clusters better. Still, Mercedes interiors still feel cheep even in 2022, it's a tit for tat, but in the end I respect the cluster design in this car, half physical, the other not to implement turn signal cameras.

      Same with the blind spot camera display in the gage cluster. Hyundai/Kia are doing things that no one else is (that I know of) and it’s always features that seem like they should be standard on every car. Reminding me of the older Mercedes S class with their tech going on to become standard in every car.

    Hyundai, Genesis and of course KIA (sister company) have the BEST LED's on the road right now, crisp, bright, and they stand out amongst others. Look at the popular K5 from KIA, they're so popular and for so many reasons, their amber daytime running lights stick out and they look great! However, I'm a 2022 G70 owner so that's likely the only positive I can say about that, lol. Of course Audi has it's little LED light show when you walk up to the car or make a turn, in my opinion its OVERDONE and will be muted in later models. It a craze, just like interior lighting is a craze even though that has been available since "The Fast and the Furious" movies came out, all of the sudden interior lighting is a big deal, not for this guy and yes for that reason. I feel like popular brands are running out of ideas so they're are going all out with "bells and whistles" but in the wrong direction. Of course, ultra luxury brands are going in the right direction by implementing subtle lights into the roof of their vehicles (Bentley, they know what they're doing) which just adds that little bit of coziness to their interiors with modern LED's.

    I actually changed my mind from Mercedes because of the reliability factor alone. As a delivery driver, I kind of have to rely on my car to start every day and work properly. I'm very busy and mechanical issues would screw over a lot of things regarding schedules. I am more specifically a pizza delivery driver for my dad's store. Our whole family pitches in and we're making sure it's operating properly. As well as being a delivery driver, I also have to open the store and run things every day until someone else comes over to take my place. Sometimes I don't even get to go home at all.
    Basically, I'm a pizza delivery driver who happens to know how to make the pizzas start to finish as well.
    Anyways, a little off topic there.
    I decided Mercedes wasn't going to be a good choice, considering their bad reliability.
    So, I started looking at Genesis instead. I figured out they have pretty good customer reviews regarding reliability, which is no surprise considering it's a Hyundai brand.
    Apparently they can last decades with very minimal issues, comparable to a Civic, even.
    On top of being reliable, they get decent performance to mileage ratio and are honestly really stunning cars, inside and out.
    I do believe I will be owning one of these beauties whenever our store is payed off. I'll be the most fly delivery driver in town. There's only one or two other genesis vehicles in town and I'd love to join the club and flex on those chargers in the Tim's parking lot next door.

I've seen about 4 of these cars at night with a dead headlight bulbs on either the left or the right hand side....which I find strange for a new remodel car....I don't know if it's a common problem with the LEDs and it's on recall but I've noticed it a few times. Also, I must say...some cars look beautiful only on video but THIS car looks actually looks beautiful in real life. It commands even more attention than your average Mercedes, BMW, or Audi. I'm not a big fan of the quilted seats kind of reminds me of a old diner and to me the advanced model looks sportier on the inside. Genesis is coming up in a big way they make a hell of a car. I test drove it one day and bought the advanced model the next even though I just bought a new car two years ago it was that impressive. I think and the next few years people are going to start recognizing Genesis as a reliable car maker and also it's not a Hyundai product and it hasn't been for quite some time. Couple weird things I noticed. I have the Launch Edition and it does not have the power trunk. Also, I thought that red interior was only supposed to be for the LE's? Mine is a US version so that may be why but weird that they only have the power trunk and red interior for the non LE's in Canada.

    Great video!!! How do you think this car would feel coming from a 2019 Volvo S60? I test drive this car recently with some of the smaller 2024 changes. I love the quality of the interior and how fast this is. I especially love the ventilated seats. But, the half digital/half analog gauge cluster and no ambient lighting vs. the competition would take getting used to. But then again, that’s why the lease on this comes out to $100 less a month compared to an S5 Sportback Premium Plus, and $200 less a month than a mid trim M340i. If you were me, would you spend the extra money and go S5 Sportback and pay for the maintenance? Or, are these cars close enough that you wouldn’t mind taking the lower priced/cheaper G79 with some of the smaller 2024 changes? Thanks!

    • @speedcanada1
      @speedcanada1 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I bought a 2023 3.3t AWD Sport (Sport Prestige in USA) after considering the M340i xD, S5 SB, etc.
      If I were looking for the most performance I could buy in the class I'd go for the BMW - the motor is WAAAAY more potent, and combines the torque with a more rev-happy nature. However, the ride was harsh, I personally disliked the "spaceship-y" style inside and out, and here in Canada it was more than 35% more expensive than the comparable G70. Additionally, as I wanted to buy the car for longer vs lease, the ability to get a comprehensive 8-year Genesis warranty at a reasonable cost allows me to "lock in" the car for the next 8 years, vs potential high out-of-warranty costs for the BMW after 4 years.
      The S5 SB (& coupe) were even less attractive as competition - although they are much prettier than the BMW, the performance is similar to the G70 but with nose-heavy driving dynamics, and similar high cost as the BMW.
      One thing I would consider is that the G70 is almost more like a coupe - say the M440i or S5 coupe - in terms of rear seat and trunk space, and also in terms of style (low, wide, long hood, short deck). This can be a plus or a minus depending on your priorities (space vs style).
      You really can't go wrong with any of your choices, it really depends on what is most important for you. Good luck!

    I know it's longitudinally mounted engine, so I presume it is RWD biased and can shift power forward when needed, with 100% at rear wheels, thus 4WD, kind of like xDrive. ??? is that accurate? Also, does it have double wishbone fnt suspension?

      I dont own either car but I really want my next car to be a sportback. The g70 is nice and I like it but rear seat legroom sucks and not having the hatch is a big difference. So a Stinger or Audo S5 sportback are kinda my dream rides at the moment. But if a g70 showed up in my driveway and someone handed me the keys Id still be thrilled.

      @@danr154 don't get me wrong I like the GV70 but it's just that red interior doesn't stop.. seats and console okay but the dash and everything else makes it look like Harley Quinns car. I own a 21' Stinger and have taken it on several long trips with friends in the backseat well over 6' and they've never complained once. Its unbelievable though the amount of space the trunk has though, I don't think any of the German cats come even close to it, I may be mistaken though.
