Now if an offender truly tries to change, they should be given that chance, and should be made to atone for their sins, because truly many are not worth than a single if that single can be saved. But when they show no remorse, and still kill more, and you still do nothing meaningful to to keep them from doing that (vegetative state, removal of limbs, nothing), then you have valued a single life above many, which is still heavily flawed.
I agree that Mark views killing as the easy way out, but I think he’ll kill if he has no choice. Mark seemed like he would’ve killed Conquest as soon as the fight started. After that first Real punch he got in the face, Mark realized that he could not match Conquest’s strength and desperately tried to reason with him. It was a move of desperation rather than hesitation.
Imagine surviving a war where you had to fight evil versions of yourself and then a yolked up, super muscular old guy descends from the sky and says “let’s fight.” Im surprised he didn’t just drop dead from exhaustion.
I know he both gets his ass beat and Atom Eve really helps but, it is really sick to see Mark take on an actual Viltrumite. When he fought Omni-Man, Mark just got demolished. It's really awesome to see him actually do damage to Conquest, really shows how much stronger Mark is getting!
I absolutely love how Invincible, the comic overall, shows that relationships aren’t just black and white and both sides will have troubles in it however learning to fix those issues without hurting each other or other toxic ways that are usually portrayed as good in a lot of teen romas is just so great to see
I never really saw him saying that he wouldn’t hesitate to kill as a good thing, I saw it as a loss of innocence, he’s become something that he never wanted to become.

The thing about Invincible is that when someone dies in the series, they're dead. When I first read about Rex's funeral, I was genuinely sad for the characters; and it was really unsettling to know that he was gone. Like a real person. Volume 12 had to be my favorite volume in the series.
It’s interesting how passionate Robert Kirkman is about his hero characters being okay with killing their villains, while at the same time, he never actually kills the villains off because he still wants to use them.
Eve caring about rex reflects how mark felt about amber when her boyfriend hit her, different emotions but the core facts of they still care about them.

Vegeta is one of my favorites because he knows that some need to just be killed. Hence why he killed the Ginyu Force and told Goku why and he was right. Goku can be too soft sometimes. Not Vegeta. He will kill you if you are threat.

But rob… I hope that in the future that you spend as much time on Mark’s emotional development to not want to kill because it’s too easy, as you spend on Mark’s decision to kill because it’s the “right thing” to do. Well if you want to know, spoilers ahead... There is an alien species that are basicly Xenomorphs but for Viltrumites. They can be killed by a Viltrumite but the problem is that they are often in big packs and their claws and teeth easily cut through the Viltrumite skin
Lets hope that Conquest wont bust out of those "chains" our insane hero leader has, on him. Because honestly, if he does escape...no more trust between Allen and our scar-faced man here. He'd kill him, to a certain degree.

It's the main thing the super hero crowd has always needed to understand and learn for the longest time. Sure, have a code of ethics where you don't always immediately resort to killing, only when it's necessary. But that's the thing is with many of the enemies superheroes face, it is not only justified but highly advised to kill these villains. Yes, Batman and superman aren't the ones directly killing people when villains do their plans, but by not killing the villains and allowing them to continually come back and murder mass quantities of people the heroes are just as responsible for every death

And truthfully based on the amounts of villains heroes let live I would even go so far as to say that anti heroes save more lives even though they kill, because at least they stop repeat murder offenders from continuing the rampage.
