    DCT all the way. I’ve had both and I love the rawness of the DCT. Really makes you feel like you’re driving a sports car. The zf is the best automatic, period, but more suited towards a cruise or a m340 type car.

    • @WhatsyourForte

      Yeah the ZF in the M3 is different than the regular one. The shift programming is more aggressive and is almost as fast as the DCT. Easier to live with on a daily basis.

    I love my DCT. I have not driven the new G80 yet. I love the way the DCT is so smooth shifting while cruising. Then on the throttle you can really feel each shift. An 8 speed DCT would have been AWESOME! I did drive by my local BMW dealership today. They have a G80 competition Sao Paulo Yellow/Yas Marina Blue inside the showroom.

    I really can't believe BMW put this damn ZF trans in the M cars. The DCT is so much more sporty feeling and direct. I don't understand the decisions BMW is making lately. Their marketing team has clearly lost their minds. Design team has lost their taste.

    I like the DCT because it feels like you are driving manual without clutch pedal. It almost feels like SMG to me. Does the ZF have the rawness of the dct? Does it creep forward if you take your foot off the brake or roll back on hills? thanks

      The speed is there but not the rawness. It is easier to live with for a daily driver

    • @PracticalInvesting
      @PracticalInvesting 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the crawling and roll back on hills was exclusive to DCT. ZF does not have those features/issues

    • @Eiswueste
      @Eiswueste ปีที่แล้ว

      The crawling function in DCT transmissions is artificially programmed in to make it work like an original torque converter (ZF 8-speed = planetary gear sets with a torque converter) which does it by the nature of its design. Difference is, torque converters have zero friction when crawling while DCTs use a partially closed clutch for that function which causes wear.
