Finally, I've seen a video with a short cook time. This one only FIVE minutes!!! Reason I'm excited is because many videos show much greater than 30min up to 45min making the meat very dry and tough. Can't wait to try this tonight.
Huge success. I opened my instant pot and the first thing I wanted to make was pork and rice. The only difference I did was to add the rice, right into the pot so that the rice was fully flavored.
I'm so hungry when I watch this video. Your video is the best. The sound is good, the video is good and touching. I will come and see you often, my friend:)
I love the fact that you puree your onion in the vitamix...I hate the texture of onions, but they are needed for flavor in recipes...I think i am making this tomorrow as I have the same thick boneless chops thawing in my refrig. Thank you for pureeing the onions!
I think I will try this tonight it looks YUM!! I just don't have the lemon! I have lemon juice! I loved your video it's well informed and u just seem soo sweet! Thanks!
OMG. My Wife and I just love this Pork Chops cook this way. We are new to the insta pot but boy oh boy is this good. My only real suggestion is if you had a way to download the recipe so I could print it out. We have a small kitchen so it would help us. Thanks again for a great Pork recipe.
@@DiningWithTara I actually made it tonight it turned out fabulous I didn’t use as much lemon I like lemon but I knew my son wouldn’t like it as much it was very good I’m looking forward to checking out your other recipes❤️
Tara.... it’s Jesse! You did my Dads my chemo. I just remembered this through my dads notes. I miss seeing you. I lost my best friend in October and I miss him so much it hurts. I will catch up on your videos.
Hi Tara, I'm new with the Instant Pot, my boyfriend just bought me the 6 quart. thanks for sharing this recipe. I know that I have to learn a lot. Since I want to make this recipe I'm very interesting on getting the rack you used in between the pork chops and the rice, also what king of bowl you use for the rice and where can I get them?
Hi Zenaida! You are going to LOVE your Instant Pot 💜 the bowls I use are very old... They are tempered glass. I've also used porcelain and stainless steel. These bowls look very nice - I am probably going to buy them myself 😍 amzn.to/3978qks
Sure, I will let you know. The bowls looks very nice, they are little bit pricey. I like the idea to make the whole dinner at the same time, I was thinking on Beef cube (beef stew) with white rice cooked at the same time.
My most desired recipe is to make Beef Short Ribs that are perfectly cooked (not over cooked - even by a little) and have an amazing memorable deep red sauce.
I have been trying to use my Insta pot more often and I came to your channel I am trying the recipe at this time I should’ve watched the video first because the rice in a bowl threw me off LOL. I’m hoping the metal bowl inside will work fingers crossed
@@DiningWithTara so first off, the flavor was great! I loved the lemon zest, it really added a whole other level. And rice was perfect for it. The only thing i did differently and wrong was i made it 6 min and not 5. I over cooked the pork. A little dry but still good. I will definitely remake this one. Thank you!
I'm using a heat proof glass bowl - I think it's a 4 quart bowl. I have a set and usually use whichever is the best size for the food, as long as it fits inside the instant pot
I believe this brand is Arc France. Imprinted on the bottom are those words. I inherited these bowls. I know that heat safe bowls work well - I would think Duralex would work well also. I'm not sure of the size, but I've used all sizes of this set. The largest that fits in the pot on a trivet is my go-to size. I hope this is helpful 💛
I haven't tried it that way - I would think it would work - though you may need more than this amount of rice so it cooks appropriately in the liquid. Rice to liquid ratio is 1:1 - and I used lemon broth for the pork chops. If you try it let me know! ❤️
Pork & Rice was delish. Here's a question: We like yellow rice from Vigo or Mahatma. If we dump a 10 oz pack in the IP, what liquid and time should be used? Thanks Tara.
Awesome 💜 thank you so much! Vigo yellow rice is enriched white rice with saffron - so it should be exactly the same as plain white rice. Are you wanting to make it with the pork like in this recipe, pot in pot? Or just make the rice in the pot?
I would probably rinse the rice well, then add 1:1 in the pot - 10 oz rice, 10 oz water and set for 4-6 minutes on high pressure, then allow 10 minutes of natural pressure before doing a quick release. I cook white rice for 4 minutes, brown for 22 minutes. I've never used that rice before - but it should behave like white rice 💙
Here's my dilemma, 10 oz pack of Vigo yellow rice (slightly over 1 cup) calls for 2 1/2 cups (20 oz) of water for stovetop. Most rice to water ratios I've seen for IP are 1:1 or 1: 1 1/4.
@@DiningWithTara Thanks Tara, Appreciate your responses. I may have to experiment with the water ratio because rinsing first would wash away some of the saffron and other spices.
Thank you so much! Its not a dumb question. I use different types of glass bowls that are heat safe (450F). Some glassware doesn't say safe for oven. There are some people that disagree with me though - saying glass in a pressure cooker is not recommended. I have never had a problem. 💜
@@DiningWithTara Thank you for the quick reply! I am not worried about trying a glass bowl in an instant pot. Especially since this recipe looks so delicious!
I can’t find a list of ingredients? Tara says the list is “below” But everything I click on does not pull up a list of ingredients with the amounts? Can anybody help I’m new to this?
Did you rinse the rice really well first? Did you follow all the steps? Water ratio? White rice? Another thing you can do is to place a plate over the bowl of rice after you remove it from the instant pot for a few minutes. Hope you enjoyed the recipe 💜
@@DiningWithTara It was great thank you for responding: Your video definitely helped expand my isntant pot cooking knowledge as I like cooking rice and meat at the same time but keeping them seperated is optimal in certain circumstances. As for the rice it seems to cook more thoroughly when not in the bowl but mixed in with the chicken with the same cooking time. I will continue to explore the different variables displayed in your video compared to my recipe as mine was a little more simplified.
