    Man, this was very long, but GREAT VIDEO!!!! showed all the things really needed & some basic mistakes. I've seen a few much shorter but they're not anywhere as helpful as this was! Really appreciate all the details & now I feel a lot more comfortable doing my own replacement.

    Thank you so much just finished my removal and replacement of my starter. Couldn't have done it without you guys thank so much. I think I would recommend loosing the 3 bolts on the coolant lines. Closest to the firewall. It was the only way I could do the twist to get starter out and back in.
    I do have a question. After I put it back together I have some smoking off the throttle body . Is their a tork requirement on those bolts ?

    Excellent video. Very well filmed and nice clear instructions. Just one comment from me, please do not wear a watch when working on cars, I started in the motor trade just over fifty years ago and I've seen guys lose their wrists because their watch strap has caught a live battery connection, the same also applies to rings. Please remove them first it only takes a few seconds. Stephen Ideson

      @@ALittleOG yes Easy just looks daunting if you never did it. Sure beats crawling under car. Make sure you have new intake gaskets and if it still has original plastic cooling pipes replace them while you are there. It will save you another starter or other overheating issues in the future.

      @@wetsoup awesome, thanks a million for the quick response. Just had mine towed to my house after months of dealing with bad starter, she finally left me stranded and I'm close to pulling the trigger. I had mechanic also suggest new plastic vent line and crank case vent hose also. Do you think these are needed? He didn't get into it, just quoted me on a starter swap and said those things should be replaced also. Thanks again!

    • @wetsoup
      @wetsoup 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ALittleOG mine is an 04 and all of the vent lines were in good shape BUT i think some people might screw up the connectors. You just squeeze them in to release. Some get overzealous and break them. Dont over think those connectors squeeze first then separate dont pull and then squeeze or you will break them.

      I can report back to say, you need to loosen the top clamp that holds the metal coolant pipes down, this then gives you enough wiggle room to remove the starter.

      @RathOne123 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jonathanb5552 did any or minimal coolant seep out by doing this?

    • @jonathanb5552
      @jonathanb5552 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RathOne123 nothing leaked at all, the top metal clamp gives you a few extra mm in slack to slide the alternator out, it doesn't disturb the pipe connections. Without doing that it's impossible to remove.
      Car all back together and working perfectly, it's not a bad job if you take your time following this video like i did.
