I travelled to the southest point of Sweden to play chess against GM Nils Grandelius, the strongest chess player in Sweden. My only goal was to beat Nils in 1 game and this became a tougher challenge than I thought. Hope you enjoy the video!

Anna, your jacket is cool. Who makes it??
omg, Anna you had that 1st game.
Chess by the seaside & in a lighthouse, quite exciting to watch & witness the joy of it all.❤
Why wasn't the Cow openning used?
You should have tried the cow.
I'm still using the cow with my phone computer. And I beat the phone every time.
-"I'm the strongest chess player in Sweden"
-"And I'm Anna."
I keep coming back to this comment, because I dislike breathing
@@pugsnhogz 🤣
Nils is such a nice guy, it's always nice seeing him in interviews and such so this was a nice suprise. Hope he will brake the 2700 barrier one day.
How hard is it to spell break
@@noplays2480 How hard is it not to be a jerk
@@noplays2480shut up or I'll brake u
He is indeed and somehow looks very much like Haywire from Prison Break :D
so true, seems like an outstanding guy. i actually really enjoyed their back and forth. i hope they name more content together.
Now you just need to beat the strongest player in Norway :)
Magnus 😂
I would say the world, I still think he is better than Ding.
@@Natefirethemagnets /r/woooosh
she already beat wirtual though
lmao, good one
Anna dressed as death from Ingmar Bergman's Seventh Seal. I love it!!!! Very iconic filmography.
This was my first thought exactly.
LOL Kind of a mashup of Legally Blonde and the Seventh Seal
exactly what i thought... :)
Nils looks a little bit like the knight too.....
You beat me to it! (y)
What a great sport Nils is, going for 6 hours straight in the rain so Anna can finally get a win in against him. Very generous to Anna and to us. Also doing some coaching and debriefing I see.
I heard that they played for another 36 hours after that, so that she could get another win. But she is still my favourite female player, so much fun.
Typical of Anna, she loses 24 of 25 games and feels positively about it. She obviously learned a lot during those losses to such a highly ranked player.
I too would feel very positively about winning a game out of 25 against Nils Grandelius.
She’s a wfm going up against gm nils grandelius what do you expect man
@@kainovllHow many chess pros would feature in such a video facing a steep edge themselves? Not many I think and that's why Ann's work here is pretty strong of herself as the other commenter mentioned.
@@kainovllThink the comment was on a relatively positive note and benevolent. It's difficult sometimes to understand fully where someone is coming from when not face to face. There's no tone of voice, eye contact, social cues, vibes, etc.
People who learn the most tend to have made the most mistakes along the way. Like in Chess for example. People who never played never made a mistake. People who play the most have made alot of mistakes. A mistake is bad when nothing is learned from it
The only man who never makes a mistake is the man who never does anything. - Theodore Roosevelt
i would be happy to draw one game out of 100
Someone told me: Nils just wants to play chess. No matter what or how, if you plays chess, he is happy. I didn't realise he (and Anna!) would take it to these extremes!
Nils seems like a nice chap. Was a pleasure to watch you guys play.
What a kind, patient gentleman.
I MUCH prefer this than trash talking
Anna’s great attitude and personality bring happiness to the world.
So true. I am not very good at chess, but just listening to her always makes me feel better/happier. A truly delightful young woman, I wish more people had her happy energy and personality.
I love how she smiles WITH her eyes. I'm happy that she is doing something that she loves - playing chess.
Any way Anna and Pia can teach me chess? 😢
I love watching Anna play chess. Win, lose or draw her enthusiasm for the game is lovely to see.
Sea sound in the background is just perfect and compliments your chess setup. Unique and good setup and liked the games. Keep it up!
Absolutely LOVING your "tour of Sweden" videos. Keep up the great vibes and kind heart...hugs from Minnesota, USA
Another person from Minnesnowta. Welcome. I live out state now, though.
I have to admit - just based off how much he seems to enjoy Chess and is ready to play a couple of lighthearted games for fun - I was cheering for Nils instead of Anna despite the fact that she's one of my favorite TH-camrs and streamers.
Anna, born and raised in Spain... moved to Sweden when she was 11, great chess player and a positive spirit all around.
Thanks for the backstory of anna. I thought she was swedish born and raised
Anna speaks Spanish?
Her father is spanish, so yes.@@DavidRodriguez-hh6kx
@@phillipemery5199 she is basically raised swedish because her mom is swedish.
@@DavidRodriguez-hh6kx Spanish, Swedish, English, there were more.
Nils tactics are amazing. He makes sacrifices look like blunders.
That first double rook sacrifice blew my mind
6 hours of chess with a GM. 1 draw and 1 win. I'm sure you learn a lot, it's really cool. If I played him until I win, we should play for YEARS lol
Nah, just have to stay awake longest. :)
Great video filmed on a typical Swedish summer day! At least this summer :).
Nils is such a good sport too, now I want to see the other 20 something games :).
Certainly at least the draw.
haha i know this was written a month or two ago but literally it was raining every day when i went to see family in malmö :( in the middle of july too!!!
The format is key: now she's adding an interview and educational interaction more than curious facts and comments about the moves. This is a great way to vary even with chess videos only, and playing in the rain is an uncommon plus. Like and all the respect.
Super fun watching these two! Two high level players absolutely enthralled by a challenge. Thier facial expressions say it all!
honestly you have to love the lady with the umbrella reversed by the wind at 13:18 😂😂
great content as always Anna!! thank you ;)
Strong "The Seventh Seal"-feel about this game.
playing beside the sea!
Anna: What openings do you play?
Nils: Yes
So funny!!
I love this GM. He seems so pleasant and articulate.
This was such fun! The joy of the games shines through. No delicate egos, no insecurity, just great (and fascinating) playing. Thank you Anna and Niels!
I love these videos of people just playing chess and talking, they’re so calming!
I love Anna’s energy she’s always so fun to watch
Great video Anna . Nils was a good sportsman . Hope we have more videos featuring him . 😊
Don't listen to that Anna Cramling imposter
I feel like I'm watching an outtake from Bergman's Seventh Seal. Anyway, it's a pleasure to see you and Nils (whose additions to whatever topic it is is always welcome).
What a dramatic location for a chess game, well done Anna.
I thought the sea was going wash over the chessboard when you started!
Brilliant setting and wonderful video as always. Thank you ❤
@Anna: would love to see a video where you analyze those games, especially the tipping points. For me it looks that until some point everything went well, and then there is a 'subtle' move which decides the whole game.
That not only was great content, (where else than here do you see chess played in the rain or up a lighthouse), but probably also quite a few interesting games to analyse for you Anna!
Not once, but TWICE, Nils sacrificed the Roooooooook! The first game is a perfect illustration of how position can often be so much more important than material. At the end of the game, Anna had an edge in material of 30 to 21. Nils had such a flexible and fluid position from early on in the game, and his pieces just seemed to flow and work together effortlessly. What a beautiful setting for chess, and I continue to marvel at how sweet, gracious, and classy Anna is. What a personality! She shines with a beauty that comes from within.
I love the outdoor settings and the creativity of your videos. I like the serious stuff too though, especially game recaps, so I hope you keep a balance.
The lighthouse was a nice touch and change of scenery. Beautiful setting
The scenery is beautiful and the wave noises are soooo peaceful. What a dream to play chess by the beach.
I love the cinematography of last videos it's just premium chess content
Loved that you played outdoors with the surf in the background, with slickers on and some rain, and it looked pretty cold too, that was fun to watch!
Two lovely souls playing chess at the Baltic sea in pouring rain couldn't dampen there kindness and awesome chess abilities 💚💚
13:18 Lady attacked by umbrella!
Its always nice to see a gracious winner. He obviously is the better player but never once did he make it seem winning was a foregone conclusion or that his victories were an entitlement. What a fun video.
Fantastic video! The Seventh Seal reference was nicely done and the games were interesting. A suggestion, what do you think about showing the computer suggested moves when one player moves inaccurately. I think it would be very instructive. Thanks for the videos!
I can't say how much I adore these videos. They are so cool!
I love how you travel the country and play chess in all sorts of locations and with all sorts of people and twists.
I've also commented that before, but: Love the editing and commentary. Really really cool!
Anna for world tour! :D
This was super fun to watch. Nils seems like a good dude, and you guys had great banter.
The framing of the main games was really aesthetically pleasing, too.
I really like your channel. I like how its a huge spin on chess... like playing in the rain, the silent room, your parents, etc. Interesting for sure... great job!
yay i'm so excited you posted a new video! it's amazing as always
This is so much fun to see just 2 people enjoying the game together.
dude is super friendly and gracious. Even though he knows hes much stronger than most.
Maybe only for me, but I truly love the aesthetical value of these videos. A simple chess set with the chess clock in the middle, a cheap table and two nice people talking while playing chess in the rain. Perfect.
Love this stream!! Nice break of all the other stuff around!!
What a cool place to play a game of chess
That was such a good sequence of moves to win the first game - I would never have made those choices as its so all or nothing to create the checkmate - supremely confident!
My fav chess vid! Love the introduction, the ending and everything in between!
What a nice guy, he is so friendly and good-natured.
Great entertainment, two great entertainers and the epic setting and the beautiful rains of Scania. Flawless video! Keep up the great work!
Chess and the beauty of these cold ,windy ,remote and silent places . Magic combination 😍
I love Anna’s smile her love of life, her love of chess, her joy, i spose I just love Anna❤❤❤❤
It's hard not to love Anna, she's just such a lovely soul.
love how they just sit in the freezing cold next to large waves and wind and rain. classic.
Nils seems like a great guy - that was fun - thank you for the cool videos
Hi, luv your content !! I have been kind of binge watching over the past few days, and just watching this game now (but paying attention) 11.10 sec into the video - white pawn E5 moves to F6 but magically the black pawn on F5 is taken ? The one that was threatening the white Queen on E4
Nils seems like such a nice guy.
The draw with no odds is even more impressive
He is SO nice! What a wonderful session. Great work guys! BRILLIANT location. As always, nice people enjoying chess. Anna you are wonderful for bringing these to us.
A nice touch of Bergman. Loved it. Cheers from Brasil.
Thanks to a very fun and interesting video and to see Nils. You are very good of finding new scenarios.
8:07 LOOOL Nils' look right at the camera! James Bond style
A perfect parody-hommage to Ingmar Bergman's Seventh Seal, the finale chess game between a young Max von Sydow (the Knight) and Death! But this version with lots of humor. Perfectly setting for this. I had to laugh all the way through! Did Death play the Cow Opening to win the fateful match?
I played a CM on Lichess once and won on time as the opponent berserked. Diregarding the fact that I was completely losing in the position, I am proud of that
Congratulations @AnnaCramling! Really enjoy your content. What type of chess pieces are you playing with?
Brilliant video, backdrop and weather! That's a great table, is it a portable one you take around with you / what are the dimensions/brand?
Always enjoyable videos... Thank you! .... Was hoping to see your Cow Opening!!!
First game and his checkmate was sick. Great example of sacrificing pawns :o
The stage is simply pergect. The sea and those waves. You guys in your table playing there, i liked it 😎
3:20 that is so sweet and so, yeah, recognisable, the arm making these- how do say - false movements? Like in Dutch "schijnbeweging"
Mij chess partner, who was my best friend always called it.
"Ha schijnbeweging!"
Lol
A thoroughly wholesome pair! Both so charming.
Wonderful spot for a game of chess
I can't believe they did it for hours!
When a rook is sacrificed from any place in the world, we can hear Levy screams The Rooooook
Anna has been poaring some really high quality content lately. It's not as much as before but really nice videos. I apreciate them. It's crazy she's able to stream so much at the same time.
Great setting. Very cinematic backdrop.
Need to get in on that Brilliant action, and congrats on that AMAZING WIN!
I just absolutely love anna’s personality 😁😁she alway makes me smile!!
I love vlogs + Chess combined 😭 best contentttt! Hopefully one day I'd play Anna too 😋
He seems like humble and all-around good guy.
What a nice man. "Enjoy" is a kind well-wish at the start of the game.
Love when you show the moves. Would like to see all games move by move.
Nils doesn't need any flashlight when he goes out during the night : his brain lights the whole landscape for him.
Would love to see a slowed down replay analysing the games.
I love the scenery with the waves in the back!
I love watching your videos of Sweden, such a beautiful country.
The set up for checkmate is thrilling to watch❤
Nils is so wholesome I love him
I loved the ocean in the background. Made for a pleasant video and the games were entertaining as well.
Anna's personality, the best! Nils' humility, world class. Cramling content, always 100%!
Beautiful video. It was really nice to watch. Nils seems lovely too!
to watch Nils checkmate Anna with a pawn - _twice_ - was amazing.
The vibes of this video are incredible I wish I was playing chess on the Swedish shoreline
I'm a new subscriber and new to chess. I enjoy your videos - they give me inspiration to push myself to learn openings and become better. I also love Sweden - beautiful countryside (despite the occasional rain). Greetings from Bulgaria (we almost won the 2023 women world title in Azerbaijan).
I love the venue you guys chose for the game!
