@EverQuestClassic EQ has a timelocked progression server going just now. It's nearly back to what it was back in the day minus some fairly big things such as respawning with your gear (so no corpse runs) or cash having weight.
@Russellt0228 I never really cared for the difficulty of EQ 1, but you're right -the world felt real and large because you actually travelled everywhere yourself --something that has really been lost in modern games.
in all honesty though it was the best in the older days. many people complained about corpse runs and all that but they were adventures no days its just different... still better than all other mmorpgs by far though. anyone else remember the days when it was impossible to find a camp because it was so packed everywhere? woot for Wood Elves!
I always bring an enemy to fight near this city but not so close to where the guards can kill it. Therefore when I'm done killing it, the song will start. Not only is the song rewarding, but I would feel like I'm on a real quest.
I've always wished they'd just remake the original everquest the same way it was, just with a modern game engine, and maybe a few slight changes here and there. The landscaping in that game would be so awesome with modern graphics.
I had an enchanter I was sooo noob back then I didn't know what people meant when they kept asking me for candy. didn't make it far in the game but I loved it
I remember plying the noobies with booze and WATCHING them fall out of Kelethin - lmao. Alchohol effects were so much better in EQ than EQ2. 1 step forwards, 2 to the left, 1 step forwards, 2 to the right - lol.
@EverQuestClassic Oh aye they are about Kunark or maybe Velious now in expansions. So there's no PoK and no Nexus. Travel is done with your ingame feet or a helpful wizard or druid.
@SubMerged0 Lol.. i played back before they intruduced innoruuk and the plane of hate. I actually had full crafted armor once on my half elven warrior. Loved my thulian claws
EQ is back and in full swing! Ecommons has about 120 people in it, black burrow can have 21 or more, Gfay have about 40+... i made a vid on how to get in. it's pretty easy! WTB SOW PST! haha

No true classic server would ever emerge without it having to be somewhat different than classic in order to stray away from copyright.Even then they still could do something if they choose, but if it's not truely"classic" they won't lose money for no one wants to play a bent rules server. All you true classic everquest fans need to bite the bullet and accept the fact that there will NEVER be a truely classic server. It just won't ever happen.Classic days are over, and will never come back.

I love the graphics on this game, and the way they crafted the levels and music gave such an atmosphere that's pleasing to remember.

Its honestly amazing how a game can do so much to you emotionally. My summers spent playing EQ were some of the most fun childhood memories :)
i spent the first hour falling off that town trying to figure out everything i could. so many memories.
