  • In this Lumion video tutorial, we will show you how to create 3D environments using drone images and photogrammetry software.
    By creating these intricately detailed 3D models of real-life environments, you can quickly provide the context for a house or building design.
    Special thanks to Ahmed Tarek for letting us use his 3D residential building for this tutorial. You can see more of his work on his Behance profile: www.behance.ne...

    Huge amount of work...it´s not only the cleaning process that is the most labor intensive part, the drone part, as you´ve shown, is also laborious when you have apps that can do it for you.

      Hi Max, this tutorial was created for current Lumion users. They don't need to buy it anymore. It looks like the video is shared a lot, so many non-Lumion users watch it. For them, yes they would need to buy Lumion for the last portion of the video. Although I suspect that many architects are happy enough with a 3D environment model which they can use in their CAD software.

      @@jean-paulwilson8534 Yes, you can use the $99/3month RealityCapture license to create a 3D model that you can import into Sketchup etc., without the use of Lumion.

    completely useless, the result model is huge, it takes a lot of resources of lumion to process it (not mentioning sketchup), also the model isn't very clear at empty spaces, I recomend using photoshop with real pictures of the site and the new features of lumion that eases overlaying the model on the picture and getting the right angle for it..

    Want to ask about Lumion render results. I constantly use mirrors in small apartments, and a lot of those mirror reflects on other mirrors. What pisses me off about this software is, why the hell are there are no infinity reflections? The mirrors that are present in one mirror's reflection is just solid gray. VRay can do it, why can't this!?

      I think so too. Import a map from Google Earth, Scale it, set it out in 2d then develop the 3d model. Whole Scene could be made in a days work or less. At least then you've got a nice clean model, consistent textures etc.
      This method would drive me mad. The thing is, people have this weird obsession with trying to make everything look like real life - but that's not the point of design or a Render.

      @valentinaurelian2980 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was using Pix4DMapper for generating mesh from Google Earth shots, this should work aswell as long as you take pictures similar to what a drone does :) the only thing I don't get is how to create correct mesh of buildings so they don't look like wax candle in the final result with "leaking" corners or incomplete balconies/ canopy/ roofs... I thought that as long as you zoom in and export high-res image the 3D should turn out accurate at least with minimal simulation of corners not rounded up since regular buildings are rectangular objects, not rounded.
