I, for one, am glad that you decided to share your epic Elder battle with us. I've played Valheim so much that I was hearing all the effects in my head so I didn't really miss them. 😉 Besides I come to these videos to hear your narration any ways, so it all worked out for the best! btw, I loled when I heard your reaction to seeing the troll 😂 Keep up the great work with the videos!
Still a great episode. Definitely helped having the black forest ambiance sounds in the background and then the burial chambers ambiance sounds as well.
Been watching season 4 & had to start season 3 to get my fix haha while I wait for new episodes. You are a blast!!! Your commentary is what makes watching so fun. Watching you & listening to your explanations makes playing valheim as a newbie not feel so overwhelming. Thank you for that!
I'm so thankful you decided to share this episode with us, even with the sound problems. It would have been a shame to miss such a great Elder battle! I've got to tell you, your pit fight with the troll was one of the best things I've ever seen on YT. Definitely my favorite Valheim content ever. Even my non-gamer husband got a kick out of it. I'm always excited when I see you've posted a new Valheim vid. Thanks for all the work you put in!
The fight was too good! I HAD to share it! and thanks! That pit fight was hilarious and stressful and EPIC! everything you want from an adventure game. haha. glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and for hanging out here at the Digital Hermitage!
Hiccup! I understand this series started a year ago, but I will say, you can turn your chests sideways in the "shelves" to add more/save space! I have a shelf about the same size, and I've fit about 20 chests or so. Mine starts from the ground, however, but more could be added!
That was awesome Hiccup, I don't know how many times I have had a Troll wander into my Elder fight, it's like they hear the commotion and come running. I feel like there is always a Greydork spawner near by the Elder spawn too. Your music was just as good as the boss battle music, forgot it was missing in the moment lol.
Awesome! Thanks for watching! and yea, What is it with the Trolls just knowing when the elder is up. haha. they really DO just come over when that fight starts, I swear you're right.
I didn't really miss the game sounds, honestly. We're here for the Hiccup commentary anyway! (But I swear I heard everyone of your parries! lol) I tried to tell you about the Graydwarf spawner when you went YOLO into the Elder fight but you couldn't hear me. 🤣
Thank you for going ahead with sharing this! Since you have been living underground you should make your base under the elder summoning place. it makes a really safe place!!
Hi Hiccup! I just came across your channel this week and am loving going through this playthrough as I absolutely love Valheim. I just wanted to chime in on your comment about the ghost attacks in chambers. There may not be visual queue but there is an audio queue! When they start to hiss (Idk what else to call it lol) they are going to attack and they 100% can be parried! Keep up the great content!!
Fighting Eikthyr in the ocean. Not picking up your gravestones. Fighting the Elder near a Greydwarf Spawner. (6:59) I you're less Hiccup the Hermit and more Hiccup the Masochist
Definitely a good battle! Lack of sound doesn’t affect my enjoyment and I may not have even noticed if you hadn’t mentioned it, lol And I really didn’t miss the puking sfx at the beginning 😂
you deserve so much love I'm pretty sure the playthrough is over i just wish you wouldn't been punished with the dropping your stuff if you died but really enjoying it so far having few beers on my birthday and enjoy the videos. cheers
This is awesome! Happy Birthday!! Enjoy the brews and videos! May your night be filled with entertainment and intoxication! Lol. Have fun! And thanks for watching!
Well, that's a pain in the bum! I'm sorry you're having so many issues, but I always enjoy watching your episodes. I really must get back to my lass Signe, she's been languishing far too long while I've been busy with other ... stuff. Skal!
Also, despite the lack of 'spices/herbs' in Valheim, I alwas interpret the Minced Meat Sauce as looking like a curry, which, YUMMY. That and the deer stew look amazing.
yea... I really try to prevent this from happening... but sometimes, even when I double check everything... I'll load up a video in my video editor just to find missing bits a pieces... it really bums me out sometimes. But thanks for watching anyway!! Both meals look so tasty! lol most of the food in valheim does look tasty... except for maybe the muckshake.. lol
I know this is 4 months late, and you may have already solved it by now, I don't know, but I can 100% hear the killing blows on those skeletons when you were in the crypts. It's super quiet though, so it might just be a volume thing somewhere? Maybe? Just tryna be helpful!
I think dungeons need a big rework to make them more interesting. The whole game in general could use some more content really, I still think it's a masterpiece regardless. New/updated dungeons, more building pieces, more mobs in the already existing biomes, more weapons, different ways to accumulate gold(mobs have chance to drop gold), I would also love to see Haldor have a lot more items and maybe even really expensive unique weapons
@@HiccupTheHermit It's still one of my favorite games of all time, I have nearly 1200 hours put into it so naturally I am craving new content lol it is definitely a complete game but I often find myself in game thinking wow this would be a really cool feature that could be implemented in vanilla. An increased build height for terraforming is something that I think absolutely needs to happen. If I could implement a single feature, it would be to have a way to remove stone circles and runestones. Maybe if you pickaxe a runestone you get some sort of curse (debuff) for "defying the gods" for X amount of minutes but in turn you get to remove the stone so you can build in that area. I'm aware there are mods that allow you to remove immovable objects but it feels like I'm cheating. also, I LOVE your videos man!
@@scavyboi Yeah, totally get it. After that much time you do start to look for new stuff. I really like that idea! Removing the runes and being debuffed for a while. that's fun. They do tend to be in really nice little areas sometimes. Would be awesome to be able to remove them in vanilla. Thanks! Thanks for hanging at the the Hermitage!
@@HiccupTheHermit I like actually using them - build on the stone circles so you're above ground (makes for a great house platform) - if you do it right you can get it so it's completely suspended above ground. I've also just built a tavern around one of those runestones - you can build onto them and through them (i.e. if you put a stone floor down, stone slabs will go 'through' the runestones if you hover the clickpoint on the next slab, if that makes sense). It makes for a great talking point in a tavern! :)

That fight was way too fun to not share! Thanks for watching, glad you liked it even without sound!
Still a great episode. Definitely helped having the black forest ambiance sounds in the background and then the burial chambers ambiance sounds as well.
Yea, thats good. I really wanted to salvage this one somehow, it was jam packed with all the good valheim moments!

That was great! No worries about the sound. Absolutely love your content! The missed spawner during the boss fight was hilarious 😂
Glad you enjoyed!
I know, sometimes I am so focused on the task at hand I miss the little things in the background. haha

LoL lots of action in elder fight, well done!
It was quite a bit of chaos this time around!

haha! I can't believe i missed that spawner! It was sooo close!
Epic fight!
Even with all the hiccups. *dadum *dis! Sorrry for the craziness!
hahaha, Thanks!!

Just started my Valheim adventure for the first time. This series has been alot of fun so far, even though i am a year late.
I enjoyed this episode!!

Toll always happens to me 😂😂
The troll sounds you hear in the burial chambers is because there’s a troll cave next to the chamber above ground 33:52
Fighting Eikthyr in the ocean.
Not picking up your gravestones.
Fighting the Elder near a Greydwarf Spawner. (6:59)
I you're less Hiccup the Hermit and more Hiccup the Masochist

haha, Bukeberries do make your character make some awful noises, haha.
The main thing is that you still had something to show. Bummer that this happened to you. Do not get too upset about it. The battle was EPIC!
I thought that battle was too good not to share too! Thanks for watching!!
This fight is practically identical to my fight with the Elder recently. Except, you know, I died. 😉

I feel like a lot of that is probably coming. The game still has so much more to come!
