The day before yesterday I went to the concert here in México City of Silverstein, I bought a silverstein shirt to my best friend, but that day my best friend died in a motorcycle accident, yesterday in the funeral I gave him the shirt, damn...I am so frustrated but almost I said him goodbye and gave him a last gift... RIP Christian.
The premise of the video is the process of grief, with denial, anger, bargaining, and acceptance being the four stages (The bargaining, I can't seem to find in here right away, so someone else find it if you can). Denial is apparent up until 1:45, acceptance is shown at 1:45 (at least accepting the confrontation of the unknown enemy in the van), and anger is shown as he is chasing himself towards the end. Overall, the beginning acts as foreshadowing to a cyclic conflict of one's self, and when the ending shows the man giving himself chase in the van, it creates a dramatic irony with great power with repeated viewing- WE know what is troubling him, but he doesn't. Also, it is common for a person to blame one's self for any type of trauma that has occurred, from divorce to murder and from suicide to a loved one passing away. Overall, this epitomizes the process of cyclic conflict down to the last detail. Well done, Silverstein.
I know how you feel about this song and her passing. It sucks to lose someone that you're so close to. One of the best albums that I can say that I've ever heard.
I just lost my fiance to an oxycotton overdose. I was the one who found her. This song has brought me relief from it all. Acceptance and remembering the good times. Thank you for an amazing song.
I love the song, the music video is talking about how much he can't let go and how in the end. The constant hurt that he is being given and reminded of is from himself because he can't let go of her. I love this song with a passion, it basically describes me with my situation and still getting over my sister not being here anymore. Thank you Silverstein for giving me a song that describes me.
This song hits me in the right place everytime. Was jamming out an old playlist i made a while ago and this song came on. Literal goosebumps.. This song has everything i need. That chorus.. The breakdown.. the meaning. Its beautiful.
What's even odder is that they have shot a music video for this song, yet according to setlist.fm it seems like they've NEVER played it in concert. (To be fair, the website doesn't have a setlist of every show so it might have just fallen through the cracks, but I still think it's weird.)
Maybe I have more luck when they have the "for the fans tour" in germany. So we can vote for the songs. But I guess the fans vote for the "classic" songs like heroine and smile in your sleep. That would be really sad.
Nice, have fun! I wanted to buy the Cologne/Dortmund/Münster ticket bundle but it was sold out less than 6 hours after it went on sale, ended up just buying a ticket for Dortmund since I'm going with a friend and the Cologne date coincides with her father's birthday... but I'm still considering buying a ticket for Cologne as well xD
Explaining the video: The car is his fear, spending all his days running from it. Mid video, he faces it. I won't explain further, since its the song that matters here, which is awesome ofc.
sweet video! I saw The Silversteins at warped tour 2013. Got right up front and got some sweet pictures! Then was 3rd in line for an autographed shirt. Highlight of warped tour!
I'm hip hop fan from Czech Republic. I love Mac Miller, Jake Miller, Eminem, etc. I hate rock, metal, etc. [All with guitar :D - flame me now], but this song is so AWESOME. I really love this. Thanks guys for refresh my playlist. :') (btw hello from The Czech Republic :D]
I heard this song a while ago I lost my bestfriend and my only girl because of that dude she loves him very much and I love her but I cant confess my feelings until she constantly left without leaving a trace damn. I miss her
... Thursday; Dance Gavin Dance; Chiodos; Emarosa; Closure In Moscow just to mention a few others. Thankfully this genre doesn't lack in awesome bands.
No, Massachusetts paired song is California A Better Place… To Live and to Loose That’s this song’s pair, To Live and to Lose. A Better place tells the story of loss from the point of view of the guy and how essentially goes thru the stages of grief. To Live and To Lose tells the story of loss from the point of view of the girl who’s in the afterlife trying to get back to his boyfriend but realizes she can’t.
Man no matter how old I get, Silverstein will always be one of my all time favorite bands
2022, you’re still right about that 🤘🏻🔥
Yesssssss

Yup. Never ride a motorcycle buddy. Not worth it! 1 crash = 1 death basically.
Let's hope he is in a better place :)
He was a good person, I know that he is in a better place, I hope to meet with him once again. =)
Thx.
A Day To Remember, Silverstein, Underoath, Atreyu/The Devil Wears Prada/ABR=the best classic-core bands

Silverstein always stuck to their sound. I love that. I've been a fan since the beginning.

It's been almost 1 year since she was taken from me. I feel your pain and this song is an amazing tribute.

Ron Flores Very well put. I believe bargaining would be the last line of the song.
But why doesn't he just go up some stairs or climb a tree
Believe this song is in response to 'Massachusets' (likely butchered that rip).
Then 'To Live and To Lose is the final part to it.
My sister passed away literally yesterday(11/21/13), and one of the last songs I heard with her was this one.
She is in a better place...
v0rtex87 Exactly, that's why I found it a little ironic that this is one of the last songs I heard with her.

The concept behind the video is that when you are running away from problems, you're running from yourself. Though you might not even know. Yet.

x2 speed option? Awesome
I always get what the song says but i never seem to understand the videos.
***** Well, I feel that they should fire the video director. With this lyrcs they could have made a much better video.
It's not the band its the director who makes these choices, but I totally agree.
