I didn't realize that Ray the crippler Stevens got a bad injury that virtually ended his career. That's the thing I love about these shoot interviews....you just keep learning new facts about these peoples lives. Fascinating.

Thank you for airing these videos!
I took for granted how great the Mid Atlantic TV was back in the day ( but in my defense, I was a little kid ). But the TV Crockett was putting out back then was like a who's who of wrestling.... Valentine, Funks, Brisco's, Wahoo (my favorite), Steamboat,Flair, and the list goes on and on. All from a little TV studio here in NC. Those were the days!

Freight Train Jones was one of the earliest wrestlers that I can remember. Loved to watch that guy!!!

I remember seeing Greg Valentine at Disney World in December 1980. He was there with his wife and kid. My dad said, "look, there's Greg Valentine". I couldn't believe it was really him, but it was! He may have been a heel, but on that day he was just a normal guy having a great day with his family. Cool memory from childhood.

He gets grumpier too. I see him at wrestling and comic conventions in North Carolina all the time. He's grumpy all the time but still likes the fans. Lol

It seems that every wrestler and manager always says positive things about Ray Stevens. I wish I could have seen him more in his early years, but I lived in the WWWF territory watching on UHF channel 47.

I personally met Wahoo a few times, nice guy but a man of few words. Just wasn't into talking to anyone at all very much

It appears that Greg Valentine has an excellent memory of his past exploits in the territories. IF the interview is in 2000, he's recalling events in detail almost 25 years earlier. Some of the wrestlers from this era have NO decent memories from ALL the concussions they suffered.
