+bryan3550 Your appreciation has been sent to the cameraman Kay9. Don't miss my "Driver's view Belgrave line" video to see the whole line from a limited stops train.
+James PB Thanks James. Future videos will include the Blackburn return working, Flinders Street via Loop, Tram routes 64 and 67 will also appear in due course.
I’m not actually the driver so I don’t know what happened next but a look at the public timetable could show whether trains normally terminated there. It is also possible that the line was closed beyond Blackburn while a crossing removal was being done further out on this line.
@@johnb1150 How would I know? I live on the Gold Coast and you should be able to check maps just as easily as me, and if you live in Melbourne, check town access much more easily than me.
I like this line. I would like to know what the general reasons are for some of the speed limits. For example you wrote that there is a 50km/h limit between Burnley and Hawthorn, could you please tell me the reason for this?
TheGoldTitan Usually curves in the track result in lower speed limits, the sharper the curve the lower the speed. Sometimes there can be speed limit through junctions and especially crossovers. Warning and Caution temporary speed limits are for sections of track which are below standard awaiting repair.
VincentKoh LUMCFan Last week’s video,’ driver’s view empty cars to Liverpool’ was a nice express run in Sydney. If you check my drivers view play list for Melbourne trains, there is one fast trip to Maranda and another down the Frankston line but I forget to wear it went.
VincentKoh LUMCFan Unlike Sydney, Melbourne has little in the way of ‘Express’ services and apart from missing one or 2 stops, does not have much. But if you want just fast rides, look at the Werribee and Sunbury Driver’s Views videos.
tressteleg1 true. I only remember there r services like the Belgrave and Lilydale lines skipping all stations from Camberwell to Box Hill, Pakenham and Cranbourne lines from South Yarra to Caulfield and Werribee line from Newport to Footscray as well as the Altona loop.
Here is what my friend has reported: To become a driver: There are always many more applicants than positions available so in that regard, yes it is difficult. It's a multi-layered selection process consisting of on-line and face-to-face interviews and psychometric testing. Once selected, it's a 41 to 50 week course, classroom based for the first few weeks followed by on-the-job training. Assessments both theoretical and practical are conducted roughly monthly and include material covered in prior assessments so the amount of study required increases as the course progresses. This is while working shifts with your on-job-trainer so if you've never worked shifts previously, that adds an extra dimension to the experience.”
I can’t see your second comment here but it did arrive by email. TH-cam has stuffed up comments lately. My background until 1987 was Sydney so I am also more familiar with those train types. All the newer ones look the same to me.
+desihaha No it was normal service just near the end of the morning peak, where workers were all going the other way and everyone else was still in bed.
The only problem with removing graffiti (on things other than the trains) is that it is bound to be back again very soon. Just look at the new kippa ring line in Brisbane, some idiots have already gone around tagging everything. Why do they bother buying spray paint just to waste time tagging something that no one takes much notice of.)
True, but there is a huge cost. Also you have all those idiots in the TH-cam comments that say "graffiti is good" (only on anti-grafitti news reports though) that will somehow manage to stop a big cleanup from happening. Also the government will be to lazy to make it happen. The best way is just no giving them the chance. Don't make large flat walls with white paint and you won't get people tagging it. Look at the kippa-ring railways' sound wall between some of the stations. They have animals painted on them. There still is a bit of graffiti but they are more likely to clean it off and it is not significant. They should just pay these graffiti kids to just paint good looking pictures of relevant things in graffiti prone areas.
Lovely! I grew up on Taits and Harris's on this line in the '60's.
Never thought I'd ever see it from this angle... Many Thanks!

I noticed at Richmond it said now arriving at Hawthorn
Sometimes the tram announcements get out of step so I suppose the same can happen with the trains. Usually they fall into place sooner or later.
What do you do once you get to blackburn, keep going after the passengers get off or do you come back to flinders?

@@tressteleg1 okay thanks, have you got coldstream at all?
No. Electric trains never ran there, and other trains not for very many years.
@@tressteleg1 coldstream has no train station? How would i get there then?

Is it difficult to become a train driver how long does it take
I’ll try to find out but it may take a few days. I expect that it would take most of a year to learn.
tressteleg1 will train guards ever come back I think the government should bring them back.
A driver told me after guards’ removal that he then realised a lot of delayed departures were caused by guards. Good Riddance, according to him.

What are these train's called I know that's not a comeng
If it has 2 doors on each side it is a Siemens. If it has 3 doors per side it is an Xtrapolis (when it is not a Comeng).

Lilydale and gelgrave
I have no Lilydale to date but will look into Blackburn to Belgrave post crossing removals. Maybe I have something.
