2024 Hot Rod Power Tour Day : 0 "The Drive Before The Drive"

- It's that time of year again folks, mid June means Hot Rod Power Tour time! For the 2024 Hot Rod Power Tour we're letting the 1979 AMC AMX take a breather, it's done the last 3 Long Hauls and we figured that's probably proved a point. This year we're bringing the all original bone stock 1991 GMC Syclone, so we're cruising in comfort! Not only that, but this little black truck has A/C which is going to be a wild experience on HRPT!
Fortunately for me the Hot Rod Power Tour 2024 locations are much more central to me here in Ohio, with the Day 1 check in about 6 hours away in Beechbend Kentucky. However, I'm going to detour myself, and stay about 2 hours away from there instead of rushing straight to the venue. With my recalculated route I'll also get to stop at one of my favorite BBQ joints, Red State BBQ just north of Lexington!
The plan at this point is to do daily videos Power Tour as I usually do, obviously plans can change but that's the plan at this point. The 2024 HRPT has begun, let's have some fun! - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

We’re heading down tomorrow in our 78 AMC Pacer again. We hope to see you this time - maybe in Hebron, we’re staying in Clintonville at our sons that night. So bummed the AMX isn’t on tour, might have to run by Lucore Racing!

Welcome to Kentucky. Next time you’re here take the old road 27 to Cumberland. Two lanes 90% of the way. Plus In nicholasville BP has 93 ethanol free. Say hi to my friend Damian Terrell who works for Haltech in Lexington. This is his first power tour. And you did the right thing by not stopping at liquor barn. That place is dangerous. 🍺🥃. It's 33 years old, and really COOL!! Most people don't have a clue what it is, and how valuable they are! Hope this trip puts a smile on your face, but most importantly it does the same for your dad!!!! PEACE ✌️

Clean little truck! I've wanted one of those for a long time, and in recent years prices have gone out of my price range. I'll have to settle for my '89 S10 with a 6.0L.

Austin, we will be at Hebron and Indy. My 80 Z28 wasn't ready, and since we're taking our son, I entered my 13 Cruze LTZ RS in the tour so we'll have AC. Hope to finally meet you on the tour, even though your shops only 30 minutes from me
If you're stopping in Lex off manowar, go to Rafferty's brother. Some of the best food in Lex. And I love going to Lex, I've had a lot of different restaurants there.

Dude I was in bowling green for the npk event this past weekend.. when I woke up yesterday morning all I saw was hot rods! I was like wtf is going to on here… went out and talked to a fella that had a s10 there and told me about power tour.. man I would love to do that..
I have enjoyed your adventures Austin! I have noticed you did not get around to securing the headliner that you mentioned when you first showed us your truck. Not a criticism, just an observation. Have fun!
That BBQ joint reminds me of Hillbilly Hot Dogs here in WV. You should try it sometime. Love da Buckee's! First one I visited was when we were racing at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham AL. Hit one in TN but don't remember exactly where then we did the one in Florence SC. Ya know it's big when they have their own exit off the big road!

I was born in Cincinnati and basically raised on Skyline. Moved to Florida when I was 15. One of only three Skylines in the state was opened in my city. My kids now love it. Unfortunately we all now live in Maryland with no Skyline. My daughters took me back to Cincinnati last summer to see where I grew up and of course we had Skyline several times that week.
Good spirits are necessary! It is a mood improver and a means of relaxing. Please partake for your journey, it will serve you well.

Its been some time now since the truck got the black textured plastic trim revived. My question, how did it hold up? Did you re-apply? Can you show it quickly in sone future vid? And, what "was" it again?(brand). You only live once...take your dad n hit the ROAD in that thing n have FUN!
I'm looking forward to your videos and not being a smart a** but here in Canada wearing saet belt is a law in every Province. I see in the first part of this video, typing this after watching only the first 3 mins of the video, whie u r in Ohio you aren't wearing your Seat Belt so wondering are there States where wearing a seat belt is your choice ?
