    I have a question. Would a professional trailer editor get access to the entire film footage library to create a trailer how they see fit or are they only given specific pieces along with a brief on what the studio is looking for?
    Thanks in advance.

    • @FilmEditingPro
      @FilmEditingPro  ปีที่แล้ว

      Typically the full movie in rough form. Sometimes when the trailer cutting begins very early in the film’s production the trailer editor will be working from dailies/rushes. That is uncommon though.

    Hey Chris - I’m curious as to what you think about the new trailer for FAST X. Not only did they drop a trailer that is almost 4 minutes long, they dropped nine completely new “legacy” trailers for all the films in the Fast & Furious franchise. Do you think this is the beginning of a new trend that is here to stay?

    • @FilmEditingPro
      @FilmEditingPro  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! I can’t speak to the legacy trailers but regarding the 4 min version, each studio is allowed one “exception” trailer per year, which can be longer than 2:30 for theater use. It sounds like this was their annual exception.
