This is more common than people think. My mother was/is exactly like this my entire life. I am 31 and do not speak to her, my grandparents, or my brother. They don't want to take sides and will say things like "oh you know how she is" simply because it's better for them not having to deal with the intolerance with being in the wrong. My step dad would stand by her againt me, then behind her back try to "really" be on my side. It is so extremely damaging to have a parent that behaves this way, not only because it's hurtful mentally and physically but you are gaslit, ignored, and blamed by others who let it continue making you question yourself as to if you are being irrational and dramatic. Parents are in control of your entire life and by the time your old enough to get out you don't have the equipment to succeed in the world. Being a parent myself, I honestly cannot fathom treating my babies this way. It's disguesting.

My Mum was quite similar to Kellyanne, only Kellyanne is worse than my Mum was. Claudia is going to have a lot of catching up and figuring out to do, more than the average person thanks to her Mum. I also had the same dynamics with my Dad doing nothing about it because he was so scared of my Mum. (I'm guessing it's the same for Claudia, I know it when I see it.). It's going to be great for Claudia when she gets out of that home, she can start developing then. But she'll certainly have issues she'll need therapy for. I don't have kids, but I have a dog that's under my care and I wouldn't treat my dog the way my Mum treated me, I know if or when I have kids I'll feel even more angry at my Mum for the way myself and my siblings were treated.

Yelling at your children isn't verbal abuse, what she yelled was certainly verbal abuse.
My opinion was the dad was a ruse so the public would not hate on the daughter. The mom went all out on her alternative facts campaign to appease her boss at the time knowing it could destroy her daughter but the dad kept up possibly being truthful in his opinions. What they didn’t consider is the effect on a helpless teen girl caught in this political mess they created. I still Stan with daughter.

it’s incredibly insensitive for keemstar to call people weak and pathetic for pointing out obvious abuse. i’ve recently just escaped my verbally and psychologically abusive, narcissistic father. the way kellyanne yells at her daughter is similar to how my father used to yell at me. claudia being a victim of abuse isn’t a question, it’s clear from all this evidence. i really hope keemstar never has children if he thinks this abusive behavior is okay. along with thinking it’s okay to put the blame on a child, rather than an adult who should be more mature than the child.

I have never relented off my stance about political figures and their children and partners regardless of party - their personal business is none of our business. I felt that way about Hillary with the Oval Office BJ scandal. I feel that way about Trump wives and any children who are not also in politics.
This stance is harder with the Conways, but I think both need to be treated as individuals, not as a couple. If they are comfortable in their marriage, we have/had no business telling them they were wrong not to have marital problems due to very different public political beliefs.

He was subjected constantly about bis personal life and Mary was not. She was questioned only as a professional unless they both were interviewed together. Even then, interviewers focused primarily on James and not his wife. So, Mrs Conway is 100% wrong about no one questioning a man.
I want to point out that I’m apolitical when it comes to both the Conways and Carville/Matalin. I personally am not a fan of any of them, but also not against them.
About Hillary, I viewed her fair game any time she was political. It was only her private life where I thought she was off limits. Last year when Pelosi briefly brought up her family over ice cream, I viewed her comments as offensive. News programs left them alone; Pelosi herself was the villain.

My Mum was quite similar to Kellyanne, only Kellyanne is worse than my Mum was. Claudia is going to have a lot of catching up and figuring out to do, more than the average person thanks to her Mum. I also had the same dynamics with my Dad doing nothing about it because he was so scared of my Mum. (I'm guessing it's the same for Claudia, I know it when I see it.). It's going to be great for Claudia when she gets out of that home, she can start developing then. But she'll certainly have issues she'll need therapy for. I don't have kids, but I have a dog that's under my care and I wouldn't treat my dog the way my Mum treated me, I know if or when I have kids I'll feel even more angry at my Mum for the way myself and my siblings were treated.

This sounds like a common case of dysfunctional household and toxic parents. Thousands of children live in households like Claudia's, it's nothing special. The only difference is that her parents hold fame and status. But just like everyone else she has to grow up and move on, trauma and all.
