From their campus in Kona, Hawaii, and others in 180+ nations, the mission mobilizes 20,000 full-time volunteer missionaries and hundreds of thousands more short-term volunteers. Loren founded YWAM to send missionaries from all nations to all nations. The mission and university share the gospel, teach, and help the needy worldwide. Loren has inspired faith in the next generations. "Jesus is winning! Jesus is winning! As I've gone through the nations, I'm watching a rising tide. He unlocked the world of missions for millions, calling young and old, women and men, from all denominations and ethnicities. After several trips around the world and years spent mobilizing youth missions, Loren's efforts grew into a movement called Youth With A Mission (YWAM). Concentrated discipleship training were led by Brother Andrew, Joy Dawson, Corrie Ten Boom, and Loren Cunningham. You see the Bible says in Mark 16 verse 15, "I want you to go into all of the world and preach the gospel to every creature." Rallies and short-term outreaches grew into schools and long-term missions. In 1977, Youth With A Mission bought and renovated a bankrupt, dilapidated former hotel to become YWAM's first campus for the University of the Nations. Loren co-founded the university with renowned scientist, inventor, and professor Howard V. Malmstadt. In 1984, Loren and his sister Janice Rogers wrote their first book. Now, their books are in 150+ languages. In 1963, he married his wife, Darlene, who co-founded the mission with him. They immediately flew to Europe for a mission's outreach. They shared the thrills and challenges as Youth With A Mission expanded. The Cunninghams moved to Switzerland with their seven-month-old daughter, Karen. Their son David was born there in Lausanne, Switzerland. In 1974, the family moved to Hawaii and kept moving 18 times as the mission rented many places. He helped his family go together to all the world. Lauren went to the Lord two days ago. My mom, yesterday. Both were, a few month apart, born in 1935. What a glorious moment, when this hero in the faith will receive his reward from the Lord...

What a beautiful man of God! Only met him once. His book, "Is that really you, God?" greatly impacted my life. It challenged me to see God as my friend, and not to project onto God the relationship I had with my own earthly dad, it challenged me to change the way I think about God, the world, and people. What a man of God ❤
So thankful for Darlene and Loren's lifelong dedication to respond to the call of God, walk in steadfast faith, lead an extraordinary organization, inspiring millions of us to be involved in the most important work of all - to know Him and make Him known. What an impact they have made!

Amazing man. I was able to interview him here in Singapore a few times, always passionate and consistant in his message. An huge icon in the missions world. Thank you Loren, you changed my life and wouldnt be where I am today without your investment into sending young people into short-term missions. Because of you I'm still on my mission.

Lauren went to the Lord last friday. My mom went yesterday. Both were born, a few month apart, in 1935. What a moment, when Lauren will stand in front of the Lord, to receive his reward....
