Some Honest Missionaries then you guys will be running DTS school soon? We are having a fun time trying to figure out how to get students to Hawaii for DTS with the two week quarantine order in place. These are very interesting times for missions, but I feel they are also a very pivotal time for missions and that we are going to see great fruit from those pressing in despite the circumstances.
My wife and I are making the big decision to do YWAM Family DTS, we’re still praying about it, but we feel so much favor. It’s just the finances portion that we feel like it’s impossible, but I know God will provide.

So great! When do you think you'll go? We're not there anymore but we know the leaders of the Family DTS really well and our kids went to school together and Siobhán taught one of their kids in school too. If I'm not mistaken I think that they are doing a family DTS in January this year aren't they?
I am finishing up my application now. I am so excited to see had God has for me there. Being single with no kids at 43 who knows I may meet an amazing woman to do missions with. I commend y’all! So beautiful together! You are living my dream!
I’m amazed at the size and modern charm of the campus. So great to have a safe place for you to let the boys to run and play, too. ❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼

Hey Roz! Sorry it took me so long to respond. It really has been a wonderful place for our family :). How are you and Scott? Are you hunkered down somewhere in your RV for all this Coronavirus stuff?
Trent & Siobhán The campground opened later, we were required to social distance for awhile, but things have mostly returned to normal-ish. Planning to head to the Southwest from Nov-April! Missing your vlogs!

I know...we need to get vlogging again. Life just seems so uninteresting and uninspiring right now. Don’t know who would want to watch it 😂
I know its got to be awesome to be around People who want to help the world And Teach the Gospel wish I coyld be there but hey I never Know what or where God has for me to go amen in the Blood of Jesus!!

Don’t need to keep wishing. Just come :) There are amazing YWAM communities all over the world that anyone can go to. Sometimes God is just waiting on us to take a step of faith. Our family of seven said yes to go to YWAM when we had nothing and had no idea how we would even get to Hawaii, much less pay for our DTS training.
Yeah, I’m so glad you answered some of my questions by showing. Siobhán, you simply must show us women how you did your hair. I’ve never seen that and it sure looks like a curl. I love it. Now I know about the poem mic place . I’ve been wondering. Looks like a wonderful place to be. I’m happy you all are so happy! Love you!

Hey! Are you all still there? We are looking at it for our family of 6 kids ages 5-10. I did my DTS in 2007 and have been dying to get back out on the field!!!

Hey Jeanette, we are not there anymore. But we'd be more than happy to talk to you about it. We absolutely loved our time there and thought it has come to a close - that was always the heartbeat of YWAM to send people out just like we have been! Shoot us a message!
That was a great tour☺️☺️. So where were you when Micheal w Smith came and worshipped with you? Did he sing any of his new songs ❤️

Trent went to the session. That was at the Fire & Fragrance tent where all things exciting happen 😂 He was a last minute drop in guest because he was in the area and most people were in class or staffing class and that’s why it wasn’t a big corporate session. Trent just happened to not have a class at the time so he was about to sit in as all staff were invited. He said it was fun. He did some of his old stuff and some newer stuff :)
Hey guys, thanks for the tour! I lived at hale ola for a year about ten years ago. Worked with mission builders and it's really great to see how much the campus has developed since my time there. I'm happy to see the cafeteria completed, I spent thousands of hours working on that building and the dorms adjacent to the soccer fields. Seeing this video brought back a lot of great memories for me! It sounds like some names of places have changed but the flags are still the flags! I've been told my names on a plaque for the cafeteria building which is flattering and I hope that they have many more names on it. It took a lot of very dedicated folks to make it happen. Please enjoy that campus! God bless!

Love this! There are so many good people here serving so that young people can be trained and go out to be a light of the goodness of God in the nations! Thank you for how you’ve served. We are so grateful to be at YWAM Kona and see our kids growing in their faith.
Brother Trent, I am a missionary in Japan! But going to take Sabbatical next month. Could you kindly link me to the proper place at Kona that would possibly offer a place to stay on campus for a 3 month retreat for some R&R on island? I am looking for a place on base. WOULD BE SUCH A BLESSING!! THANK YOU SO MUCH, BLESS YOU💖💖💖

Hi there! Your contact would be housing@uofnkona.edu but I can already tell you it will probably be near impossible to get a stay on the base right now. We are currently in lockdown by order of the mayor of Hawaii County and there has been a Covid outbreak in Kona that has affected our own community. The mayor has not decided whether he is going to follow through with the State of Hawaii's decision to open the islands for travelers to bypass the 14 day mandatory travel quarantine by taking a Covid test within 72 hours of landing. He may make our island the only one not participating in the state program, which would mean you would spend your first two weeks sabbatical in mandatory quarantine and our following of "quarantine" on the base is MUCH stricter than elsewhere on the island. Also, the base has limited space available because of quarantine orders and the fact that the department of health has limited us to running at 50% of our normal capacity. We just received over 300 students two weeks ago who are all in quarantine so there might not be room on base. I'm just trying to give you a heads up that it might not be possible because of our current situation on the island. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't reach out and see if there are options. I know I've tried to get my parents to come and stay on base in the past and even if they don't have any availability I have found the housing department very helpful at pointing me in the direction of other places they could stay in the community. Hope that helps! God bless!
@ Brother Trent, that is phenomenal information, I truly appreciate your help!! GOD BLESS YOU AND THANK YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH. STAY STRONG IN HIM AND IN HIS LOVE💖💖💖UNTIL NEXT TIME, -DAVID😁
Hey by chance is there a gym there? Or a fitness center ?
3 ปีที่แล้ว
We used to have a gym separate from the CrossFit box, but the building was recently torn down and I have to be honest in saying I’m not sure what they did with all of the equipment. We had several buildings at the top of campus that had to be removed and most everything was relocated somewhere else on campus, but I never used the gym so I’m not sure if or where they relocated it. CrossFit is still going really strong though and is a big part of our base.
I'm not associated with YWAM or have even met anyone that has gone there. But I don’t think a cult would be showing you around their campus. Haven’t seeing a video FLDS or Scientology campus unless it’s secretive. 👇
Overall Ywam this place is a cult. I been brainwashed all my life from my parents and this place. Messed me up in the head pretty bad trying to hear Gods voice. Ended up making some poor decisions in my life thinking it was GOD
I've not found it to be a cult other than an international affiliation of people with similar experiences, knowledge, and a desire for service. Kinda curious here though. How did following what you thought was God's voice that in turn led you make some poor decisions?
Hello. I am glad that you had a good experience with ywam. But myexperience with ywam was all about talking to the holy spirit and emphasis on paranormal situations. When i was doing my dts there were weekly guest speakers who would say as far as they have seen some one in africa pull a cow out of a 15 feet deep dirt ground, or believing in transporting phisically with in seconds from one country to another and other crazy things they would share as their testimony. I ve seen normal people go through exorcism around 2-3 times.... people speaking in tongues..... to yalk about how i made poor decisions trying to hear gods voice.... it wasnt god. It was me talking to my self!!!! Thats the bad part
@@csp8490 Crazy sounding, I know. YWAM does emphasize a lot on becoming aware of a relationship with God through His Holy Spirit, for direction and leading, and when one is not typically exposed to such prior to coming, it can be quite a shock, especially if presented in a way that is controlling, abusive, or shaming. This is not how Jesus taught his disciples. Jesus taught us that the Spirit of God comes to us, rather than us to Him. We makes ourselves available, but it's Him doing the work, and on his time table. If we have other things to work on, he wants us to work on them. Certainly when we hear God's voice, often it can be through our own mind's voice (but this isn't true for all), which makes discerning if it's Him, us, or the Adversary, our next task and responsibility - until we become familiar with God's voice and able to discern our desires and thus our voice, from His desires, and His voice. DTS should be a safe place to do this, but it seems for some, depending on leadership, it's not always the case. I'm sorry you were misled. I pray that God would help you hear from Him in such a way that you know it's Him and not you, so you never wind up making another poor decision from such again. :)
@inigmatus thank you for your kind words. I hope one day i can be free and have a relationship with God. I really want to but it never happened yet. Like you said though, i am sure it will happen on his time table. Not mine. Aloha🤙
@@csp8490so sorry this happened. I was apart of YWAM and I too agree it’s a cult and really spiritually abusive. I wish more people would understand but they get stuck in the one high moment that YWAM gives you through the DTS…
Yes a beautiful island and the area looks beautiful and enticing but there’s no way I’d send my children to YWAM after hearing horrible stories coming from YWAM campuses. Just TH-cam YWAM abuse. Hard pass. May Gods love and power cover each and every one that goes to these places.
unfortunately, even spiritual leaders are human just as we are and that means they mess up. i went through my own turmoil on my own DTS (not at this base) but ive worked through forgiveness and letting go and giving it to God. abuse happens EVERYWHERE, and i would urge to pray on this matter and give the bitterness to God. the good far outweighs the bad. the devil is ALWAYS on the prowl, as the Bible says, but it doesn't mean we should give up and sit at home where we're "safe".
@@Suedepants100no no. YWAM is unbiblical and uses the idea of leaders to manipulate people into doing what they want them to do. Their leadership style is completely unbiblical. This is coming from someone who was apart of YWAM for many years.
You’re base looks fun but I’d be embarrassed to use other people’s money to be on a YWAM “vacation”. A real mission is serving the Lord in the field building, teaching school, giving health instead of personality classes, sports and worship concerts and dancing.
Sounds like you put God in a box. God is not a boring God, worshipping and serving could look very different to every person. It’s not just sitting down in a class reading the Bible. It’s experiencing the Joy of the Lord and submitting to what he wants to do, not what is Comfortable to you. God is a lot bigger than that, I suggest giving him complete control for his full and heavenly presence.
@@BangBangNoee I don’t put God in a box for saying YWAM is a selfish way to serve a mission. I’ve talked with my granddaughter who was in YWAM and others in the program, saw Hawaii’s YWAM “resort” and watched TH-cams and think the program is faulty and cult like. Again, I’d be embarrassed to take people’s money when there’s hardly any mission field time, really helping people. Youth should pay their own way for personal growth.
You’re right, I was apart of YWAM for many years and this is what I struggled with heavily. You’re only doing things for YWAM not Jesus when you’re there. It has to do with the fact that they’re a cult and are unbiblically sound.
It looks beautiful. Worshipping the Lord in such a pretty place must be awesome!
We are definitely blessed to be here and be a part of what God is doing in Hawaii and the nations. :)
