    In Windows, for Windows 10 and Newer, press Shift + WIndows Key + S. All the options for screengrabs come up on the top of the screen and one of them is select a region like Shift Cmd 4 on the Mac. Once you're done it'll copy it to the clipboard and you can paste it or you can click the notification to open what you grabbed and save it as a file.

      Awesome - I'll pin this comment ❤ - I'll also make a note of this so I can use it as instruction in new videos. Thank you so much!!

    Thank you for this video. It contains very useful information. I faced the very same problem many times before. I even tried the Match Font feature of Photoshop but it's totally useless.

      You're welcome - I'm so happy it helped!! Yes, the Photoshop match font is definitely hit or miss!

    What the Font? saved my butt so many times. Like you, I had to do this many times when working at a printer that specialized in business cards, envelopes, etc. I even have the app on my iPhone!

    Very useful information Anne. And there is a chrome extension for whatfontis and it can be an alternative for font ninja. 😊❤

    As always, great information. What about Adobe Capture? Especially for people using Illustrator, it is something good to have on hand, despite it being Adobe only fonts.

    • @GDHT

      Oh dang, I totally blanked on Adobe Capture! I've never used it, but I'd heard it was good for this. Maybe I can make a 'supplement' video on that!

    Whatfontis is great, but doesn't get the exact font needed a lot of times (which can be all the difference in some projects) as most times we are working with terrible low res images. Still the best out there though. Any tips for those of us who struggle with those script fonts with characters joined together? Extremely popular in T-Shirt designs & can be a pain to find using the tool on their website. Thanks! Your vids are awesome.

    • @GDHT
      @GDHT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you!! When I use Whatfontis with scripts, I use Photoshop to break apart all the letters, which works much better (still not perfect, though). Another issue is that so many fonts aren't available on Whatfontis and others, since they're created by individual artists.

    • @eXpansiveconsciousness
      @eXpansiveconsciousness 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GDHT Yeah even with using Photoshop to break apart the scripts it is challenging for the tool to get it right. Although its great for finding fonts that are close, sometimes you need that extact curl, angle or characteristic of a particular letter. Anyway, thank you for all your help. Hopefully this is further developed by programmers in time & yes the database of fonts inculded. BTW, sublimation videos from you would be fun to watch! :D

    • @GDHT
      @GDHT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eXpansiveconsciousness thank you! I don’t know much about sublimation, unfortunately…other than how to make the files. :)

      That's most of what I do anyway! :D But I feel like I would need to buy a sublimation printer for that. Maybe someday!
