i dont know what your charging for this work but your attention to detail is something to admire if i ever decide to get a custom mountain board i know who i will be calling. Really great, spot on work! most people just dont know how much work is involved in doing these boards correctly.
Thanks Justin. They dont and sometimes people will balk at the price I quote - hours and hours go into these builds! Plenty of people do however recognise the work involved and we are very busy!
Excellent build. It looks amazing, really high end and this continues to give me ideas. Nice shirt there also, I spotted some Onewheel representation. 🤟
Lee Wright Thank you! Take your time sir, all good. I've been digging into the world of 3D printers and have been thoroughly overwhelmed. Any recommendations? I had my eye on the Prusa, but I have no idea what I'm doing.
Very interesting to see the details of one of your top notch builds, Lee. I only wish you, my friend, and my friend Pavel were in my neighborhood so I could see this stuff in person and peak even more into your brilliant DIY brains. Then again, I remember a sign an old auto mechanic had in his shop many years ago: 10 dollars an hour for my services, 15 dollars an hour if you want to hang around and watch. :)
Hahhaha, I charge less if people want to help - Saves me time! I'd love to show you a few tricks of the trade but instead you just have to put up with my videos haha
Just little advice for milling aluminum. I can go faster as long you keep the load down. 2 flutes carbide, all the rpm you have, and most important blow away chips. IF you do not have a compressor a 70-80L aquarium pump (35Euro on Amazon) will do the trick. Toghether with a single nozzle adjustable nozle. YOu can get in on Ali for really cheap. Aluminum is soft so you do not want to recut chips or it will heat up and stick on the endmill...The best would be to add a little bottle with ethanol/water for a mist coolant. Does't make any mess and you will cut much much better. IF you need links let me know :-)
I need all the help I can get! I've been able to cut Ali with a 1/4 end mill easily, but when I go down to 1/8 or 1/16 I have had them break really easy. I know I need to set up some way of evacuating the chips and I deffo need links! I would really apprieciate the help!
@@LeeWright perfect. On light router I mostly use 1/8 inch cutter. Since rigidity is an issue 1/4 inch won't brake but the spindle will flex. 1/8 is a good balance. Will send you the links for the cheap system I use for my router. It works great.
@@LeeWright acquarium pump 70L www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07PCH99WD/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_g2vrFb3EH2Z8F. A compression is better but this one will give you air flow for cheap. Otherwise get something that reach at least 7 bar. The air nozzle www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08FZZKKJX/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_c6vrFb70X9ZTJ You can print or zip tie it to the spindle. Leave out the second line for air only or put it in a 500ml bottle with dost water or better 70% ethanol as coolant. Like Daltron does. Works great. For lighter machine you want to use the HSM features of fusion360 (high speed machining) where you keep the load constant. You will be surprise how much material can remove. When you are ready to spend a bit more get a 1K-1.5K air cooled spindle from China or a Kress 1K. They are much better in power and spindle runout than the wood router you use.
nice, I am so hanging to build one myself, but stock is the issue, E Toxx is all out of stock, MBS Australia, out of stock on most gear, the only place that has F5 bindings for sale is MBS US and they won't sell overseas, and I am afraid I have missed out on the haero decks also with people already having theirs and not hearing anything yet. Alien power systems never seem to have their suitable motors in stock, I could go on but it's depressing, lol
@@LeeWright what makes it worse is, my missus can find plenty of furniture etc in stock to spend the money on, hahahaha trampa does seem quite reliable though. will have to upgrade to e toxx as I can.
I did have one question tho. Which vesc do you think is the best from trampa? If you have had a chance to use multiple types of what they got. Or which vesc do you think would be better?
I was looking into possibly buying a complete trampa etox mountainboard. What is the cost difference between the two, and what is the performance difference?
I don't understand why no one on TH-cam ever explains the electronic side of this in detail. It's like they expect everyone to know this shit. All they do is say, "Yeah so We are about to install the BDFM, the BDT, the receiver, the EFJ DML-2. Then once we do all that we're going to link the AX9 to the JEM dingle. Oh and guys please remember not to confuse this with the JEM dangle." Then I'm left wondering If Maybe I accidentally switched to a different language setting. Please explain this stuff. We want to know what it's called and it's entire function. Oh and no one ever explains the battery either. Please explain what a 12s4p is and how it differs from a 10s5p. it's just incredibly frustrating watching video after video and no one delving into this further.

Love it Lee!! So much thought and problems to solve. Can’t wait for the next!!

Brilliant I am glad that I seemed to have the same sort of issues during my build as the professionals. Less swearing during your build though!
Hahaha - there is deffo swearing involved but then you get demonetised! 🤣👍

This is shaping up really well! Congrats to the owner. 🤙

The LaCroix Stromcore. The reason is its compact, powerful and cheaper than 2 x Trampa VESC.
Do you always need two vescs with two motors or can you just use one?
One motor controller per motor 👍
